I've been to a few shady dentists who always seem interested in selling me on some expensive procedure I don't really need. Dr. Artzer always lays out my options in plain terms, treating me like an adult who can make decisions about his own teeth. His office has all the equipment you could need. The staff is wonderful! They are incredibly friendly and professional. Every time I go in they make me feel like family. It's pretty rare when a dentist's office can make a standard cleaning something I actually sort of look forward to. I enjoy coming here. I feel like I'm in good hands, which is more important since dental hygiene is the real goal. I held off writing this review until I had a few visits to know for sure, but now I'm positive. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone.

When I first moved to NN, I was referred to this dental practice. After many years, I finally…read moredecided to move on. Dr. Mike is awesome - seriously - great guy, and does very good work. It's just that most of your preventative dental care is handled by the hygienists and the staff here just went downhill over time. The last few times I went in for cleanings they weren't good and the hygienist was odd. I'm assuming this is an ongoing issue as more recently when booking appointments, people were asked if they had a preference of hygienist (which wasn't usual before). The piece that sent me over the edge is that one of the women who works at the front desk (who always seems annoyed that you're there and is incredibly rude in her speaking tone) scheduled a cleaning appointment for me and gave me an appointment card. I put the date and time immediately into my Google calendar because, let's be real, I live and die by Google calendar. Then out of the blue, a week before my appointment, I get a call that I missed the appointment. I explained that I'd been told it was the following week. The woman argued with me and said it would be a $60 cancelation fee before I could reschedule. Because I'm known to lose my cool at bad customer service, I had my much calmer and much more successful at negotiating customer service issues husband follow up. After a couple calls back and forth, even his gentle soul was done with the rude behavior. We pay far too much for insurance to receive bad customer service - I'm the first to critique it at a restaurant, why it's taken me so long to stop putting up with bad health care service is a mystery to me. So that put us on the hunt for another dentist who actually had a decent staff - there's gotta be a good one around Bad News somewhere, right?

I know that if I had arrived early or on time, I would've still been waiting at the time that I arrived. The two temporary bridges that they put in while I was waiting for this appointment broke within days of placement - without me eating hard/sticky food. Because of this, I have spent WEEKS trying to eat and drink with exposed tooth nerves from when they shaved my teeth for the bridge. It's been a very long, very painful, and very expensive experience. If you have time and money to waste, you don't mind coming in multiple times for temporary bridges while you wait for the permanent one, if you enjoy the pain of eating with shaved teeth, or if you enjoy long wait times in a tight waiting room - this is the place for you.
