Not too much mayo but it was still nice and creamy. I just wish I got a little more potato salad to match the portion size of the sandwich! Potato Latke Pancakes - 4.5/5 - They were nice, hot, and crispy. You get 2 pancakes which have a nice thickness to them too. The flavor was good, I just think you should get more sour cream and apple sauce. It comes with a small cup of each, but its not quite enough for the 2 pancakes and its 50c each to get extra! Matzo Ball Soup - 3/5 - The matzo ball and soup broth both had a good flavor. The proportions were just off however, a huge matzo ball but not enough broth. And the broth didn't have enough of chicken meat and veggies (carrot/celery). I basically had 1/2 the matzo ball left over at the end Attempted Murder Imperial Stout Beer - 5/5 - Its a vanilla cinnamon stout. The flavor is subtle but in a good way! We came here as a group of 7, on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch and found ourselves with a 20 minute wait. We sat inside and had great service. The food was amazing all around! We went for lunch because I saw a picture of the matzo ball soup and had to try it, and it was, indeed, worth the trip alone- comfort food for sure. I wouldn't change a thing about that soup. As for the sandwiches- the bread is so light and fresh, and I had some of the best thin-sliced roast beef ever. My husband asked for no mustard, and they mistakenly made it with mustard- but when they were remaking it, our server surprisingly brought us a piece of pumpkin coffee cake that was outstanding! So dense and not a bit dry. He also tried an egg cream soda, since it's not something you normally see, and enjoyed it! The pastrami and fries were also top-notch. It's busy and crowded for a reason. They order some of the baked goods from a bakery in NY, and our server said they won't be getting babka until at least January. She also said to arrive early in the morning for the bagels. In the last few years I've lived in Utah, I've found that most restaurants here range from just okay to downright disappointing. Very few truly stand out. Recently, someone mentioned a Jewish deli in Salt Lake City that they said was pretty good. I was skeptical but decided to check it out. When I arrived, the decor had a bit of a Western vibe, clean, welcoming, and full of people clearly enjoying their meals. We waited about five minutes before being seated. The service was prompt, and the staff was friendly and attentive. To my surprise, the food came out quickly. I've been craving a good Reuben for a while now, and I've had them in cities like New York, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, and Miami, so I know what a quality Reuben should taste like. I ordered the pastrami Reuben with fries, and wow, I wasn't expecting the sheer size of the sandwich or the generous heap of crispy, salty fries that came with it. Of course, there was also a classic deli pickle on the side. The sandwich itself was easily three inches thick or more, piled high with tender pastrami, tangy sauerkraut, and creamy dressing, all working together in perfect harmony. He got reuben with potatoe salad and I got classic turkey sandwich with fries. We both got soda and ordered cheesecake and a babka to go. Total about $60 with healthy tip. We agreed, hands down the potatoe salad was THE BEST we ever had. Sorry to all the family recipes-- this was better.
