Feldman Deli is a carefully curated dining experience. It seems care was taken with each ingredient and how they come together. The bread with just the right amount of rye and moisture, preventing the dryness often present in other delicatessens. This is just the beginning. The meats, the matzo ball soup, the slaw, dressing, and the best dang potato salad we've ever had (seriously, except my wife's, which is killer but is a different kind all together). We loved the staff, who were all genuine, funny, and personal. Great Feldmands reps. And the whole atmosphere with food quotes that explained the attitude of this deli that makes you are part of the building up this experience. The meats are tender and flavorful and blend nicely together with the thousand island dressing and slaw between the layers. It also comes with a side, I picked the potato salad which was good too. Not too much mayo but it was still nice and creamy. I just wish I got a little more potato salad to match the portion size of the sandwich! Potato Latke Pancakes - 4.5/5 - They were nice, hot, and crispy. You get 2 pancakes which have a nice thickness to them too. The flavor was good, I just think you should get more sour cream and apple sauce. It comes with a small cup of each, but its not quite enough for the 2 pancakes and its 50c each to get extra! Matzo Ball Soup - 3/5 - The matzo ball and soup broth both had a good flavor. The proportions were just off however, a huge matzo ball but not enough broth. And the broth didn't have enough of chicken meat and veggies (carrot/celery). I basically had 1/2 the matzo ball left over at the end Attempted Murder Imperial Stout Beer - 5/5 - Its a vanilla cinnamon stout. The flavor is subtle but in a good way! Its not sweet, but has a smooth bitterness and mouthfeel with a slight fragrance of the vanilla cinnamon. If you like stout, def give this a try. Its a strong one too, 10.5% ABV! We went for lunch because I saw a picture of the matzo ball soup and had to try it, and it was, indeed, worth the trip alone- comfort food for sure. I wouldn't change a thing about that soup. As for the sandwiches- the bread is so light and fresh, and I had some of the best thin-sliced roast beef ever. My husband asked for no mustard, and they mistakenly made it with mustard- but when they were remaking it, our server surprisingly brought us a piece of pumpkin coffee cake that was outstanding! So dense and not a bit dry. He also tried an egg cream soda, since it's not something you normally see, and enjoyed it! The pastrami and fries were also top-notch. It's busy and crowded for a reason. They order some of the baked goods from a bakery in NY, and our server said they won't be getting babka until at least January. She also said to arrive early in the morning for the bagels. We hadn't ever been before (but will be back!), so we stared with a bagel considering the bagel policy (only allowed one per person) we felt we needed to try their homemade bagel. We order two sandwich to share and they were so big, and they both came with a side, we got the potato salad (delicious), and the fries which were memorable and haven't had better fries since then. Feldmans Deli- I travel frequently for work, which gives me the opportunity to enjoy incredible food from all over the country, and the world. In the last few years I've lived in Utah, I've found that most restaurants here range from just okay to downright disappointing. Very few truly stand out. Recently, someone mentioned a Jewish deli in Salt Lake City that they said was pretty good. I was skeptical but decided to check it out. When I arrived, the decor had a bit of a Western vibe, clean, welcoming, and full of people clearly enjoying their meals. We waited about five minutes before being seated. The service was prompt, and the staff was friendly and attentive. To my surprise, the food came out quickly. I've been craving a good Reuben for a while now, and I've had them in cities like New York, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, and Miami, so I know what a quality Reuben should taste like. I ordered the pastrami Reuben with fries, and wow, I wasn't expecting the sheer size of the sandwich or the generous heap of crispy, salty fries that came with it. Of course, there was also a classic deli pickle on the side. The sandwich itself was easily three inches thick or more, piled high with tender pastrami, tangy sauerkraut, and creamy dressing, all working together in perfect harmony. It was absolutely delicious. If you're a fan of this type of food, do yourself a favor and check this place out. And if you've never tried a classic Jewish deli-style sandwich, you're truly missing out. I'm so glad I found this gem and can't wait to go back and explore more of the menu. The restaurant was full and we joined waitlist for 15 minutes. Then got a table. The service was both friendly and prompt. Atmosphere a little loud with conversations. He got reuben with potatoe salad and I got classic turkey sandwich with fries. We both got soda and ordered cheesecake and a babka to go. Total about $60 with healthy tip. We agreed, hands down the potatoe salad was THE BEST we ever had. Sorry to all the family recipes-- this was better. The sandwiches were excellent and we are already talking about going back again -- i might need to order a half sandwich as they're so large.
