The service is at times kinda slow to notice you at the door. Like you could walk in and no one would be at the host stand for a while. This usually happens between rushes though. I have been here several times so this is a summary of about 10-20 visits. The burgers are usually very good, the steaks are hit or miss whether they are close to the ordered doneness. I:E I have ordered medium or medium well before and they came out the definition of rare with a warm red center instead of the hot pink center of medium. The steaks aren't seasoned well and are a bit bland. The potatoes are usually done pretty well but the fries can be hit or miss as well. The main issue with the fries is they sometimes come out cooked too long and are hard. The reason I usually come here is just because the burgers are better quality at a lower cost than whataburger down the street. The trains running around are definitely a favorite. read more

Exploring the area around Amarillo and came across this place from Yelp reviews. Late for lunch, not many diners here. I expect they get the college crowd from Texas A&M across the street! Looking for some fried chicken, and we got it. Chicken fried chicken breast, boneless is about all there is anymore. This one was excellent. Huge, super crunchy, and cooked perfectly. Service and food were both excellent. We had chips and queso to start followed by chicken fried steak for me and pork chops for my wife. She wants to go back before we leave town to order them again. I loved the trains circling the restaurant. There are TVs everywhere but it's not that loud. It didn't seem very busy but we were early. We'll be back. read more

Took my family to Feldman's after a long, hot day of moving into dorms. The atmosphere is unique and fun! The people are friendly and the food is amazing. There are choices for everyone; get a two or three item manager's special if you want a feast - there is also a lighter menu section with only one side. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Our waitress suggested the chicken fried steak and Tortuga chicken; she make them both sound great and they were; we ordered one of each. The portion sizes were generous, the fries they came with were crispy and salted just right, and the cole slaw was excellent. Great food and great service! An old friend from out of town had come to Canyon to hike through the Palo Duro Canyon and she contacted me to get together. Because she had already driven quite a ways just to get there I offered to drive down to Canyon from Amarillo so we could get together for lunch. I picked Feldman's Wrong Way Diner because I had been hearing about it the whole time I was in Amarillo but had never been there. We were both very happy with both the food and the service. We met right when they opened. She got a burger and fries which she said were very good. I got sirloin beef tips with grilled onions and green peppers over a bed of rice and it was delicious. I even had leftovers to take home. The meat was very tender. We had an extremely sweet waitress who took good care of us. We we were there for over 2 hours eating and visiting and nobody rushed us which was nice. I would love to go back there again someday. I can see why everyone recommends it. My only regret is that I was so busy visiting and talking that I forgot to look up to notice the train that circles around the wall up on a little shelf. I had heard about it but just completely forgot to look for it. It must not have made any noise or I would have noticed. Next time! And I have to put in a good word for the Rocking Zebra Ice Cream shop around the corner which I went to afterwards. It was great! read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. We just left there and it was the worst experience ever! We had to sit on the patio when there were tables inside. Two tables that came in after us had their food and were finishing up and two of our eight guests still did not have their food. Those of us that did get our food, it was cold. We found this restaurant on Yelp with great reviews so we decided to give it a try. I was worried about my clothing (hiking pants & hat) since we'd been hiking, but it was not a problem. We tried the fried pickles for our appetizer and they were so good. Very hot & fresh and with a generous side of ranch. My chicken fried chicken was large and tasty. My husbands cheeseburger was the same. Everything came out hot and fresh. The decor is cute inside with the trains and we would definitely eat here again if we were in town. read more

We visit Feldman's every time we're in the area. Why? The food is usually good, plentiful, and reasonably priced. That explains why there's sometimes a line to get in, as there was when we left today. We arrived at about 6 pm on a Saturday evening and were seated immediately. Drink orders were taken and after they were delivered, we ordered our meals. I had a peach daiquiri. While it was very tasty, it was not smooth; there were large chunks of ice in it. I ordered the fried clams with french fries (and cole slaw) and my husband had chicken fried chicken with sides of fries and corn. Portions were quite large, and everything tasted good. Feldman's must coat the potatoes before frying them, as the coating gets extra crispy and stays that way. We did need to ask our waitperson for water to accompany the meal. It came with lemon wedges. There was so much food that neither of us finished our meal. I took my leftovers back to the hotel for a midnight snack. All in all, this was a great experience save for one important thing: Feldman's does not require patrons to wear masks when they come in or while walking around. Given the pandemic (and, notably, just a day after it was announced that President Trump tested positive), I'd have expected a bit more attention to hygiene. Addendum: We visited Feldman's a second time, on Sunday (October 4), this trip. This time water was served soon after we were seated. I ordered a bowl of chicken poblano soup. While it was tasty, the quantity served (the bowl was shallow) did not remotely justify the $7 price. I had to ask for crackers. My husband ordered grilled chicken breast with mashed potatoes and green beans. The beans were truly awful...overcooked and mushy. Downgrading my rating from 4 to 3 stars, unfortunately. read more

Was passing through the area, and this was one of the top restaurants in Canyon. It's right across for the college campus, so it was pretty busy. We started with the Fried Pickles. I was really excited for them because they looked great in the pictures, but I was a little disappointed in them. The batter wasn't very good. I'm wondering if the oil was old or something. Perfect spot for dinner our first night in the area! Literally a 13 minute walk from our Airbnb (but we drove!) So much fun seeing the train, backwards posters, and the best thing there... autographed photo of Cory Feldman, lol. That aside, there is nothing that completes a meal with good friends than sharing fried pickles. I got a grilled chicken Caesar salad to share with the hubs who got the fried clams. They were so good crispy and crunchy that the hubs kinda inhaled them and I only managed to grab two!! My kid was so happy to get Mac and cheese from the little's menu. My tween enjoyed the original burger with no mustard. I love that you can decide between fries and their homemade chips (both are great but go for the chips!) The staff is super friendly and really accommodating. The hubs has an issue with dairy and they were able to help check to make sure he didn't have anything dairy and made substitutions so he could enjoy a meal without worry. Lost 1 star cuz my daughter's first burger was just a bit toooo charred (could not bite it) but they were super nice about bringing another one out for her that was perfectly cooked. Excellent. All American comfort food is the best way I would describe it. We got an assortment of Fried Pork Chops, Hamburgers, Chicken Fried Steak, Pasta, Barbecue. Everything was excellent. This place has charm and character. The staff were very polite and attentive. Drink prices are reasonable. In fact, everything in Canyon, TX is reasonably priced. I really don't have any complaints, although there are only eight Uber drivers in this town and we met two of them :) The restaurant was excellent, and if in town again, I will visit. So my husband and I decided to try this place out. Nice place and atmosphere. I was so disappointed that we were waiting nearly 10 minutes. And then once our drink order was taken, the waiter had to come back twice to clarify what my husband wanted for his drink. Also I got a French fry in my corn . But my chicken was delicious. Good atmosphere, it 's nice to watch the train models go by. Depends on where you are seated, will depend on how many you see. The fish melted in my mouth, the crust was crispy and well seasoned. Stopping by from Fort Worth and came across this pretty cool looking place. I had the Beef Tips with Caesar salad and broccoli. The Beef Tips were pretty good as was the Caesar salad. Our waiter was very responsive as he informed us that he accidentally mixed up our ticket with another table's. We got the chocolate cake for dessert and he comped the cake for the mistake, even though it was just a few cents difference in the prices. I had not ate here since college, which would have been over 16 years ago. It had been a while, but this place is still great! We started with the chips and "Wrong Way Queso," and then my son had the popcorn chicken with homemade chips, and I had the "Wrong Way Chicken," which was a grilled chicken breast with mushrooms, cheese, and bacon. I had a Caesar side salad, and a side of their green beans. The salad had a little too much dressing, but was tasty, while the green beans were homemade with onions and bacon. The chicken was amazing! I would've taken a picture, but I ate that far too quickly. My son enjoyed his popcorn chicken, but it did remind me of something you could get at a fast food joint; definitely not hand battered. My husband's basketball team, along with the cheerleaders, all ate here after their playoff game. The restaurant was more than accommodating and served them quickly. This place is awesome! We ate on the outdoor patio three days in a row. It was great weather, but we had a puppy and they were very accommodating to this. The southwest tortilla soup is a standout... it has so much flavor, we ordered it three days in a row. My husband was a huge fan of the chicken fried steak. My favorite (aside from the soup) was the pasta and loaded baked potato. There are so many side options we were able to try most of them. The service was also great, every time we went, even though it was in the 80s, we were the only ones on the patio because we had our dog.
