Short version: after our first visit here, we thought this might become our new go-to restaurant. After our second visit, it is now our DON'T GO TO restaurant. Like ever! Got a few minutes to hear why? We called this evening (Tuesday) at around 6pm to order some take out. We literally called 19 times and the line was busy. No worries. We really loved this place the first time we went (great food, great service and nice atmosphere) so we decided to just go over there, place an order to go and wait for it. All good. We got there and it turns out that, OOPS, the phone was off the hook. Whatever... we saw that it wasn't crowded, so we decided to grab a table. Everyone seemed super nice. Got our chips and really tasty salsa and... The best part of our experience was now OVER. We ordered drinks. Mine was an ice tea with a splash of lemonade. I told the waitress that I really only wanted a splash (not half and half) and she said she'd just bring me a side of lemonade, problem solved. I'm still waiting for it! NEVER CAME! Still all good because my drink was made just right so let's just chill and enjoy the evening. And I really tried. But I've got four pet peeves at a restaurant and these guys checked all four boxes. 1) Don't mess up my wife's meal. The missus is one of those poor souls who think that cilantro tastes like soap. She ordered a taco salad and didn't ask any questions because the menu listed everything that came on the salad, and cilantro wasn't one of the ingredients. Salsa WAS and because she knows that many salsas come with cilantro she asked for her "salsa on the side". Well... her salad came not only with a generous amount of cilantro on top, but it was also covered with salsa (even more cilantro). And, for the record, it also had a ton of grilled onions. If you LOVE onions, having a whole one on your salad is your special day, but for everyone else, that's a LOT of onions! 2) Don't let my glass get empty. I waited easily five minutes trying to flag down a waitress to get a refill - and when it finally came... guess what? NO LEMONADE! Took another five minutes to get that fixed. Why? It wasn't crowded at all and there were three waitresses either hanging out by the kitchen or off to the side where they were completely out of sight. 3) When I'm done eating, get that dirty plate off my table stat. Yeah, that didn't happen. 4) When we're done and you bring the check, come back for our payment within a few minutes (like you did the last time we were here). After waiting for about ten minutes, we ended up giving up and taking it up to the register ourselves. I get it. We're not the only ones in the place. Restaurants get busy, plus they have take out orders to prepare (although not that many when your phone has been off the hook for twenty minutes. Lol.) But the attached picture really tells the story better than all these words can. THE PLACE WAS PRETTY MUCH EMPTY and all three waitresses are standing around with their backs to the few customers who are there (and begging for refills and dirty dishes to be cleared and credit cards to be picked up). Guys! The food ain't bad, and the paintings are awesome, but the service was unbelievably bad - from beginning to end. All the food reminds me of some great Mexican food you get in Texas. The gravy is great and you can eat a gallon of it if you like... The garlic shrimp is the bomb.... We visited around 5pm on a Saturday evening. We came with a large group but they had reserved a table for us so luckily no wait time. Our waitress was not the best. She wasn't very attentive to our table. We had to wait about 30 mins before we could get her to come back and give us refills for our drinks. It felt as tho we were bothering her by asking for more drinks or anything else we asked for. The wait time for our food was long, longer than usual for even a large party. Food was okay. Not bad but just not great. Nothing too special and honestly the same quality and flavor that I could have made at home. Now, when I go out to eat (which is treat for our bellies & we're spending money) I want food that is delicious & something I can't make at home. It has to be special. This place just didn't offer that for us. I will say, the carne asada fries were very good. I honestly would've been way happier eating that as my entree than I was with my entree. I ordered takeout at Fello's and I enjoyed the food. I'm very picky with my Mexican food, because I'm very particular with the flavors and spice level. I'm a big spice lover. My go-to are always taco trucks because the food taste soo authentic. I would like to say that the wet burrito was very delicious!! Meat was cooked very well. Wish they gave more red sauce. But I'm a saucy gal! The fries were cooked very well. There was no cheese on the fries. They actually put the cheese on the carne. So not the typical "nachos" I'm used to getting nacho cheese on nachos. The nachos were good as well. Those weren't for me. But the person who ate them liked them very much. I did like that they added a lot of jalapeños and veggies. Which I'm a big fan of. The customer service was great. They were very sweet and helpful. The restaurant was very chill and quiet. I ordered a simple asada burrito To go. And when I got home the first third of the entire burrito, it was nothing but bean and rice. So I called and had told them that I was very dissatisfied with it. Keep in mind. I hardly ever ever almost never complain about anything. I'm one of those people that just kind of deals with it and moves on. So when I do speak up, it has to be an egregious issue which I felt this was for the 12 bucks I should've been getting a good Burrito, which I normally have had whenever i've gone there, and I do go there often. Sadly, this time I felt very shortchanged, and it wasn't worth eating anymore. Let alone I needed to say something about it to them. When I called, they told me to bring in the remainder of what I haven't eaten and they would give me a full refund or make me a new burrito, Okay. So I wrapped up what was left and took it down there when I brought it in. They said wait a minute, sir, and they took it back and muttered around in the back with everybody and told me that was not going to get anything back or another burrito, because I had eaten almost half of it, which is what I had called and said on the phone in the first place. And they completely understood that. At least that's what I understood from the conversation we had on the phone. So of course, my first response was what the f*** we just talked on the phone. Her response was don't curse in here. Which of course warranted my f*** y** and then realizing that I was going nowhere, I shoved my burrito across the counter, sliding across the floor underneath their salad station and promptly left. So here I am Letting everybody know about the lack of customer service. That they promised me on the phone, but yet could not produce When I had arrived for Returning Their food that was far from acceptable. On a positive note the young server was very polite which is the only thing positive we experienced with our recent dinner there. The food however should "never" have been delivered to the three of us. Our party of three did not finish our meals as they were inedible. In particular, one of our meals was the Chili Verde Plate which wasn't fit for human consumption due to: * the Pork Chili Verde was EXTREMELY salty. * the Pork Chili Verde was comprised of at least 40% fat chunks and possibly even closer to 50%. * the Rice was lacking in flavor. * the Refried Beans were just Okay. Bottom line is that our three (3) meals should never have been served to us. I brought up my concerns to our server expecting some appropriate response to which I was told "You should have mentioned it earlier." The total bill for our three meals was roughly $70 which I paid. There was no effort on the management of this restaurant's part to address our unsatisfactory experience. I was not given any opportunity to speak with management. If I could have given this restaurant a lesser rating, I would have. In a nutshell this restaurant majorly fails due to: * Extremely poor food preparation. * Apparent lack of Quality Control in ensuring prepared meals are fit for human consumption. * Poor restaurant management which should include a method of addressing customer complaints. read more

The other night my boyfriend and I were looking for places to eat pozole. I have never had it before and he wanted to take me out to eat some. We found Fello's and saw it was relatively close, under a 10 minute drive. We got there maybe around 40-50 minutes before they closed and they immediately sat us down and brought the menus. They got our drinks shortly after and brought out some complimentary chips and salsa which were pretty good! The pozole came out maybe 8-10 minutes after we ordered and the bowl was huge! It came with all of the sides of which you could add to your liking: sliced radish, cilantro, onions, lime, shredded lettuce, and hot sauce + tostadas. This experience was probably the best I could ask for considering I've never had pozole before and it was delicious. We had some of the sweetest servers, specifically one young girl named Vickie who came around a lot and asked if everything was alright and if we needed anything. We had a great experience eating some authentic and traditional Mexican food. The enchiladas and burritos were amazing. I especially love the refried beans, they were smooth, creamy, and tasty! The restaurant also has a menu for kids to choose from, and a decent number of beers to choose as well. The staff was super friendly in taking our orders and providing suggestions. What happened to customer service? I ordered the pancake breakfast for dinner, which consisted of eggs, bacon, fried potatoes with onions, and 2 pancakes. Pancakes came late and burnt. The server argued with me that they were blackened and not burnt. She got louder and louder. I stood my ground and demanded they take them back. She yelled, " we make them like that on purpose, and if the next ones are raw, and you get sick it's on you!" I think that was a threat. Because they were raw. The receipts do not match the menue prices. Check your receipts against the menu prices. Also, if you pay with cash, they keep your change. For example, if your bill is $25.17 and you give them $30.00, you would expect $4.83 back, right? No, they keep the .83 cents and give $4.00. If you complain, you get a plethora of excuses. They always round in their favor and not yours. Pay with cash. Bring a dollar in change, and if they screw up, don't expect them to fix it and expect some revenge from the staff. read more

This place is kinda hidden and doesn't look like a restaurant. The inside is okay. I judge harshly on chips. (They weren't bad just not my fave). However when the food came out. Holy crappola. These dishes are HUGE. I had the carne asada (steak) wet burrito and menudo (don't judge me I couldn't decide). They were amazing! Amazing experience! The best Mexican food in Manteca by far! The portions are huge and the flavors are so good. We ordered shrimp cocktail and a molcajete with shrimp and steak, chicken strips and fries for our little one. Surprisingly, the chicken strips were huge and the fries were plenty, especially for a kids size. Don't get me started on our food. The coctel was juicy, had such a good consistency and a great amount of shrimp. They gave us plenty of lime, crackers, and chile for toppings. The molcajete was huge!
