Ok food but they frequently don't get your order right. My main pet peeves are 1) they just pick up the phone and hang up right away. There's no way to place phone orders anymore I guess. And 2) their online prices for certain things change to something much higher when you go to check out. Basic bait and switch (thus why I'm trying to call in and place an order over the phone!). The small rice was $3 something when I put it in the cart, but then was $9 when I checked out. Feels kind of scammy TBH. Disappointing at times to say the least. Then when I brought it to the attention of the employees there, they said that they don't control the online prices. And when I asked about their phone issues, they said that they hang up on customers when they're busy!! What?! Great business model! read more

We had always wanted to try this place as we walk by it all the time when at the other stores in this strip mall. They've got a pretty good customer base, you can tell, people are coming in & out of here all the time. Their spot takes up 2 spaces at this building, their door entrance is on the left, when you walk in there's the counter to order at, and a few tables to sit, then the right side has a bar you can order drinks at, & tables too. Menu has got pretty good variety. You can get burritos, quesadillas, combo plates, fajitas, and fresh drinks. We got a shrimp burrito, chicken Quesadilla, & the flautas dinner plate. All the food was pretty good. The flautas had plenty of the toppings on them too, which I liked, they also were fried well not overdone. Every time I come here, the service is quick and the food is fresh and delicious! My husband and I share the super burrito with grilled chicken and the beer-battered fish tacos. The portions are a decent size and always fills me up. I love that this is a no frill Mexican restaurant - you get what you pay for and they've been consistent and reliable with both service and food. Plus, they keep the tables and floor clean. No longer do they offer free pico de gallo which is understandable but at the same time charging almost $2 for a ridiculously small cup of it is crazy. If you know me, I'm a big fan of tacos, especially tacos de puerco (pork) and tacos de lengua (cow tongue) -- and the salsa that comes with it. While my experience at this La Mexicana location was decent enough to want me to come back, there left quite a bit of disappointment and things that they could improve. Here's my experience at this one right by Valpico and Tracy Blvd: Food: 3/5 The food in itself was honestly pretty good -- quesadillas and tacos make a really good match. While the quesadillas were really cheesy and a lot of fillings, the tacos were a whole other story. While I appreciated that they made corn tortillas to the best of their extent, the corn tortillas with lenguas made the taco shell too wet and too soggy. In addition, they put a little bit too much lengua -- which left an aftertaste that I did not like at all. In addition, I had asked them to put the chile verde on the side, since I knew Chile verde was saucy yet spicy at the same time. Instead, they put a lot of that on there (a little bit too much), and I couldn't feel the lengua in my mouth. The grilled fish taco was good, but the seasoning of the grilled fish could've have been better despite the fact I put a LOT of lemon on both two tacos. Thankfully, cabbage and other toppings came to the rescue, because I would have not been able to change it up more than what was needed. Service: 4/5 The service was okay -- I would say that it wasn't too bad, but it wasn't too good either. Just some subpar service and regularly seen at a taqueria. I will say that they were responsive even if they were busy with dual orders (in-house and Doordash/Uber Eats orders) being dropped at the same time. Atmosphere: 3.5/5 The atmosphere was honestly mid -- there wasn't a lot to comment on this about. The rest of the patrons there seemed to mind their own business, so there's really not that much to comment about either on this specific topic. Food is good when they get it right. But they always get orders wrong. Ordered 15 chicken tacos. Confirmed kind of chicken we wanted. Went to go pick up the order. Confirmed chicken tacos. Came home and they have made tacos asada. Gave them a call and they kept arguing back saying we didn't order chicken tacos. If that was the case why the fuck they confirmed back that the have chicken tacos ready. One time thing happens but this have happened multiple times. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. SHOULD CHANGE WHATEVER THEY NEED TO AND LISTEN TO THE CUSTOMER. Mistakes happen but try to fix them when possible. read more

The food is good, but the service at the counter needs improvement. The women either need a class on how to happily meet and greet customers, or need to get a new job. Within the last two weeks, we have visited for breakfast between 8:30 - 9:30, and both times the women taking our order was not friendly and acted like it was a chore to help us. This hasn't been a new experience, it has happened before our recent visit. read more

Ordered two burritos one with meat & the other no meat. Both burritos were done incorrectly. They both had meat!! I had to drive back for them to fix them. It was 9:30am & I'm the only customer there instead of helping me & re doing my burritos they were working on another order for people that weren't even in the restaurant yet for their pick up. Zero sense or urgency. I made it vocal that I was upset as I was watching them work on other peoples order as I'm still here standing waiting for my order I placed 30 min ago. The cashier told me well the owner is him if you what to speak to him. Which made me more upset knowing that he himself was one of the cooks & he decided to ignore me & not take care of the problem himself by re making my burritos first that he messed up on. My burritos were re made & I got home & they were still incorrectly they were both missing the sour cream. This has happened multiple times to me here I hadn't visit this location in over a year & I specifically told them no meat you guys always mess it up please no meat. Consistently mediocre. Super burrito tonight with old meat and fat. I feel sick. Ugh.

The hubs and I have been following the keto lifestyle for nearly 3 years. We had about a year long break in between due to an accident, but had done Keto for 1.5 years prior to that as well. Long story short I'm having to make some lifestyle changes again, and have reintroduced carbs into my life in the past month. I was happy to find that after a few years, the quality of food and reasonable pricing here has stayed intact. Their green sauce is bomb, the meats were all cleaned nicely and well cooked and the portions were generous. Two enchiladas a-la-carte was really all I needed. I ordered a side of refried beans, expecting a small bowl, and they served me an entire dinner plate. I took 85% of it home and made a few bean burritos out of it. Yum! Overall this is a solid choice for Mexican food if you're in the area. I've never had problems here and always leave happy. read more

la taqueria mexicana is a solid spot for quick, delicious mexican food. the staff is always very friendly and sweet, and they get your food out fast, which makes it great for a casual bite. the inside can feel a little dirty sometimes, and it often smells strongly of cleaning products -- not sure if that's a good or bad thing, but it's definitely noticeable. that said, the food never disappoints. i constantly find myself craving their carne asada and al pastor -- both are packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. definitely a go-to when i'm in the mood for tasty, no-fuss tacos. read more

Located in the Red Maple Village across from the Raley's grocery store. The service has always been pretty good and inside kept clean for the most part. They can get very busy at times but they manage to do a good job keeping the line moving quickly and getting the orders out promptly. The food has always been made to my liking and is fresh with decent size portions. The super burrito is always my staple go to when here with the nachos and chicken flautas being some other good options to try as well. They have a salsa bar where you can grab some chips and a variety of salsas to choose from while you wait for your food. In my opinion the green salsa is the tastiest. Tracy has a couple decent options for taquerias but I always find myself coming to this location the most. Definitely recommend. read more

I called in an order for super nachos and a large rice and beans at 5:30pm. I arrived 10 minutes later at 5:40. My food was ready when I walked in. By the time I got home (5 minutes later, total of 15 minutes from the time I put the order in, to the time I got home) and my nachos were DISGUSTING!! It looked like it had been sitting for atleast an hour or two! My sour cream was curdled and separated, my guacamole was dark BROWN! Not to mention the lack of meat! The chips were stale as well. It was basically old condiments, chips, and cheese I called to get a refund just for the nachos and the cashier on the phone had the audacity to tell me that it was my fault that I did not order the sour cream and guacamole and meat on the nachos separately and then put it all together when I got home so that it did not get hot.... I thought the point of nachos was to get NACHOS! Not build your own. If I wanted to do that, I would've went to the grocery store. Then she proceeded to not offer me a refund for the nachos which is all I wanted.
