It's perfect for people like me who are claustrophobic and anxious, there is a lot of open space, it's perfectly decorated, and the stylists are incredibly kind. I came here after seeing Kat's fantasy colors on Instagram and had to give her a shot at my hair. Well, she took my hair from L'Oréal's darkest box dye to a masterpiece I get complimented on daily... twice! I'll never switch salons. On top of that, my bands are incredibly difficult to cut. They always end up raising on the left side because I have a cowlick. Stylist usually keep cutting until my bangs are around lord Farquad length, which I personally don't enjoy on myself. I'm horrible and can't currently remember her name, but the wonderful babe who cut my bangs L i s t e n e d to me and I walked out of there with straight cut bangs that weren't shorter than I asked. I always expect them to get messed up as no one has cut them perfectly in over 10 years. I was so shocked. On top of that the salon is SO CLEAN. I'm a germaphobic creature with OCD, and seeing such a clean, great smelling bathroom is always refreshing. Their decorations are beautiful. You can also get tea and water to keep you hydrated. Don't get me wrong, Margaret was super sweet, and my haircut wasn't bad, but if I'm going to cough up $72 (with tip) for a haircut (I know, I know, it's hard to find anything under that these days...) then I want to be absolutely ecstatic about my hair (and my overall experience!), and, well, I wasn't. For getting your hair cut in someone's house, I don't see how one should be expected to pay salon prices. Your hair is rinsed in the kitchen sink. There's no store to pay rent on. No staff to hire. Shouldn't that make the prices a little more reasonable since it's going straight into her pocket? Also, I went in to get my pixie trimmed. I thought that would qualify as a man's cut (I mean, isn't it?) but, alas, I had to pay the "being a woman" tax (but that's a rant for another day...). It's definitely not the best cut I had, though, sure, it's not horrible. Again, Margaret was very nice and she does make her space welcoming and cozy. I have to admit I was really nervous going in, because my hair wasn't in the greatest shape. A year ago, at a different salon, I had a horrible experience that left me with a severe damage line. I really wanted to make the change to blonde, but realized that I'd have to be careful... This translated into me bombarding Margaret with a ton of questions and concerns. At the fancy, expensive salon that I used to go to in Manhattan, I'd sometimes feel like the stylists were snooty and didn't have the patience to answer all my questions. Margaret really took the time to talk me through all of them, being completely realistic and honest about everything from what would look good with my skin tone to how much damage I could expect if I went platinum and what measures I should take to keep my hair healthy. After talking to her and trying out a test strand, I finally decided to go an ashy/dirty blonde, which I'm so happy with. I'm excited that I got to make a dramatic change to my hair without damaging it irreparably, like the online accounts I'd read before. It's only been two days, but I can't wait until the next time I can go back to try something new with Margaret.

THIS IS A REVIEW FOR SARAH ONLY, I cannot speak for the other barbers here!! I've been seeing Sarah (she is the barber with short blond hair) for probably over a year now, and in my 29 years of life I haven't met a barber that continuously kills it each and every time. Yes she's young, but has skills beyond her years and I don't even think she knows it. She's been keeping me up to date on trends (she cut my man bun off, thank god), she's got an eye for style, and has style herself. I feel more like we're collaborating on a project than just in for a monthly chore, which makes it fun. In all, each time I leave the chair I feel confident and receive compliment after compliment on my haircuts. I always look forward to seeing what she'll come up with next. Price here is SLIGHTLY more than the last shop she was at, but I'll always be a loyal client. Thanks Sarah. read more

It's sad to say that this place has allowed their success to spoil their customer's experience and drive poor quality of service. 1) One of the front desk guys acts way to much like a man-diva. Shows no sign of empathy to customers and hardly acknowledges theirs requests. 2) With the exception of 1 or 2 of their 'old timers' (who might require a 3+ hour wait time,) you're dealing with lazy and unhelpful individuals. 3) This one particular barber counts his tips in front of you, making it awkward and completely unprofessional. 4) The front desk guy will talk about customers with other barbers right in front of them or simply roll his guys. I loved this spot...but lately they've become way too cool for school. I don't mind pretentiousness, but not when it spoils the overall experience. read more

Great sunny space in a converted garage. The Garage door was open drawing in a beautiful sunny afternoon. Everyone was polite and friendly. I was served immediately on Friday afternoon and had my hair cut and beard trimmed by Eric. Eric was personable, knew what he was doing, and seemed to enjoy his work. I got a grrrreat fade, a stylish cut, and clean-up with a straight razor. He even waxed my moustache. I also bought some "Dude 1" beard oil, which cost more than the price of the shave and haircut combined! (55 for the service, 65 for the oil) It was made locally, and smells really good. So why not splurge! read more

Fellow Barber is a really cool spot, but this review is for Lexi in particular. I've been following her from salon to salon for years now, she's been my primary hairstylist for almost a decade and she has never failed to impress me with her skills and hair advice. As a trans woman who has known her since before I came out, I have the unique experience of saying that she is excellent at both men's and women's cuts. Aside from her haircutting skills, Lexi will make you feel at home in her chair and you'll enjoy chatting with her as she gives you a new look or cleans up your usual. read more
