I was in horrific pain for months before I met Heather. I had a 6 month old and I could barely hold her. I was burning, in excruciating pain and had to use the bathroom every 15 minutes. Countless doctors told me my pain was not pelvic floor-related and then kept prescribing medications for my bladder that didn't help. I felt dismissed and hopeless. Heather is one of the most knowledgeable health care providers I have met in any context. She takes her time to understand everything that is going on in the whole body and helps you understand it too. She is very kind and professional and makes you feel comfortable throughout the therapy. I am seeing her for a few different issues and both are steadily improving. I was in PT for 4 months (at another place) for frozen shoulder with NO improvements and after TWO sessions with Heather I regained almost complete mobility of my shoulder. I've also seen two other therapists - Kasia and MaryBeth - both are equally as knowledgeable, kind, and effective. Add to that, the office is beautiful and extremely clean. I can not say enough good things about Fusion Wellness and the therapists there. I loved working with Heather and Mary, but I worked the most with Carly and am so grateful to her and will focus on her for this review. After being rotated between doctors, it's pretty fantastic to find out that expertise and kindness aren't mutually exclusive. Carly's ability as a physical therapist are only surpassed by her empathy and patience. The thing that sets Fusion wellness therapists apart is that the facility and its practitioners view patients as a whole and treat the entire body and not just one thing. Most physical therapists you will find work on one thing, and if you come in with another ache or pain, they won't treat it either because they can't bill it to insurance or because it's not part of the plan/focus. My surgeon recommended me for my PF issues due to endometriosis and a nasty fall on my tailbone. The philosophy of FW is that because the PF is connected to muscles in the entire body, and pain anywhere affects the entire nervous system, treatment should focus on full body relief. I would come in with pain in my back or neck, and Carly would also work on that; if my digestion was acting up, Carly worked on my stomach. Specific exercises were prescribed and I still have access to videos on how to do them and continue to utilize them. If this is your first time doing PF therapy you absolutely have to go to Fusion. They are very careful to not cause you more pain and to keep you comfortable in what is a very personal and emotionally difficult form of physical therapy. Privacy should also be a priority, and the Sherman Oaks office has rooms spread out so that you really feel like it's just you and the therapist. read more

They truly understand and empathize with what their patients have been through. The years of misdiagnosis and physical pain makes it hard to continue to seek help for endometriosis and pelvic floor. Heather is a brilliant physical therapist who was tremendously helpful with my pelvic floor problems. One reason I call her "brilliant" is that she also diagnosed unrelated symptoms that had my internist perplexed as a neurological condition, and advised me to see a neurologist which lead to a successful treatment. While medical visits can often be uncomfortable for me, her kindness, warmth and humor made visits to her office easy. This is an amazing place if you are looking for physical therapy! The staff is very kind and welcoming and I felt comfortable from my first assessment. I really appreciate their holistic approach. The incorporate yoga, pilates, stretching and more traditional physical therapy techniques so that the treatment plan is customized. They also provide really great and in-depth information with each session and exercises to do at home. They accept private pay and fees are due at the point of service but they will also try billing your insurance if you have a PPO so that you can get reimbursed if possible. I would highly recommend Fusion to anyone looking for a physical therapist especially a pelvic floor PT! read more
