Ron and Ephraim are amazing! Thank you for everything! I went here for several months to help me recover from a MCL tear that made me much weaker on one leg. My first appointment was around Christmas/new years and they were able to fit in me quickly for the initial exam. I saw a few different people at first and just booked whoever was available, but started to book Ron and Ephraim since their time and availability always seemed to work with my schedule. I could definitely feel my knee/leg getting stronger and was often sore (in a good workout kind of way) and they never pushed me when I couldn't complete any sets. They really listened to feedback when I was sore and had pain and adjusted the entire workout around my feedback as well as the post workout treatment. I had a great experience with everyone including the front desk which was great with providing the receipts I needed for my hsa/fsa claims. Amazing Care After Rotator Cuff Surgery I've been going to South Pacific Physical Therapy and couldn't be happier with my experience. My therapist, Ashkan, is truly the best. After having rotator cuff surgery on one shoulder--and then a year and a half later needing the same procedure on the other--Ashkan has been there every step of the way. I came in with serious back pain and sciatica on one side that eventually spread to the other. I could barely sit, lift my leg, or move with any real range of motion. It was affecting every part of my day. After about a month working with Ron, I made a full recovery. Ron is incredible at what he does. He does not just give you exercises, he makes sure you understand proper form, technique, and how your body should be moving. He is also great with stretching routines and pays very close attention to detail, which made a huge difference in my progress. What stood out most is how intentional and attentive he is during every session. You can tell he genuinely cares about getting you better, not just going through the motions. I have been coming to South Pacific Physical Therapy off and on since my first hip replacement in 2018 and for 2 surgeries since. After experiencing other PT facilities over the years, I have found South Pacific Physical Therapy to be the best. Doreen Akry, the owner, is superior in finding the exact exercise for recovery for each specific injury/surgery. The office staff is friendly and easy to deal with and the PT assistants (not sure if this is their correct job titles) in the gym are very well educated and very well trained. I had a weird experience here in January. First, I was running 15min late from work which I knew was a problem - so I called to ask if they still had time to see me and they said yes. But then when I came in, it seemed they were rushed and didn't have time for me so I wish they told me not to come in because I had a very subpar PT experience here. I would have rather paid and not come for the session so as to not waste their time or mine. Anyway, I had an assessment by Ashkan who seemed distracted/rushed. He asked me the same question multiple times regarding my knee injury. Then he showed me a couple of exercises and after watching me do it a couple of times, left the room. I was left waiting between each exercise while he left the room to make phone calls, etc.. I felt uncomfortable and had the instinct to leave which I wished I did early on. But he showed me 2-3 exercises this way (disappearing in between) and then brought in another woman to help me with the exercises and she asked me do one of the 3 we already did. It just felt very disjointed and not plugged in. They were inattentive and I was uncomfortable. When I was on floor, I could see all the dust balls all over the floor. It also looks like they don't keep their space very clean. Despite spending time trying to find an in network insurance, I won't be coming back here. Copay and time wasted. I understand I was late, but if they didn't have time for me, they should have told me they didn't have time/energy to see me. I've done PT in several other places over the years, and this by far was the worst experience. read more

Be aware if you pay out of your pocket, double check the time you spent in clinic and time they bill you. This clinic engages in dishonest billing practices and appears more focused on maximizing insurance reimbursement than delivering quality patient care. During each of my visits, I was in and out in under 30 minutes, yet the clinic consistently billed four timed CPT codes, which are intended to represent at least 32 minutes of one-on-one therapeutic treatment. This simply did not occur. Every session ended the same way: the therapist would place an ice pack on the treatment area and leave the room, with no supervision, no monitoring, and no therapeutic interaction. I was left lying there alone for approximately 10 minutes -- passive time that should not be billed as skilled therapeutic care, yet it was routinely charged as such. This is not an honest business. This clinic is doing the bare minimum while billing for the maximum, with no genuine concern for the patient's progress and recovery. This type of billing is not only unethical -- it may rise to the level of insurance fraud. Billing for time not spent, or for services not rendered, is both illegal and deceptive. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

Everyone who did physical work on my body and went through the physical exercises with me was quite good, especially Ephram, however, I have a really big issue with their extremely strict cancellation policy. I am a busy mom, just trying to juggle two young kids (who get sick a lot!) and work and also fit in PT 2x per week for my neck due to an accident. Their policy will charge you $50 if you cancel less than 24 hours for any reasons. They even TIME stamp your call. They are so hungry for this $50 fee they tried to charge me one time when I had called to reschedule with two days notice. Two weeks ago, I got a call to pick up my daughter from school who had a 104 degree fever (strep throat) and I had an appointment later that day. They were not understanding and charged me the $50 fee. Sorry I couldn't bring my super sick lethargic child into your office. The next week- I got strep throat as well. They told me I had to come in for my appointment or get charged another $50. So let me get this straight. You want tomorrow put the people who work on me also at risk for strep throat- the week of Thanksgiving? I went to the urgent care that morning and I drove all the way to the PT office to explain that my neck which was swollen could not be worked on. They asked me for a doctors note! Like I was in elementary school. I didn't know I needed a doctors note to be excused from another doctor? Then still not believing me...I had to pull up my bank account to show them I indeed had a copay at the urgent care that morning. Absolute insane behavior. I drove all the way with a 101 temp, to prove to you that I was sick so you wouldn't charge me another $50 fee and I was treated like a child. I don't care how good the PT is- if you are busy, or have small kids who get sick, then this place has absolutely no room for any slack in schedules. On to the next for sure. read more

Just another case of a woman of color being overlooked and misunderstood. Honestly these type of interactions and experiences is why there's 0 trust in the medical world for women of color. I forgot the owners name (going to find out) but I only went for her. To be seen by a woman who hopefully would've empathetic to my situation. I've birthed 2 children. One stillbirth angel baby and one brilliant earthling. I've been through a ton of physical changes from the back to back pregnancy's. The doctor called me vain. She spoke so fast it made my head spin. I asked if she was going to send me a report of what she was saying and she said "you should open your phone and take notes of what I've already said." I said oh ok can you please repeat yourself for me then and she was visibly annoyed and impatient. I ended up calling the next day and crying to the office manager because I was so upset. When the owner called me back she confirmed everything I already knew. She didn't really listen to me in the appt and took from it what she wanted. It's an incredibly frustrating thing to spend almost $200 as a single mother to get the care I need and to be made to feel small, unseen; and unheard. Instead of making it right the owner said when are you going to make another appt to come in. I'd never spend another dollar at this "practice" and they're lucky I didn't do a chargeback! Ron was fantastic to work with! He listened and took time to really understand what was going on with my body. Not only did he help me get my pain under control, but as things started to get better he was able to hone in on ways I was tweaking my back while starting regular studio class workouts. I have engaged with South Pacific Physical twice in the last three years and found them enormously helpful in both cases. Most recently I came to them to help strengthen my muscles around my back and core due to chronic spinal stenosis - after I had an epidural. I cannot say enough about Ron who was my therapist for nearly ten sessions. Doreen, the Director of the facility, is excellent! She has her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and is so knowledgeable, personable and caring. She created a special program for me which has greatly improved my issue. I have had experience with other facilities which can not compare to the competence of Doreen and her staff. Doreen and Richard, one of the PTs, are literally so hands on. They monitor every movement to make sure the exercises are done properly and give helpful feedback. I've been using South Pacific Physical Therapy for 5 years with two complete knee replacements a shoulder torn rotator cuff and other injuries. I'm always met by name by Elaine the ruler of the front desk, then I'm escorted to a therapy room where one of a half dozen certified therapists work with me. I usually have Doreen( owner) or Erica work my shoulder and knee. They are both excellent therapists. The crew in the gym led by Richard are all professional and knowledgeable about all my injuries. They have all the latest machines and various elements of torture that get you feeling better. I received a helpful diagnosis for my hip injury, but felt bit like a number on repeat visits. Also, they only take about 5 - 10 mins with you after the consultation to work through the exercises, so the whole appointment is only about 20 mins.
