Very affordable, professional, efficient, and family owned and operated. We received an estimate from Fence Lifts in June to replace ~130 feet of our backyard fence. We went ahead with scheduling in mid-July (said 8-12 week backlog) and finished the job in one day at the beginning of October (11 weeks exactly). They were very communicative throughout the process. The fence looks great. We upgraded to steel posts in the hopes that the fence will endure the winter storms similar to the ones that killed the original fence. I do not recommend Fence Lifts! We got a bid from Fence Lifts in 5/23. It took them 5 months after we received the bid for them to install the fence . After many cancelled appointments and a "no show" they finally arrived in September with the crew and supplies. Ready to install the fence. . Only to realize that they did not have the correct supplies. Apparently the estimator had incorrect information in the estimate so they didn't have the right materials to start the job. Another delay! The fence was installed on October 20, 2023. The bid stated that the steel posts to be concealed with redwood. However, only every other post was covered. Also, the guys informed me that they broke a couple of the sprinkler heads but would fix them before they finished the job. A few days later when the irrigation system was on there were MANY areas along the fence where the water was spewing from the pipes . I called to inform them of the exposed posted and.the many broken sprinkler heads and holes in the pipes. They corrected all of the issues, but they never apologized for the months of delays in starting the job, the uncovered posts and the many broker sprinkler heads and pipes. No I do not recommend Fence Lifts!! read more

Estimate and scheduling was quick and easy and they were very knowledgeable. I wanted to install a larger gate than on the original fence that they were replacing. I planned to keep the gate in the same location (simply because I hadn't considered relocating it) but they suggested installing the gate in a different location that greatly improved access and exceeded my expectations. My new fence is beautiful and more useful than the old and as soon as I am ready for the next stage of my massive fencing project (I love my giant yard, but it has SO MUCH fence), I will definitely be calling Chris at Fence Lifts again. I have waited about half a year to write this but can't hold out anymore. They were very quick with the job, price was normal for the job, but they are sloppy with their work (speed definitely over quality here). I have had them out at least twice already to fix my gate that was hung crooked, didn't latch right, and was attached to an old post that they failed to replace because, well, it would have been hard to do? I paid them to replace my entire gate and fence but they chose to not replace it all and leave a section of old fence, without informing me. My main issue that still isn't fixed is that there are nails all over that someone just pounded through the boards then just hammered them flat against the wood on the opposite side. They obviously ran out of nails that were the correct size or were just lazy. There are also random screws. This is in the inside of my fence, where my kids play. It's not acceptable to leave sharp metal poking out in my opinion. I have contacted them many times to fix the nails. They would come out, fix something else, then I get home to see nothing was done about the nails. Last time I was promised by the owner he would come out personally to fix it...tomorrow. Tomorrow came and went, I followed up, he said he would come out and now it's been another 3 weeks without communication. I am too busy to deal with this company and their ineptitude. I will be hiring another company to fix all their mistakes. read more

I had set up an initial consultation appointment with Chris to get a quote for an old worn out, rotten, gate I needed to get replaced. He showed up on time and gave a reasonable quote (I believe about $275 for a 4' x 6' gate). I had agreed on the price and had set up a date. If I recall correctly the lead time was about a month out due to the busyness of the rainy season. And therein lies the biggest problem I had encountered. Since I hadn't heard from him and it was the day before our scheduled appointment, I decided to call just to make sure we were still on. Well as it turned out when I called he said he wasn't going to be able to make it the appointment His reason was that it got too busy. But not only that; he would not give me a new commitment date. The fact that I had to call him to find this out, rather than him having the courtesy to call me when he decided that he was too busy to do my small job was very disappointing to say the least. The only reason I didn't give just 1 star was because his initial quote was reasonable and he was timely in showing up to the first appointment. My assessment of why this happened is a matter of simple economics. If you have a smaller job, and a bigger $$ job presents itself to him (even after he has committed to doing the work), there is a possibility you will get stood up like a high school girl on prom night. I would have been much more understanding of this if he would have been upfront in the beginning about that. read more

I wouldn't recommend Fence Lifts. Customer service is terrible and that is the most important thing for me. He did not return emails, texts, or calls in a timely manner. I had to keep calling to check in to see when he could fit my small fence project in his schedule and he kept saying he didn't have his schedule put together just yet. Even after 6 days, he still didn't have a schedule and I felt like he was stringing me along since my project was so small and he had bigger projects to tend to and he would get back to me at his convenience. I ended up hiring an awesome company, prices were better, and they came out in the morning for an estimate and completed my fence the same day. We decided to go wth Fence Lifts after getting several quotes because the reviews were good overall and the price seemed reasonable. Chris was good about communicating along the way and let us know what day and time they would arrive, which was appreciated. We share the fence with a neighbor who would need to pay half, so we just asked for something similar to what we had, which was pretty basic. Chris arrived with his crew as scheduled, but he said he had to leave to take care of something and would be back later. He didn't return and called to ask me to just give the check to his crew when they were done. The fence is very basic (good neighbor style), with one cross board on top and one on the bottom. They also installed a new gate. I wish Chris had told us about different options, even if they cost a little more, because since they installed it, I've looked more closely at other fences and noticed that some have three cross boards, for instance, which makes it more solid and closes the gap at the bottom. There are also nicer gate options which I may have been willing to pay extra for. We were newbies though, having never done this before, and to be fair, we asked for basic and that's what we got. However, there were some other issues that we were not happy about. The quality of the boards was one. (I attached a photo showing an example.) A few of the boards were completely shredded on the edges. Also, one was split when they installed it with a nail, and I had Chris come back to replace it. The crew also left some nails sticking out of the wood here and there and did a sloppy job with the cement footings and left chunks of cement all over. I think it would be a good idea for Chris to at least come back and check their work. I would if it was my business and reputation. Overall, 3 stars as we asked for a basic fence, got a basic fence, and they were on time and communicated well. read more
