AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Went to another shop who quoted me over $3,000 to replace a bad catalytic converter. I share the car with my daughter and our budget could not handle this type of repair, but it was not an option. The stress and worry about this was overwhelming. I decided to get another bid and drive by Bobby's Fenton Auto Repair everyday. So I stopped by and he was getting ready to close but was so kind. I explained the check engine light was coding a bad catalytic converter and the vehicle was barely running. He took down all my information and called the very next day. His estimate came back at 1/3 of the first bid. He scheduled me in within a week. He was very affordable and fast, I was even able to afford a tune up w/ new plugs. I dropped off the car before work and it was done and ready to be picked up by the time I got off work. Our vehicle is like driving a new car, we are so excited, no more issues at all and the check engine light hasn't come back on. This little auto place does exceptional business. I have had a few interactions with them and all I can say is, I found nothing but extreme honesty and reliability. I took my son's 2003 Mercury sable into another Fenton business for a simple safety inspection and left with a laundry list of repairs "recommended" or needed to pass. I brought it here for a second opinion and not only did they NOT think the repair was needed, they didn't charge me for anything except for the inspection. There are not a lot of small business left that believe service the customer and not the dollar, but after 41 years, George the owner must be doing something right. If I could give this place NO stars I would, but it made me pick one. The man that runs this place is the most disrespectful person I have dealt with EVER! My 17 year old son needed car repairs, at 17 we are trying to let him do these things on his own so he is prepared for the real world......however once this place changed their quote twice and treated my son like a piece of garbage, I wanted my husband to call to get the details......the man was RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL and even called us "you people" when referencing us. I had transferred the $1500 into my sons account to go ahead and pay for the repairs even tho they seemed a little high....but after the disrespect we picked my sons car up to take it elsewhere. One the last great repair shops in the area! I have used George Orphan's shop several times in the last 10 years for major repairs and each time it has been a pleasure. George and his staff are very knowledgeable, honest and reasonable. George will tell you he takes pride in running an honest shop and he would rather have a repeat customer than try to squeeze every dime out of you on one trip (like a dealer). On several occasions I have called for troubles and George has advised me on things I can check myself before brining a vehicle in for repair. My last repair was replacing brake lines on my old truck. The final bill was actually about $200 less than quoted and the brakes have operated perfectly since. They have also worked on our newer vehicles over the years and we have been 110% satisfied every time. I would never take my car anywhere else. I used to just bring it here for state inspections but, one time, my regular car repair place gave me an estimate that I thought was out of line so I took it to Fenton Auto Repair for a second opinion. They ended up fixing everything for about 1/2 the price of the other place. This is the only place I trust not to take advantage of me. The owner has a bit of a gruff exterior, but his knowledge and reasonable prices more than compensates. I've recommended him on several occasions. Thank you, George! read more

My fiancee had her car towed to this place after it over heated. When she called about it being towed there she was immediately met with attitude and the fact she would be charged which was just unnecessary since obviously she didn't expect them to look at it for free. The next day, they looked at it and gave her an estimate of which she told them to fix it. Today I called to inquire about why she was charged $465.00 for a new cooling fan with a modual. I was immediately met with being over talked and how they charge full blown retail on parts of which is fine. But I called a dealer for ford and the most expensive fan with modual they sell for that car is $178.00. They immediately told me no way and kept going on about other things like the old one was full of water. But it was being replaced so it didn't matter WHAT it was full of. Long story short, they took full advantage of her and flat out lied about the cost of the part. Should of charged more for labor than this ridiculous price for a fan. Says they are not refunding any money and won't tell me where they bought the part so I'm on to the next steps like this review, filing a complaint with the BBB and calling city hall to file a fraud complaint and see about taking them to small claims court. It's ridiculous to take advantage of a woman like this!!! They've been in business a long time so stuff like this hasn't been going on since they opened. I'm sure they've taken advantage of others as we'll and or they're just starting this new practice but either way. I will not let this go and just a warning to others. Be Leary of this place and ask in detail about your bill. If it wasn't for me being out of town, I would never of agreed to being sold a part almost over 3 times it's retail.
