I knew damn well I didn't need rotors and after coming here I was made aware I didn't really need pads either and that the squeak in my braking was a little defect in the rotor that might have been caused by dust. So they squared me away with the simple tire rotation. As an individual that can't afford thousands of dollars in repairs unless it's absolutely needed I really appreciated the honesty. There hometown auto now and there under new management but the place was awesome and I'd definitely recommend it from my experience.

The ONLY repairs he does are those that are needed. Trust is a hard thing to find and keep these days but I know through and through if Adam says its needed - then it's needed. Case in point. I had my 78 Corvette in for an oil change since it needed it and I'd be out of town for a month so I couldn't do it. What I didn't expect is that the oil person noticed a very few ever so slight and small silver specks when draining the oil. (No other place would have noticed I tell ya.) Come to find out I was losing a piston skirt on the #7 cylinder of the engine. I had to do the engine rebuild to fix it but that paying attention, to even the most mundane of tasks, was the difference in an easy rebuild of a couple grand or whole engine replacement from catastrophic failure totaling about over eight. No doubt there are good shops out there but I don't believe there is a better one than O'Keanes.

I have used Dobbs before and I have been happy with the service and price. This time there was a serious breakdown in communication between the manager and the mechanic working on my F150. It was well established between me and the manager that with regards the rear differential that they were to extract the oil using the positive displacement suction fluid extractor to remove the oil from the rear differential. I did not want the housing cover removed or the gasket R&R. However a two hour job became a four hour job because somewhere the communication between the manager and mechanic broke down and the mechanic did remove the rear differential housing cover. This was a 2017 F150 with less than 100,00 miles and had never experienced any leaks what-so-ever. Only when I inquired as to why it was taking so long was I informed of the situation. I am not disappointed in the work quality, except for the fact that my rear differential looks like a third rated shop performed the task with all the sealant all over the housing. However, I am disappointed with the system failures at Dobbs. One being the lack of communication and staffing. The manager was also performing tasks on other cars while the other mechanic worked on my truck. The computer system there is jury rigged and the manager had to quite frequently shuttle from a computer in the bay to a computer in the reception area, and he was overwhelmed. The shop was severely under staffed and the manager was overloaded with other tasks probably contributing to the communication failure between the two men. Also, they should have provided a lifetime warranty against that seal leaking. It had never leaked since day one and as I said I had almost 100,000 miles on it. I only got 12 months, 12,000 mi warranty on the rear differentisl for leak as I see it. Common knowledge would be when seals are changed the is a greater chance of leaks after that. Now I haven't given up yet on Dobbs, but the higher up guru's need to take a better look at how that shop is managed and operated.

Anytime they are working on my car and have a question or concern he does not hesitate to call me and ask/inform me of what is going on or other possible safety issues that need fixed or may need fixed in the near future. Most shops around here do not have this courtesy and just pick and choose what they feel like fixing without considering what the owner of the vehicle wants. Went through my insurance company for road side assistance. I missed his call originally. I called…read morehim back and he told me what the next steps were. I went to my van and did as he requested. I texted him to see if he got all the information he needed and my number got blocked by the driver. Because I had no way of knowing if he was going to pick up my vehicle, due to my phone being BLOCKED by driver I called my insurance to let them know the situation. The representative told me the driver was rude to her for following up and he hung up on her. He called me and started getting very rude asking why I called the insurance company. I ended up disconnecting my call because of his rudeness and had my insurance call a different towing company. I believe the driver said his name was Michael Hemann.
