First class organization. Service Manager, Edward Starks, helped my son the day we were packing to send him back to Mizzou for fall 2025 move-in. We couldn't get a door put back properly onto our Bronco, my husband was overseas for work and the two of us needed assistance. We called each Ford dealer who refused to take a look. Thankfully one of them suggested Complete Auto Repair. Edward offered to take an immediate look and was able to determine there was no serious issue - the door was making a terrible sound at the hinge, and we wanted to be sure there was nothing wrong. He helped my son get the door back onto the vehicle and at no charge and we were able to get on the road on time (I had the afternoon off from work so little flexibility). The muffler on the car was bouncing around the undercarriage. Something was wrong. It turns a a strap broke. I've never heard of this place before but it was nearby when we noticed it so we stopped in. The old man that works there is super nice... I think his name was Joseph. He quickly put the car on the lift, showed us what was wrong, and quoted a price that was reasonable, albeit more than we could afford at that time. He was concerned with us driving around with the muffler like that and even offered a free loaner vehicle if we wanted to leave it there. We decided to use a place closer to home after the fact... and wished we would have left it with Joseph in the first place. He was cheaper, nicer, and we would have had that loaner while it was being serviced. read more

I purchased a Groupon for 3 free oil changes from Complete Auto Repair in Ballwin. When I called to schedule my first appointment for my oil change I was met with a very rude man who didn't communicate well due to a language barrier. I really should have just taken note and returned the Groupon but I was hopeful that I would be able to get my 3 free oil changes and move on with my life. Long story short, I couldn't simply bring my Groupon in, in this case Groupon was acting as a middle man and I had to contact another company to get a physical coupon mailed to me at home before I could even schedule an oil change. A week later my coupon came in the mail and I scheduled my oil change for Saturday, September 1, 2012. When I arrived for my oil change I knew immediately that the man helping me at the counter was the same man I dealt with on the phone because of his accent and rude nature. He told me to fill out some paperwork and give him my keys. He never greeted me, told me where to wait or gave me an expected time frame. He just simply made me fill out a sheet and told me to give him my keys. I followed him outside because he's a big man and I'm 5 foot tall and knew he may run into trouble adjusting my seats. He gets in my car and sits there for 3 minutes while he has a phone conversation. I was so upset to see this man just get in my car and handle his personal affairs. My property is not the place for him to take phone calls. After chilling out in my car for 3 minutes he finally pulls it into the center of 3 servicing spots in the garage (that had been free the entire time he was on the phone) I was so suspicious of him, I decided to follow behind him as he pulled my car into the garage. I then watched as he swung my car door open, with utter negligence and it slammed into a metal pillar that separates each servicing area. Baffled, I plow into the garage exclaiming that I need him to repair my car and telling him that I don't want to be serviced here. I also got my video camera out at this time because of a recent collision I was in that I failed to get documentation of, I wanted to make sure I didn't repeat that mistake. He became so hostile that I had my camera on that he shoved me and yelled at me to get out of his garage and I simply shouted back that I wanted to take my car out of here and I would not be doing business with him. I called the police and filed an assault charge and then called my insurance to report the claim. 3 hours of my day were stolen from me and I lost productivity because of this incident that was suppose to be a 'deal' and a convenience. Not to mention the Saint Louis County Police who reported to the scene were also rude and I guess felt that shoving a woman was okay if you were irritated at her for video recording you vandalizing her car. Unbelievable. Please, do not go to this business. It will be a mistake. read more

I discovered Complete Auto Repair when I relocated to Ballwin MO. To cut to the chase, they are superb. I have an older Porsche Boxster and a late model year Chevrolet Silverado pick-up. Little did I know that 4 of the mechanics are also trained on European automobiles. Obviously, they are extremely knowledgeable on all Domestic and Japanese and Korean autos. When parts are required they have a supplier that provides parts built to original manufacturer specifications--but for less than you will paid at dealerships. They have all the how-to and parts data bases for every auto out there. I was amazed at their in-depth knowledge of all tires. And no inferior oil is ever used in oil changes. My Porsche needed serious work. They discussed every thing the found as they went through the Boxster. They replaced no parts without my prior knowledge. They offered alternatives if needed. I was never better informed of every step of maintenance than I was at Complete Auto Care. Oh, and after the repairs, the Porsche ran and drove better than at any time since I bought it. read more

My Audi S4 threw a CEL and multiple codes and wasn't driveable. Every other shop in town told me to wait at least a month or just go away. These guys found the problem in an hour (it was a fuel injector that wasn't plugged in completely). Anytime an Audi dies it can mean thousands of $$$. These guys had me back on the road in less than 24 hours for less than what I anticipated! Chris and Stanton were very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. A week ago I got my safety inspection done here, based on that visit I would give 5 stars, so if you know your car will pass inspection feel free to go to this place. My car did not pass inspection, the owner had left for the day and I was told he would give me a call the next day (Saturday) and give me a quote on a ball joint and 2 tires. By the time I get to calling this place back to inquire about a price, because I never received a call back, it was Tuesday. I talked to Chris, the owner, he said he would look into it and give me a call back in a little while. It is not Thursday. I don't consider 2 days to be "a little while". I called a different car repair shop that is within sight of this place that I have used before and told them what was going on, I have an appointment Tuesday (it's a holiday weekend, and Tuesday is my next day off) to drop my car off. Owner of competitor said he was aware this place does not have a good reputation. Moral of the story, pick somewhere else to go. read more

Real scam artist, took my 2002 Dodge ram in for a inspection. He found a few things wrong which I was aware of but they would not keep it from failing, so I wanted to pay and leave and he looked at me like he was very confused that I knew what would pass and what would fail I have been a mechanic for 25+ years. A couple of days later me and the wife we're going to the movies and when I started the truck I noticed a loud ticking, which I immediately assumed an exhaust gasket leak, figuring the truck has close to 200,000 miles on it it was probably due. The next morning I was checking to see where the leak was and noticed not one but two exhaust manifold bolts that are easily accessed when the wheel is off were broke off clean (shiny metal no rust) so it was definitely freshly done because it would have started rusting immediately remember not one but two bolts ! So frustrated knowing what they have done that I could not prove it I decided to try to do the repairs and when I was going to take out another bolt to match it up to get the new ones, it would not release, steel bolts seized into an aluminum head is normal for an engine that has never been apart with that many miles, so what they were trying to do was loosen up my exhaust manifold to create a leak so that I would come back to them and have them make a repair. I have been the only mechanic to do any work on this truck since the warranty was out at around 36,000 miles, so I know for a fact that they were the ones to do this ! Being so frustrated and aggravated about what was going on and knowing the cost and time it was going to take to tear this truck apart to do the repairs I went to the dealership that day and traded it in. This business has a new owner, Chris, and is no longer run by Joseph. He retired and sold the business to Chris. Joseph could be abrasive and very, very direct, but I trusted him. Once I realized that was his style, I knew what to expect and it didn't bother me. Chris on the other hand is "slick" and very untrustworthy. I went there last week (3-26-2014) for an emissions test. My car failed the emissions test and he told me that it failed on 2 items. "Probably" the second was caused by the first and we should fix that then worry about the second. Made perfect sense to me so that's what we did even though the cost would be over $700. If this didn't fix the second problem then it would be another $900 to $1000 to repair. I was told to drive the car for a couple of days and see if my engine light came on or not. I shared the info with a friend and he said I was charged way too much for the repairs. We took my car to 2 other repair shops and was told the same thing. One mechanic actually slapped his forehead and was speechless after I showed him the bill!!! Additional repairs were needed after all and when I went to other shops for price quotes I was quoted about half the cost of the $900 to $1000 he had told me. My car had passed the safety inspection, just not the emissions but he didn't give me the paper work for the "pass" part of the safety inspection. When I returned to the shop to get it and told him what I had been quoted for the second set of repairs his price came down....to about half. I will never offer any business to this shop again and hopefully whoever is reading this won't either. I recommend you take time to shop around. Yes, it is inconvenient, but apparently worth it. And remember, when you are shopping around........skip Complete Auto!!! read more

Worst service experience of my life. After completion of my services, they attempted to charge me fees I was not made aware of and were not in writing, claiming it was their shop policy. When I explained why I didn't want to pay the surprise fees, the manager YELLED at me and called me a "silly American" for expecting to not pay for the fees. I have never been treated so poorly at a shop in my life, and will not be returning. I suggest you do not visit unless you want to pay unexpected fees and have a man scream at you for several minutes in front of other customers. read more

I went here twice. First time for Auto inspection, it went well. After couple of months I went again for an oil change and also explained about a problem that I was facing, my car does not crank until 4 or 5 times turning the key, a click sound comes for first few times and then it starts normally. This is what I explained, but the owner insisted to do a electrical test for 36 dollars and its not free (rudely). These were the words used by him, well I agreed for it. After 1.5 hrs. of testing he says Battery is old and needs replacement, and the quote was 189 dollars. I said I would do it later. I thought I would do it myself, I believed him and went to Costco and changed my battery for 110$ and I gave my core Lexus battery to Costco. First day it was ok, but later it was giving same problem. I went to one of the NAPA Auto care center and said the same thing, he just understood it, took the car inside and tested it for free, and later came back and said solenoid switch is gone bad. Replacement cost altogether it took 350 $. And now there are no issues. But I lost 36$ (testing) and 110$ (new battery) and my original core Lexus battery (taxes separate) because of poor testing (or god knows what was the intention) by "Complete Auto Repair". They also quote high prices. I don't recommend this to anyone. They put a BBB accredited board which I believe is fake. Please check the website it says this shop is not registered and not accredited. Beware of false claims and rip off. read more
