I was stressed, car was overheating, I was way away from home, just not a good time...plus, let's be real, my work car (the one broken) isn't the nicest gem lol. So I called Roy's because they were right by where I was dead. I'm glad I did :) I didn't have anything but nice employees through this whole process. They were able to very quickly (dropped it off on a Thursday expected for a Monday/Tuesday appointment...I get a call Friday afternoon with an update! I know that's not the norm, but I'll take it ). Couple hundred miles on so far, no issues outside of the ones that were already there lol. I'll be bringing our fleet to these guys moving forward. Thank you guys for the great experience! As a side note to pricing; it was right in line with what I would imagine anyone else would be. Friendly and communicative service, helped me figure out getting my vehicle towed there, called with updates and took their time explaining everything to me in terms I could understand. Service turnaround time was great, and they came in under budget for what they quoted me. My conclusion was "Well, this is where I am taking my vehicles to get serviced from now on." read more

Made an appointment to drop my car off this morning due to the Airbag sensor light continually blinking. They only charged for the Diagnostics. They found it was just a loose sensor connection under the front passenger seat. Great staff there! Honest.... read more

Unethical. They failed one tire on a state inspection and tried to sell me two new tires. I decided to check with the place where I originally purchased the tires, and they said there was wear but did not need to be replaced. Then I went to another shop, and the vehicle passed inspection, and I was only informed about the tire wear. Roy's was trying to sell me unneeded tires. I also asked about additional work on my vehicle, and they quoted me substantially higher prices that other shops in the area. I will not return. read more

To be honest Roy's is the only place I trust. All of Manchester is littered with sleazy and crummy mechanics trying to rip you off the first chance they can. Everytime I have gone to Roy's they have always try saving me money where they could, doing excellent work, being cost effective making sure they are always reasonable with there pricing for any job, as well as referring me to great people if they are unable to do the work. They are the only mechanic shop near me that I trust. read more

We moved to the Manchester area two years ago, and prior to taking our vehicles to Roy's we went to dealerships since they seemed more trustworthy than your average shop. We have had both minor and complicated repairs done by this shop and they are honest, thorough, and priced well every single time. I trust these guys 100% to let me know whether or not I actually need service done, which speaks volumes considering most auto-shops will just do the work based on the mileage and dealer recommendations regardless. We tell everyone how wonderful this shop is, and always refer them. They are generally very busy, so just make sure you make an appointment at least a week or so ahead of time if not an emergency! read more

This is an honest to goodness auto repair shop. They are professional and competent and they went out of the way to diagnose my electrical system for no charge. Turns out my battery ground needed cleaning. 10 bucks for the service and I was back on the road. Also, they gave me a quote on an alternator that was half the price of my dealership. Roy's fixed it and no more alternator problem. Routine maintence was done properly and at a very fair price. Go to Ray's with confidence. read more

I'm extremely happy with the service at Roy's. My daughter is going to college nearby but family lives 4 hours away. The odd electrical issues she was having were hard to address with her so far away. AAA wound up towing the car to Roy's one night after we trusted AAA's recommendation about Roy's. They were able to attend to the unscheduled appointment the next day and determined a simple fix related to a battery cable. Upon picking up the car, apparently her jump starting had blown the headlight bulbs which they also then took care of in short order. The car is running great once again. The big thanks here is that she was due to come home for Thanksgiving break. We were concerned about having to travel down and then having to hope to leave the car at the shop for a week. We were further concerned that she might have to stay down there into Thanksgiving week to address the car while her campus was empty. They were very sympathetic to our plight and did all they could to help her get home to enjoy family for the holiday. Very satisfied with service from Roy's Auto. I had been to Firestone on four different occasions about the same issue. The last time I dropped it off Firestone told me they would work on it first thing in the morning but they did not call me until 2 days later. Even worse Firestone told me they couldn't start my car and wanted an additional $80 to diagnose the starting system. I had enough, picked up my car (it started first try), and drove straight to Roy's and dropped it off. Roy's didn't know when I would get in because I didn't have an appointment. The next morning around 9 AM I received a call stating they found the issue, told me the price to fix it, and it was ready that night. 5 stars for honesty, appropriate expectations, and quality of work. read more

Roy's has been around forever but since Manchester Rd is always a nightmare I've never visited. Needed an oil change and they squeezed me in the following day. Long story short, they didn't try to sell me tires, brakes or shocks and struts or whatever else other auto repair shops con you into replacing. They were also honest when I went to get my emissions and safety. Considering I had to say some unfriendly words to a place I will not mention down the street because they failed my safety. I'm not an idiot - my tires had enough tread to survive an entire winter. I've met two honest auto repair shops in the 15 years of living in Saint Louis. I've been taking my car there for years (its old and has lots of miles on it). I have found them to be honest and fair, and don't try to talk you into things you don't need. Lately though, the quotes they give over the phone have been off by about $200. I suggest you get a name from whoever quotes you. I spoke to the manager once and he was pretty helpful about it but I know someone else this happened to also. I will continue to take my business there. read more

These guys are great and trustworthy. I went to the dealership last week to get the oil changed in my Toyota Camry and was told I needed multiple items replaced and changed on my vehicle. (Totaling $565.00) Thinking I should get a second opinion, I scheduled an appointment at Roy's a few days later to find that my vehicle didn't need any of those services. Roy's Auto Repair is the best auto shop I've used in 23 years of driving. They've always had great pricing. Their service is fast and has never required me to return with new problems like other shops. When I've gone to them in emergency situations, they've squeezed me in. This is the only mechanic who has-on more than one occassion-told me that I didn't need to do work that I thought I did when they could have just done it and charged me a load of money.
