So I looked this spot up being that they're nearby and the one I usually go to is closed for the holidays. When I arrived on Saturday there weren't too many people. Maybe four or five other cars in need of the same service. I'll say this - they're as organized as they can be for the smell space they have. We've been here twice in one week period! First time was two nails in one tire each. Very fast and professional. Unlike most tire shops they didn't try to screw us over. The third time we went was because we got a third nail. I was closed to another tire shop so I panic and got it plugged there. He tried to tell me the tire is not reparable. But will just plugged it anyways. I went back to this spot here so I can get it patched instead and a second opinion. The tire was repairable and even got an education on where to it wouldn't be. Fernando's was one of the few places open on a Sunday in Oakland. Drove over later in the morning. Only space for two cars, but luckily no one else was there. Friendly staff took me in right away, found a nail almost immediately, and said they could patch it. Took about 15 minutes. They got it done, no fuss. The service at Fernando's was amazing! I was in and out within 20 minutes. I went to Fernando's to get my tire checked. I ran into a pothole, which raptured my tire. Unfortunately the tire couldn't be fixed. The staff took a quick look at it and suggested a replacement. They gave me an option of new or used tire. I went with a used tire. The staff quickly replaced my tire and added air to my spare tire too. The replacement and service cost was reasonable and affordable. Wow! Best service by Mauricio and Fernando here, they saved my day!! - I had driven clear across California and had a flat tire before the trip, repaired at another shop, but apparently they had put the tire on OUTSIDE IN and crammed the rim causing a slow leak. Egads. We all had a rueful laugh about that! Mauricio carefully rotated my tire in a tire bath (first time I'd seen one of these!) and determined there weren't any nails or leaks. He also carefully polished and reshaped my rim, triple checked his work, happily singing all while working...seriously these guys are so nice, fun, and kind. I am SO glad I found such a great shop! I really liked this place. I recently had a flat tire due to a nail and needed to find a place nearby to fix the hole. I came across Fernando's Tire Service through Yelp and was impressed by their overall reviews. I called in to see if the service I needed was offered and then proceeded to ask if I was ok if I come in within the next 5-10 minutes...since I was just down the street. The gentleman on the phone said it was fine. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a few young gentlemen. They were very polite, honest, and knowledgeable. At first, they asked if I wanted to do a used or new tire and I replied with used. But then after calling my dad about the situation with my tire, he said I should ask if they can patch the hole instead since my tire is still relatively new. One of he workers said they could patch the tire for a price of $65. The guy inspected my tire and found there as indeed a nail. Overall, the process took about 40 mins? There were a few people already there who were getting their tires changed. I'd come here again and totally recommend it to people who are in the Oakland area. read more

Unprofessional and Disorganized - Don't Waste Your Time I've been a loyal customer of Fernando's Tire Shop in East Oakland for years, but after this recent experience, I'll never return. Months ago, I came to Fernando's to have a tire mounted on a spare rim I purchased. The original owner, Fernando, personally promised me he'd take care of it. He assured me he'd call when the wheel was ready, but months passed, and I never heard a word. I had to chase him down and call myself, at which point he told me it should be ready. Because of the significant delays and my own busy schedule, I wasn't able to pick it up immediately. When I finally came in today, I learned Fernando no longer owns the shop--his younger brother now runs it. I explained the situation to the workers, who put me in touch with the new owner. Here's where things went completely sideways. The new owner flat-out refused to take any responsibility for the prior arrangement, which I understand to a degree. But this is a family-run business, and I wasn't asking for much--just to contact Fernando or get his info so I could work out a resolution. The new owner wouldn't even do that. In the end, I lost both money and valuable time. The fact that their internal family issues spilled over into my customer experience is completely unacceptable. As a customer, I shouldn't be caught in the middle of their disorganization or lack of communication. It's not just about the tire--it's about the principle. I've supported this shop for years, but after this ordeal, I'll take my business elsewhere. If you're considering coming here, think twice--your time and money deserve better. read more

Highly HIGHLY recommend Fernando's. This was the most pleasant experience I have ever had with a tire shop. Never going to take my car anywhere else again! I woke up to my tire completely flat. I immediately panicked because I have encountered issues with different shops in the past not being able to patch (because my tires are RF) and usually shops don't have my tire in stock and leave me without a tire for days. When I called Fernando's, they were so kind and assured me that they should be able to patch it, and if not they'd help me with a temporary solution until they could get a new tire for me.
