Requested an alignment, had an emergency and was a bit late for my appointment for alignment and the guy just told me he had to go eat and that I lost my appointment. That he was gonna do another job for more money than mine, so he rather do that job than my alignment. I even offered him to pay for his lunch on the spot, because there is a taco shop right there. Very, very happy with my purchase today a used tire that looked like it was brand new was only $75 with free installation. Comparatively speaking, Amazon sells the brand new tires for $75 and you have to pay a guy $30 to put it on. Also, I was very happy when they showed us where the hole was on the old tire. read more

I came to get my tires balanced, I pulled in not ONE person tried to help me or guide me where to go and park. I had to wave someone down and still a lot of them just starred at me like I was crazy. Terrible service. These guys scraped my new wheels and damaged my tire sensors after they swapped my tires from my old wheels to my new ones. Took my car to Ortiz in Sept 2024 after we found a nail in the tire and had a bad experience at a tire shop in Alameda. The alameda shop took the nail out, but did not patch it. Smh! As you can assume, the tire started deflating and we didn't understand why. Took it to Ortiz and they got us in right away. They were able to find the hole, patch up the tire, and we have no problems now. They informed us the tire was not patched and that's why it was deflating. We will be taking our car for now on to Ortiz, grateful we found them. Great value and great customer service. read more

Got a nail embedded in my tire two days ago- replaced it with the donut. My money was tight so I read the reviews, called them up- they had the tire in stock (used $50). No appointment needed. I drove 20 minutes and was literally in and out in less than 20 minutes. I pulled in- there's someone working on a car everywhere. If you pull in- just know it might be a tight fit depending on how many cars are in the lot. There's a taco truck on the premises so I grabbed a bite. And in the time it took me to eat my taco- my tire was changed. $50 in and out including labor. Super fast, convenient, friendly and the taco truck is the bonus! I'll be back! I would of gave them 4 stars last year but unfortunately with my last experience from them I gotta give them 2 stars . This has always been my go to for new or used tires . They sell them at a reasonable price and get your tires on fast . They open early to 6pm so if your ever in a jam you can go there . It's off international so not much parking except for in the lot which can get congested sometimes , but there is a taco truck you can order from to distract you . The reason I have to give them 2 stars is because of my last experience. I got a used front right tire 2/10/19 . Few days after I left I noticed my car was off balance . I went to two different shops and they told me I had the wrong size tire on my front . When i came back and showed them the receipt asking for my money back he told me he couldn't return it but if I found a new one he'd put it on for free .. and that the wrong size tire can't throw off my balance . I don't understand why he couldn't refund me when clearly one of your employees is just putting any size tire on anyone's car ! So I left , found found the right size and got it installed for 40$ ( same price I paid here ) I came back with my receipt asking for my money back because I got the right size tire installed and was told again the one they sold me and put on was throwing the balance off my car . He said ok and took the tire off just to find out it was morphed , again from being the wrong size . He apologized and even said HE KNEW WHICH EMPLOYEE DOES THIS BECAUSE IT ISN'T THE FIRST TIME ! I got my money and left . My car is riding better now . No thanks to them . Long story short they sell tires here cheap but I wouldn't trust them to install it for you if you don't know much about tires . I learned something new from this experience lol . I'm so glad I found this place. I was trying to do my brakes at home on a 2020 Dodge Charger hellcat, but I could not break the lug nuts loose. I went to 3 (wheels services, Rico's tires, and A1) tire shops and none could help me out A1 tires said they might even have to burn my wheel! After finding Ortiz tires I will not go anywhere else for my wheel and tire needs. They went above and beyond to get the job DONE! My only issue with this place is the language barrier. It definitely complicates things when these fellas can't understand me. BUT this place is still fantastic! I've come here twice and my boyfriend before me and they have not disappointed. Pricing is great and they are VERY QUICK. Because this place is so popular near my house, they can be very busy but it is worth it to get these prices and speed once you do get a spot. They were $20-to-$30 less than every other local tire shop quote to move tires from one set of loose wheels to another + balance. I had no appt. on a Sunday and they did it almost as fast as I could unload the wheels from my car ! Will definitely go back here for all my tire needs as they are the lowest cost with safe and fast work without the fluff. Saturday 3/30 I was going to hang with a friend for lunch. We were driving to San Leandro when she noticed my left rear tire ( '99 Ford Explorer Limited) was bumping weirdly- we got to a Valero just past the Oakland border and found I'd run over a screwdriver. I called AAA who suggested a shop at 98th but it was closed, so I was towed to Ortiz. I was worried re: the crowd but they had like 5 people working and they got me in hella quickly, pulled a tire ($50) and changed it out - 25 minutes total from when I was dropped off. I'd been freaking out because I had to pick my kid up from a hangout and I didn't want to be late and they made sure I wasn't. Don't worry about the language stuff- they'll find someone to translate if needed and get everything correct and they are super super nice. Will be using them again for sure. Great spot! read more

Super quick, cost $10 to patch a leaking tire. They did fill it up to 38PSI when spec is 33PSI so that's why I'm at 4 rather than 5 stars.

This place is fantastic. I came here after going up to another shop in Uptown where they were going to charge me $30 more than what I was quoted over the phone on the day before. On a rainy Sunday, there was a line out the parking lot with 3-4 cars being serviced at a time (the minivan in front of me actually backed out and left). They took my 2 rear tires out, mounted and balanced the replacements (which I had brought with me), moved the front older tires to the back, and put the new tires on the front. Best part was that they quoted me $40 over the phone and then only charged me $35; I was so happy that I tipped them an extra $10 (which was still $25 cheaper than the shop in Uptown). Not sure why living in Oakland means always keeping the name of a tire place handy (do they scatter the streets with nails?) but put this one on your short list. 1. They are open on days when other tires places on International Ave are not. 2. They are kind and fully staffed- I've never seen less than 5 techs standing ready with jacks to get you in and out fast. 3. They do good work and are inexpensive- They are always sure to put anything that comes out of my car (spare, wheel lock key) right back where they got it.
