I recently ate a whole bag of Black Forest gummy worms while watch Magnum P.I. marathon (the original with Tom Selleck) At first I thought they tasted like a rubber doll that you get a the flea market that's been sitting in my Aunt Gia's attic since the Eisenhower administration. But they sorta grew on me. They're not as sweet as my beloved Haribo but after I got over that I realized that hey these wormy things are good! They have a slight tart to them but that gives them character. Also no artificial coloring or flavor. You gotta love it!

Don't come here looking for a big size factory candy store. Its actually a very small but cute charming store locate in Forest Park right off 290. I came here this morning to get some candy for an event for one of my friends. The store opens at 7:30AM on Saturday and closed on Sunday. There were no other customers when I made it there this morning. I walked inside and there were 2 employees talking. No one ever said Good Morning... How are you? What brings you in this morning? Not one word. Since customer service is very important to me. I had to knock off 2 stars. One star for not acknowledging a customer. Another star for being rude and continue to gossip amongst themselves. There was a table with candy bags and containers on them. No prices. It took me to say excuse me... How much is this plastic container of chewy Now & Laters? Before I was finally recognize. Still after I had asked the price and was quote that the container of those yummy chewy Now & Laters were $5.00. The 2 employees went right back to carrying on with their conversation. Not Cool & very unprofessional. I started to just walk out and take my business elsewhere. But I refuse to allow anyone to get me that upset. Beside the poor lack of communication and customer service. The prices are very cheap. The store is kind of tiny so there isnt that much of an selection of candy. But its just a nice experience to come and shop at the warehouse. You will be sure to find the major stars in the house.. Boston Baked Beans, Lemon Heads, Now& Laters and other candy

This is a store that I need to keep a secret from my father-in-law. While I've been a good girl who never goes bunkers at candy or has a sweet tooth, I occasionally experience anemia, and having some spare candy in my bag certainly will help. Ok, I know you all can care less about Rosa J.'s well-being, but put down your cell phone now so that you can play the "candy crush" at Ferrara Pan Candy Company outlet store, near CTA Harlem (Forest Park branch) Blue Line station. This is a freakin' petite candy store, but merchandizing in saccharides is what makes this small space an instant wonderland! There are some sensible choices to make on your purchases: - pick up a pack of lemon heads for $0.25 (tax included), or - do it by POUNDS, and - cash is the only acceptable form of currency at the FP candy Kingdom! My ultimate recommendation is the "Boston Baked Beans," if you like peanuts and aren't allergic to them. My little pack of BBB was completely depleted after passing through three (3) individuals in my family. Anyways, the tranquil Forest Park may actually scream "candy." Make a point of stopping here for some treats. If you consume too much of those bad girls, I will direct you to a great coffee spot nearby to adjust your insulin level.

For a factory outlet store located in the main factory/office building, this place is stocked, nicely decorated, and has friendly employees. The one main issue here is an entrance with a step and a heavy narrow door. No ADA Compliance here. When I walked in, the clerk was very welcoming and offered a sample of some chocolate covered blueberries. I found them to be delicious and better than the Dove brand I purchase at Walmart. They were less expensive too! I bought two bags of them for $3 each. Other candies like Grapeheads, Cherryheads, Boston Baked Beans, French Burt Beans, and some chewy "Lemonheads and Friends" boxes (that were of a light tropical assortment) also became part of my purchase. All the small boxes are $.25 just as they have been for a while. However the boxes are a bit smaller than a couple decades ago. There is no customer parking lot so you need to find street parking. I've found that arriving right at 7am is best for parking.

I love factory stores. The deals are great. The product is always fresh. And you'll never find a more pleasant person working a register anywhere in the world. You know why? Rather than standing in the quiet, temperature controlled retail nook that employee could be somewhere out on the hot, chaotic factory floor. Working the register is like a snow day compared to factory work. It's nice to deal with nice people. Anyway, it's a little store filled with incredibly fresh candy that just came off the factory line hours before. I got some Lemon Heads, Cherry Heads and the ever elusive Apple Heads all for $1.20 a pound. You can buy in any increment. I bought a 1/4 pound of each. A pound ends up being somewhere between the size of a baseball and a 12'' softball. You can also buy all their candy by the box. The "Heads" were super fresh and soft. I almost bought some chewy mint leaves but would've eaten them as fast as I could once returning to the car so I passed. I'll get a few next time. They don't have much but what they have is very fresh and very cheap... like just about every other real factory store. They're right off 290. Check 'em out

Since I was headed to Forest park for the rib fest, I quickly thought to check Yelp on my iPhone and see if there were any reviews for a Ferra Pan store. Eureka! They have a store located at the factory which is open to the public. If you are visiting for the first time make sure to call ahead for hours. It was a weekend and the store closed promptly at 2:30 pm. It's a tiny store with a glass door with little or no visible advertising. If you glimpse over at the side of this building while driving, you wouldn't even know it was there. Parking spots are out front and free, the attached parking lot is for employees so read the signs. There isn't much to see in that tiny candy store, a pack of Boston baked beans or lemon heads is a quarter. You can buy bulk also. Everything tastes fresh and when you have it, I swear you'll think about going back for more. I bought a few quarter pounds of different candies like sour jacks (like sour patch kids), orange slices, also got some packaged bags of assorted gummy candy like tarantulas, strawberries, etc. A bag full of candies which will last me for months cost about six and half dollars. Everything tastier than what you could find at a local candy store, this would have to do with shelf life. Not sure if they do tours, something to inquire about for next time. (Shop photos included)
