I passed my road test on the first try!!!! You hear me my very 1st try!!! Keith was my instructor. He is well knowledgeable, he broke down every single step for me to understand. I am a female who was terrified of driving a car. So you can imagine a tractor trailer. I was going to Mule Driving School and decided to try a lesson with Frerrari Driving school and thats where I met Keith. I learnt so much in 1 hour I immediately cancelled all my remaining lessons with Mule. I am thankful for the day I met Keith because I would be wasting so much money at Mule Driving School and wouldn't learn half the things Keith taught me. He is a very honest respectable and caring instructor who is very passionate about his job. I am asking Frerrari to give this man a raise or bonus because he is an exceptional instructor. I already referred 3 friends to call the school and schedule lessons with Keith. I recommend that Keith start a monthly train-the trainer session for all instructors at your school. I used this school for getting my D class driving license. I applied for CDL class A course and have chosen a regular package. This was quite expensive and I thought the price was determined by quality of education. Unfortunately I must warn potential students to beware of this school and choose the other ones. 1. The customer service is terrible. If you want to, cancel, schedule or reschedule your class, you call the main number and someone will take your number and assure that they call you back. But two times they did not call and if you lose your money paid for the class. 2. the receptionists are always on their phones and you have to wait ages before they finish their conversation and turn their face to you. 3. the fleet is old and not cleaned. Inside the cabin looks like a trash bean with used masks, coffee stains etc. 4. the instructor is smoking inside the cabin permanently. 5. THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED to teach you and after I almost completed my course I decided to enroll with a different school which needs just 10 hours to make me driving like a pro. 6. when I asked to refund me the classes that I did not use they told that they are going to charge 10% for the whole amount! 7. scheduling a road test with this school will take at least 4 months. But you will realize this only after you paid your money. Before they will say that in 3-4 week you get your appointment with DMV for your road test. read more

The one staff member "Elise" that I dealt with was the most arrogant, uncooperative full of ghetto attitude I've ever seen. She told me she would not help me get a grant because of my driving record then proceeded to start laughing at me. All I needed for the grant was a schedule of classes available, that was it. She refused and said I would NEVER get a grant , well guess what the very next day I was approved for the grant and took my business to "Northside Driving School".who was more then happy to give me a simple schedule of classes without berating me and telling me I will never get the grant. Since getting my license with Ferrari, I have upgraded & also gotten my Commercial License. They offer a great study course, it has the question & the answer to study from along with practice tests that are similar to the DMV test. I took my Bus Lessons with Ricardo who I must say is an AMAZING Instructor!! He is so patient & detailed in his training. He is honest in his evaluations of your driving and will focus on helping you correct the things that you are weakest in. During all of my training he made me feel very comfortable and confident in my driving. Even after I'd make a mistake and put myself down, he would find the positive and bring the focus to that. I couldn't have dreamed of a better learn-to-drive experience. Literally, I had no good dreams about driving. It's been about 7 years since I was legally allowed to learn to drive, but I'm proud to say that I recently passed my NYC road test! I cancelled my first enrollment with Ferrari, but I joined again and got set up with Gigi as a driving instructor. I'd say waiting was definitely a blessing, because she is truly an amazing instructor and person. She is patient, comforting, encouraging, and most importantly honest about your progress. She did an excellent job of judging what I could and could not handle, pushing me enough every lesson to gain more confidence and skill, even around my most dreaded areas. Throughout my experience I always felt that she really cared not only that I passed but that I also remained a safe driver once I got my license. I passed on the first attempt, with Gigi being there every step of the way. I cannot rave enough about this lovely woman. I know she has many happy students of all ages and cultures. I would personally recommend her to anyone considering getting driving lessons. Love you Gigi! Outside of the actual driving lessons, I also went to Ferrari for the 5 hour class. Everyone, especially the lecturer, was very gracious and knowledgeable. I learned a great deal and felt much more confident continuing out on the road. At the end of the class, the owner even came and said a few words of encouragement to all of us and gave me the sense that they really prided themselves on not putting any crazy, bad, or inconsiderate drivers out on the NYC road. After our experience today I am not sure if I can give them a one star, I cannot find a 0 star button. My wife had called them about enrolling in driving lessons and tentatively confirmed a date , but they go ahead and charge her credit card without informing her. Also no one told her that her card was charged till the day that she had tentatively confirmed earlier . I understand it's not a charity, but they should take a 101 on customer service. Also the customer service personnel yelled at my wife over the phone as she requested them to reschedule the date and said that's not an option. I know their drivers are good so this review is only directed at their customer service. Awesome, here I had three instructors for my class M licensing. I forgot their name but I do remember them by face. I loved having classes with these instructors though it was a little far from home. Instructors had different personalities but each helped throughout the learning experience and I hope by the time anyone comes access my review they are still working there. Instructor A- drove manual behind you I remember a yellow jeep and a car similar to a focus when he felt comfortable that you are ready to ride. That was the passive instructor of the three. This instructor makes sure the students know what he/she is doing right and then explaining how you can improve the skills you still need to sharpen as a beginner. When he had to show you how to do something he verbally tell you and if you did not understand he will show you on the bike you are using. Definitely knew what he was talking about and was able to proof himself on the two wheeler. Told a student- "you look really good on a motorcycle for a photo shoot, but the way you ride we will need to work on you a lot. Where are the brakes? ___ so why do you bring down your feet before the motorcycle stops, you need your feet ON the bike to slow down." Unfortunately this student did it again... that was when instructor B made it clear... Instructor B- drove a scooter or motorcycle near you you more often and had a much harsher approach. Still with a very good intention but much different tone this instructor will teach things to the student but will stop you from ridding to call student out on something unsafe that happens after he had already explained how to do it safely. Same scenario from above but this instructor would say, "I know you have drivers license, and I'm certain you don't put your feet on the ground while the car is moving, don't ever let me catch you putting your feet down while the motorcycle is moving waster than you can walk. If I don't tell you now when you get your license and you do this on your own... your family will get a knock on your door to identify the body or you will be seriously injured, we need to avoid that." To me: I used to put the motorcycle on first gear and never put it on second the second day-- Instructor A- you are a very safe rider and you doing very good, but I need you to be on second gear, i already taught you this. I know we are riding slow but you need to be able to get on second gear to reduce the likelihood of stalling the bike while doing the figure 8 and circles during the road test. Otherwise it would be fine to be on first gear. After I did it right a few times it was my turn to do it closer to instructor B after the third time he called out a student that was riding next to me for for using his front break I got nervous and forgot to switch to second gear before making the figure 8s" Instructor B- "why your bike sounds like it's on first gear when I asked you to do your figure 8's? (Right when I was about to say it's on second the bike stalled as soon as My figure 8 looked like a figure 6.) I saw you do it right many times, you ride very well, but I can't have you on first gear while making circles during the road test, it is unsafe. Do 10 figure 8 but after you do Each ONE I need you to stop get back on first gear and do it again. I don't want you to look stupid on something easy when you know how to do it and you been a very good leaner, the shifting needs to be on point" Oh boy that same day both instructors taught me so much I decided to schedule extra classes to learn more from them. Very different personalities but they say if the nice one don't get to you the mean one will, anyways it's tuff love for their passion and they NEED you to be safe on the road because they don't want you to be on headline news for ending up dead for not learning how to safely operate. On the day of the road test I was nervous, and it was raining. Another student asked if they can cancel the road test because it is raining. The instructor told him yes but it's up to you and we can come another day if you want to. Feeling insecure I also asked how do I cancel the road test. The instructor told me that I should not cancel because He feels confident I am ready. That helped me a lot but I never rode on the rain. He tells me well too bad you going to ride on the rain today, same thing just that the road is wet, you already wet so it's not like you can say you want to stay dry, I am confident you will pass so get used to the rain until it's your turn because you taking your test today, you been ready to pass. Oh my :-) I passed. And the motorcycle feels a little different under the rain but no big deal. read more

Had a great first scooter lesson with Ferrari Driving School. Being as it was my first time on a bike, anxieties were high. But the location was nice and quiet to learn and practice for rookies! By the end of the day I was far more confident on a bike than when I started. The instructor was diligent in pointing out mistakes as we rode, to make sure that we worked on them as the day went on so we knew what we had to do when it came time for the test. My son is trying to e independent so he enrolled inone class and then a 5 hr pre licensing class. Th driving class was $68 and the pre licensing was $40 which he had it today. I discovered there was a groupon yesterday with 20% off which made the cost $17 not $40. I live chatted with someone who told me someone will get back to me re I wanted to cancel his calss and use the very discounted groupon.No one got back to and my son ended up paying $23 more than he should have. I told him not to go there again and they stink for never addressing this issue. The school is deceptive and overpriced. In face class is reduced to $16 so he was overcharged by $24. read more

If you want to fail this is the perfect place to be "Ferrari". My instructor Ivan was very personable but lacks professionalism. On the day of my exam he pulls up 30 minutes late shaving in his car.So on top of the fact that you are face with anxiety/fear because you may be nervous for a test he makes you feel worst. I paid over $1,000 because I had fear of driving .Not anymore all of that change, FEAR is the least of my problem now! thanks to Ivan.If you fear Driving take Ivan but if you want to pass take a different route rather than Ferrari on steinway. Ivan will sure help you with fear, with his aggression and his impulsive attitude. HE MAKES YOU FEEL STUPID !!!and leads you to failing...no patience to instruct... but does alot of yelling. he expects you to know from day one... He would spend his time showing you his book on how people fail, rather then, instructing you on how not to fail..I think he does that to keep his students ..He's always late making one feel like he is stealing time because a 90 min lesson turns into 30 minutes.After Ivan spends his time on his phone ,personal calls,and rescheduling every second.He also make you take him to places but more then likely to run his personal errands. For instance help people get certificate for defensive driving. He also makes you drive to his home or from site to site so he can drop whatever off.He always comes back with an interesting story though. I don't drive on my own but I thought driving with an instructer would be better than driving with family/friend. I went to Ferrari to get my class A license I learned how to drive but they didn't teach me everything I needed to know for when I start working it's been five years since I became a professional tractor trailer driver and everything I know now I picked up on my own as I worked along the way which takes a while and lot of courage if your working in NYC but when comes to ally docking and every other backing technique you could think of I've learned on my own as I went along. Ferrari didn't teach me those techniques and that's actually the most important sector of being a tractor trailer driver is too know how to back up. I don't like wasting anybody's time but if you as my instructor was gonna spend time working on me I would have you rather make me do backing techniques than running up and down the highway learning how to turn and parallel parking cause turning and parrellel I could learn that on my own way easier than backing and I'm not gonna mention about certain instructors who like to harrass you for tips like if you was at a diner a bar or a barber shop believe me I'm not gonna take it there. bottom line is these people are not professionals and if you do plan to sign up with them I suggest whatever problems you have bring it up to the owners The Pintos and maybe he'll help cause he seems alittle ko ko himself but if you can't resolve nothing with him then just go some where else cause obviously it's not working out for you read more

Instructor arrived late, then took a long, leisurely cigarette smoke "break" while we waited inside. He was joking and laughing and kept saying he, "had a life too and would try to get us out of there fast." It's supposed to be 4 hours. Was only supposed to be 15 people in the class but last week's was canceled apparently so it was 2 weeks worth of people which ended up being 21 people at 25 minutes past start time at which point we were told there were 5 more people we were waiting for so we wouldn't be starting until everyone was here. ?!?!?! The 4 hour class started more than 1 hour late. In addition to this, it's over $100 more expensive than other places. AND there was a Groupon for 50% off which I only found out at the counter to check in and the staff just laughed at me. Don't bother - this place is a joke. read more

As far as my instructor Robin, she is amazing! She is very professional, honest and has amazing skills. From day one I have felt comfortable with her. I wasn't afraid or shy to ask any questions or concerns. When it came to me making mistakes instead of her picking on me or making me feel uncomfortable, she provided amazing advice and was very patient with showing me the correct way.
