But alas, the day before this new appointment date, we were asked to reschedule yet again. But it was only for one day later so we bit our tongue. Now this morning we received yet another message using the same excuse they initially trotted out. He made sure all the mains were off then showed us that we still had a live wire cooking away in there. Most likely nothing would have happened because we weren't going to mess with it but you never know. Plus we have old fashioned fixtures in our home so Mike updated us into the 21st Century with some nice looking 3way lighting fixture. He is a somewhat quiet but truly down to earth guy with a lot of patients and family values. My husband contacted them and the owner of the company came to inspect and give a quote for the installation of an outlet to plug in an electric car charger. The quote was more than 50% less than what the other company quoted and he said they could do the job the next day. On the day of service, two workers arrived and the first thing they did was put booties on to protect the floors. They were so efficient, and explained everything they were doing in advance. In the process of preparing to install the new outlet they found an error the previous electricians did and fixed the problem at no extra cost. The job was completed quickly and they even cleaned up the work area before leaving. They were also kind enough to wait about 15 minutes for my husband to get home from work so he could test out the charger and make sure everything was working correctly. Typically, a charge is made for a visit if you don't hire the company to do the work. Interestingly, I realized later that the website says they give free estimates. So they give a free estimate but charge for a visit? Does not make any sense to me. They did a good job trying to minimize the damage as much as possible. The damage that was made was promptly fixed. This is the third time we've had them come to the home. I'm writing a review for this particular service call since it was larger than the last service call (thermostat installs). Overall, I found them professional, knowledgeable, and reliable and would use them again. Electrical work isn't cheap - especially on Long Island - but I think we made out OK given the quality of the work and the amount of time they spent on the job.
