I quickly turned around and my husband was going to the breaker box and not saying a word so I knew he was in ‍ mode. I quickly grabbed the fire extinguisher in case there was any wires burning behind the wall. Thankfully from what we could tell there was not. But we are not electricians. My husband called a service we have that contacts area electricians for you and one called back, said all was good just not to use any of the other lights on that switch and he would see use the following Thursday as in a whole week. I could not believe when my husband told me later on that was what was going down. My exact words were oh hell no. I got on with the company we use explained what happened and they said hold on. That's where Mike comes in. He immediately got off the Wantagh Pkwy and came to our home in Levittown. He made sure all the mains were off then showed us that we still had a live wire cooking away in there. Most likely nothing would have happened because we weren't going to mess with it but you never know. Plus we have old fashioned fixtures in our home so Mike updated us into the 21st Century with some nice looking 3way lighting fixture. He is a somewhat quiet but truly down to earth guy with a lot of patients and family values. He was here for about 45 minutes and cleaned up after himself including I am sure the dust that was on my table. If you are looking for an honest, hard worker, who knows his stuff look no further.

A family owned business that you can trust. After my husband…read morereceived a suspiciously high quote from another well known company I came across E.H. Haines. My husband contacted them and the owner of the company came to inspect and give a quote for the installation of an outlet to plug in an electric car charger. The quote was more than 50% less than what the other company quoted and he said they could do the job the next day. On the day of service, two workers arrived and the first thing they did was put booties on to protect the floors. They were so efficient, and explained everything they were doing in advance. In the process of preparing to install the new outlet they found an error the previous electricians did and fixed the problem at no extra cost. The job was completed quickly and they even cleaned up the work area before leaving. They were also kind enough to wait about 15 minutes for my husband to get home from work so he could test out the charger and make sure everything was working correctly. I was fine with paying for the work but I wasn't told upon making the appointment that there would be $79 fee for coming to the house. Typically, a charge is made for a visit if you don't hire the company to do the work. I called and spoke to someone from the company who said it would be "waived this time" as I hadn't been told that initially. Interestingly, I realized later that the website says they give free estimates. So they give a free estimate but charge for a visit? Does not make any sense to me. The electrician that did the job was professional, prompt and neat. I was happy with the work done.
