First time at Ferraro's per a friend's suggestion. We were a party of 4 and seated without a wait. It was fairly empty on a Sunday afternoon. The ambiance was pleasant and there's an option to dine outdoors (not my preference, especially literally on the sidewalk). The service was wonderful, our server answered all of our questions, and made good suggestions. She was knowledgeable about the entire menu, which was great and useful. The food overall was mediocre. We began with Tomato Bruschetta as an appetizer and I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors. It was delicious! The bread itself stole the show! I would not have ordered it, so I'm glad that my friend did. We also add the fried calamari, which was excellent. It was crispy and nicely coated. The marinara sauce was watery and flavorless, further proving why I am not a fan of it. However, I did dip my calamari in the mango & sweet chili vinaigrette... AMAZING combo! Then there's the Giuseppe Pizza, good but not great. Again, the bread and crust were the major flavor points. Not over or under done, just right. The chicken and arugula on top, nice touch. Lastly, the mango salad and an addition of shrimp. Overall, everything was just okay. I would not be in a hurry to go back, but we enjoyed our time. This was my second time in this restaurant and this time around it was a completely different experience! This time around, I went during a very busy time, Friday 7ish pm. There are two floors, so luckily since we were looking for a calmer space, we were able to get seated up there. I was able to make a reservation by calling, even though online nothing was available. Food was good and enjoyable, but I think because it was busy and there might've been a need for tables, our service felt a bit rushed. The best thing about this menu is the fact that they carry a Hugo Spritz! It was okay, and not the way I remember the traditional version to be, but tasty and a good surprise anyhow! Speedy & friendly service. Very welcoming by when I'm imagining is the owner who's sitting by the bar. I waitress was very kind and she took care of us the whole night. We ordered a beat salad, which was absolutely gorgeous and very colorful and perfect amount of dressing!!! I ordered the ravioli marinara and my bff fettuccine Alfredo.. A two-floor Italian restaurant, while the service was just average compared to my prior experiences, we had a big table beside us that was taking up the waitstaff's time and attention. Definitely grab a reservation if you can, the bar had some seating throughout but the restaurant was pretty busy with families and celebrations. Was an empty glass for half the meal. Second floor and outside seating available. Close to the Westfield train station for parking on weekends. Good menu, though the appetizers are a bit small (good for 2-3 people to share each, maybe) - the bread they bring is hot and not completely cut so you have to break it apart with your hands. The bruschetta was good, the burrata I've had softer and creamier, and the meatballs were small compared to Nonna's and other Italian restaurants I've been at. I am not big on Italian restaurants, as I find most to be bland from trying to "play it safe." That was not the case here. The food was well seasoned, perfectly prepared, & the portions were plentiful. The staff were very friendly & professional, & they were super attentive, in spite of it being very busy when I went. Large venue with two sides, restaurant side & bar side. Nice old school "Italian restaurant" interior decor. Large bay doors which can open to the outdoor seating area. I was truly impressed, & will make it by business to return. It's in the downtown Westfield area, so there's metered parking around, & a metered parking lot directly across the street. Family friendly restaurant serving up a variety of Italian fare. For my first impression, the restaurant was slightly chaotic and I think I need to come back again to try it on a quieter day. Tables were a bit cramped, children were running around, and there was broken glass at one point that I felt like could have been cleaned up just a little bit faster (I was actually slightly concerned given the amount of kids walking around!). This is a mixed review. Some good, some not so. When walking in to this establishment, you felt a sense of warmth. So my expectations were elevated immediately. After sitting down, we reviewed the menu and it seemed a decent size with a variety of options. My wife and I were interested in some pasta dishes. However, since this was lunch, we did not want to get weighted down for the remainder of the day. Fortunately, our server informed us that they offer half portions ... so pasta was a go! I selected the short rib pappardelle and my wife selected the gluten-free penne with the Bolognese sauce. We also added a house salad for us to share. The first item brought to the table was some bread. Now, I don't know about you, but I believe you can learn a lot about the quality of your meal from the bread alone. I am sad to report, it was disappointing. Not sure if it was day old, but is was definitely not freshly made that day. It really lacked the character of a true Italian bread ... a soft doughy center with a nice crusty shell. And even better when presented warm. Nope. Not what we got. On to the salad. All the right pieces were there and it visually looked amazing, but it was over dressed and under seasoned. Too bad. Lastly the pasta. It was good (thankfully). The noodles were cooked properly, and they had that homemade texture. And the sauce was pretty good as well. My only complaint was that the short rib was well done, which gave it a slight toughness, and I was expecting something more tender. So the pasta dishes saved the meal. read more

The portions were big enough, that I couldn't finish my entire dish and grabbed the leftovers to go. Had a good time talking to my friends, they have tables right outside which makes this place a favorite one for large groups and families with kids. We flew in for a Baby shower there were 8 of us. The food was delicious which is the only thing positive I can say. The service was absolutely horrible.!!! The horrible waitress got the host of the dinners order wrong I understand these things happen, but no apologies were offered. She was the only one not eating. It was most embarrassing. She was very upset, rightfully so. She had to get up and find the waitress. The manager finally came over, didn't even have the dignity and respect to compensate her for her meal, which arrived well after we all had finished eating. The waitress disappeared for minimum 40 minutes. I had to ask a young kid, a food runner to please find the waitress so We could have more wine. When she appeared she had an attitude, me being a guest I had to bite my tongue not to say something. We had numerous dirty plates from the appetizers sitting around for over 45 minutes. One of my friends and I got together to get dinner. When we arrived I parked in the lot nearby. I walked into a nice restaurant. A host let me sit where I pleased. Molly was our server, and she was nice! To start, I wanted the half bottle of red wine, which they didn't have, so I had the old fashion followed by the lemon drop martini. Both weren't bad! This is a great place to celebrate milestones or have a casual dinner. Their Chicken Giuseppe is on of their best dishes. The arugula is always crisp and lightly dressed. The chicken is always cooked to perfection. Eggplant Parm is also delicious and perfectly cooked. Their clams over linguini is also spot on! I can go on and on about each of their dishes. We got off to a rocky start, with the restaurant losing our reservation. So pro tip: if you call in to reserve, make sure they send you a verification code! Fortunately the host was able to fit us in, so no harm no foul (aside from me mentally preparing to unleash my best "Let me speak to the manager" act). The place itself is smaller on the first floor than the outside lets on, so expect for a louder meal given the proximity of all of the tables. Service was very good, with folks passing by often and refilling water pitchers or cold drinks. While three of us ordered beer, it was only out of the desire for something other than water - the beers on tap were incredibly underwhelming, such that Sam Adams sounded like the most unique option. You're better off with wine! We had a few Appetizers, including arancini, bruschetta, and buratta. All were very tasty, though I wish the portions were a bit larger. With only three arancini, a few slices of bruschetta and an average sized buratta, we certainly could have used more for four people. That said, the entree portions more than made up for it. My baked lasagna was a great size, and came out still steaming hot thanks to the large dish in which it was served. Though I managed to power through my entire meal, everyone else required take home boxes given the sheer size of the course! I finished with the cannoli, which was completely forgettable. Not a fan.
