I visited Fiamma Wood Fired Pizza recently with a friend for what we hoped would be a satisfying, quick bite. Walking in, the first thing we noticed was how cramped the dining area felt. Tables are placed quite close together, which can make for a noisy and somewhat uncomfortable atmosphere. Our initial table hadn't been wiped down from the previous guests, which was an immediate red flag. We quickly moved to a clean table ourselves. Service was sporadic; our server was prompt in taking our drink and food orders but then seemed to disappear. We weren't checked on after our meals arrived, and getting a refill on water or the check required catching someone's eye. It felt very transactional. A major heads-up for future diners is that Fiamma is a BYOB establishment, as their on-site drink options are limited to water and sodas. I highly recommend bringing your favorite wine or beer to complement the meal. Unfortunately, the food was a mixed bag. We started with the Calamari Fritti, which was underwhelming. The main issue was a serious lack of seasoning beyond a heavy hand with the salt, and the calamari itself didn't taste fresh; it had a slightly rubbery texture. I ended up eating only a few pieces and left the rest. For my entrée, I had the Gamberoni Scampi. This was a step up but still had its flaws. On the positive side, the linguini was well-cooked, and there was a generous amount of shrimp. The biggest issue was the sheer volume of pasta; it was an immense portion that overwhelmed the other components. I ate about 30% of the pasta and all the shrimp, but it felt wasteful. The dish was decent, but not compelling enough to make me want to tackle such a huge portion again. Based on this visit alone, my experience was a little subpar. Between the cramped space, inattentive service, and underwhelming food, Fiamma didn't live up to its potential. However, the meal was a firm reminder that good company can elevate any experience. The name of the place is "Wood Fired Pizza," and I clearly made a mistake by not ordering their signature item. I'm willing to give Fiamma another chance solely to try the pizza. For now, my recommendation is, if you come, bring your own drinks, maybe skip the appetizers, and definitely order the pizza. read more

Our visit yesterday was underwhelming on service and food, and we are going to take a pause on Fiamma for a bit. It wasn't busy for a Saturday. We sat outside and the waiter did not write down our order, requiring him to come back to confirm, and then we DID NOT get our appetizer. My pizza came out first, followed 5 minutes later by the entrees (that timing is a bit off for mains) and by that point we didn't ask about the appetizer. Pizza was tasty, pastas were meh. A nice gem in downtown Westfield. They were packed but I was seated right away. They fit a good amount of seating in a small space and have tons of outdoor seating in the summer. Waiters gave us a heads up the pizza would take a while and it was worth the wait. Both the original pizza and sorrentina were delicious. The sausage on the sorrentina was so flavorful. Wood fired pizza can be the best. Our takeout plain cheese was good, but a tad too burnt on too many parts of the bottom. Alas. This type of cooking technique needs an eagle eye but for $22 I don't want so much black and burnt. Pie was ready when server said. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but they also open up a few tables outdoors when the weather is nice out. Everything on the menu (pizzas, salads, pastas) are great for sharing family-style. The pizza here is the star and has a chewy yet crispy crust. My favorite dish is probably the Rucola pizza, but everything we've tried here has been tasty. I accidently wrote this review on another location, this is the review for here. Another friday pizza night! I just want to mention it's a challenge to review a place when ordering to go. My son chose the large original wood fired tomato pie, topped with pepperoni. Yes, today was a snowy cold day, so I didn't expect my food to be hot or anything. They were not far from me, but when the pizza arrived, it was ice cold. I was a bit surprised, but once again, nothing an air fryer can't fix. We were also surprised at how big the pepperoni was. We loved that! The pepperoni was delicious. The overall pizza was flavorful. The tomato sauce was more on the sweet side, which i prefer. I wasn't a huge fan of the crust. Even after the air fryer, it was still soft and soggy. The crust didn't have much flavor either. I'm not a pizza expert (I'm from California), but with trying different pizzas lately, I can now see the difference in certain pies. There was a variety of pizzas, so I definitely think we will be ordering again to try it out. read more

Fiamma was a solid experience! My friend and I met here on a weekday evening, and it was a good time. We were seated pretty quickly since we beat the dinner rush by a few minutes, but the tables were so packed in we were bumping into the other tables and customers around us. The service was quick and efficient, and we got our large pesto pie to share fairly quickly. It was piping hot, and had a smoky tinge from the wood-fired oven. The bottom was crispy, just the way I like it! The pizza itself was pretty good, but kind of lacking in pesto for my taste, as the flavor didn't come through that strongly. A great staple in Westfield! I tried this place on a Saturday for lunch it hit the spot. I got a pasta dish which was rich in flavors and filling. The portions were also great. Very good wood fired pizza. We ordered the Buffalo Chicken pie. Toppings were pretty good: chicken seasoned with what tasted like Frank's Red Hot, plus Bleu and Mozzarella cheese. My only suggestion here is that shredded chicken would have been an upgrade. The bake on the crust was spot on (pun intended). Good leoparding both on the outer crust and underneath. I went in on a whim to see how the pizza tasted, and left four minutes later with a fully cooked pizza to bring home. Pizza is decent but avoid going on a Friday or Saturday night because they simply can't handle the rush, either the kitchen is too small or they have too many tables... and the staff is totally overwhelmed. Fiamma is just okay. I've been once a long time ago and just came back this week with some friends. They brought bread out right away and it wasn't toasted at all and was tough to eat. We ordered a pizza, entree, and salad to share. The beet salad was delicious, but the entree lacked flavor. We got the chicken Francese. Time and time again, Fiamma delivers. The best pizza hands down in the area. I'm a pizza snob and won't get it for takeout because I like it hot and crispy but the other day we had guests over - and it was still AMAZING. Their chicken parm is awesome too. Most importantly their servers and waitstaff are so incredibly nice. Attentive, quick and always greet us with a smile. They truly seem happy to be serving their guests and seems like they're also having a blast in there and nothings worst than waiters with an attitude problem.
