I haven't been to Fiamma Wood Fire Pizza in Westfield for a long time. I was really craving their baby spinach salad, so I decided to go and enjoy it. I went on a Monday night, so it wasn't busy and we were seated right away. We ordered the baby spinach salad, calamari, and penne vodka. I liked all the food, but the salad had too much dressing. I visited Fiamma Wood Fired Pizza recently with a friend for what we hoped would be a satisfying, quick bite. Walking in, the first thing we noticed was how cramped the dining area felt. Tables are placed quite close together, which can make for a noisy and somewhat uncomfortable atmosphere. Our initial table hadn't been wiped down from the previous guests, which was an immediate red flag. We quickly moved to a clean table ourselves. Service was sporadic; our server was prompt in taking our drink and food orders but then seemed to disappear. We weren't checked on after our meals arrived, and getting a refill on water or the check required catching someone's eye. It felt very transactional. A major heads-up for future diners is that Fiamma is a BYOB establishment, as their on-site drink options are limited to water and sodas. I highly recommend bringing your favorite wine or beer to complement the meal. Unfortunately, the food was a mixed bag. We started with the Calamari Fritti, which was underwhelming. The main issue was a serious lack of seasoning beyond a heavy hand with the salt, and the calamari itself didn't taste fresh; it had a slightly rubbery texture. I ended up eating only a few pieces and left the rest. For my entrée, I had the Gamberoni Scampi. This was a step up but still had its flaws. On the positive side, the linguini was well-cooked, and there was a generous amount of shrimp. The biggest issue was the sheer volume of pasta; it was an immense portion that overwhelmed the other components. I ate about 30% of the pasta and all the shrimp, but it felt wasteful. The dish was decent, but not compelling enough to make me want to tackle such a huge portion again. Based on this visit alone, my experience was a little subpar. Between the cramped space, inattentive service, and underwhelming food, Fiamma didn't live up to its potential. However, the meal was a firm reminder that good company can elevate any experience. The name of the place is "Wood Fired Pizza," and I clearly made a mistake by not ordering their signature item. I'm willing to give Fiamma another chance solely to try the pizza. For now, my recommendation is, if you come, bring your own drinks, maybe skip the appetizers, and definitely order the pizza. read more

A nice gem in downtown Westfield. They were packed but I was seated right away. They fit a good amount of seating in a small space and have tons of outdoor seating in the summer. Waiters gave us a heads up the pizza would take a while and it was worth the wait. Both the original pizza and sorrentina were delicious. The sausage on the sorrentina was so flavorful. Went for the lunch special - a deal that can't be beat! Great value and great pizza. The vodka pie (with added chicken cutlet) was fantastic - well cooked and great flavor. Wood fired pizza can be the best. Our takeout plain cheese was good, but a tad too burnt on too many parts of the bottom. Alas. This type of cooking technique needs an eagle eye but for $22 I don't want so much black and burnt. Pie was ready when server said. Delicious wood fired pizza, and a popular local favorite in Westfield downtown for both takeout and dining in. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but they also open up a few tables outdoors when the weather is nice out. Everything on the menu (pizzas, salads, pastas) are great for sharing family-style. The pizza here is the star and has a chewy yet crispy crust. My favorite dish is probably the Rucola pizza, but everything we've tried here has been tasty. My son chose the large original wood fired tomato pie, topped with pepperoni. Yes, today was a snowy cold day, so I didn't expect my food to be hot or anything. They were not far from me, but when the pizza arrived, it was ice cold. I was a bit surprised, but once again, nothing an air fryer can't fix. We were also surprised at how big the pepperoni was. We loved that! The pepperoni was delicious. The overall pizza was flavorful. The tomato sauce was more on the sweet side, which i prefer. I wasn't a huge fan of the crust. Even after the air fryer, it was still soft and soggy. The crust didn't have much flavor either. I'm not a pizza expert (I'm from California), but with trying different pizzas lately, I can now see the difference in certain pies. We were seated pretty quickly since we beat the dinner rush by a few minutes, but the tables were so packed in we were bumping into the other tables and customers around us. The service was quick and efficient, and we got our large pesto pie to share fairly quickly. It was piping hot, and had a smoky tinge from the wood-fired oven. Very good wood fired pizza. We ordered the Buffalo Chicken pie. Toppings were pretty good: chicken seasoned with what tasted like Frank's Red Hot, plus Bleu and Mozzarella cheese. My only suggestion here is that shredded chicken would have been an upgrade. The bake on the crust was spot on (pun intended). Good leoparding both on the outer crust and underneath. The child's penne vodka and bread was the only thing I could eat. I ordered a Caesar salad, a child's penne vodka, and it came with bread. I was psyched for the salad but it was horrible. the Caesar dressing was runny and tasted like sour cream. Unfortunately, I have no Caesar dressing to help it along. I went in on a whim to see how the pizza tasted, and left four minutes later with a fully cooked pizza to bring home. The pizza is fantastic and I don't use that word lightly is made clearly with the highest quality ingredients by people that understand what the taste bud needs. More than half of the people inside were eating food other than pizza from pasta dishes to Northern Italian. I'm not going to fault the employees for this as they're clearly working non-stop and very hard, but management should really take a step back and look at how things operate during crowded times, because it's total chaos and practically every customer is angry and yelling at them. I had the white pie was full of chesse and ricotta not cheap like most spots . The crust was buttery and airy was like al Santillos of Elizabeth! Fiamma is just okay. I've been once a long time ago and just came back this week with some friends. They brought bread out right away and it wasn't toasted at all and was tough to eat. We ordered a pizza, entree, and salad to share. The beet salad was delicious, but the entree lacked flavor. We got the chicken Francese. We also thought it was going to come with linguini and it didn't so that was disappointing. Two pieces of chicken with a few vegetables was $20. The unique part was the fire roasted red peppers. I'm used to tomato slices, these were grape tomatoes cut in half. Still good! - MARGHERITA PIZZA ($12.95) - We got the individual size. It was flavorful with the touch of wood fired taste. This was my favorite of all the things we got! - GAMBERONI FRA DIAVOLO ($19.95) - The sauce had a good amount of spicy that I expected.
