It was really good. Delivery was super fast as well. Love the fact that the website allows you to customize the pizza toppings by the halves too. We ordered the vodka pie, the calamari pasta in a white wine sauce (and added sautéed shrimp - the shrimp were huge!), and garlic bread. The garlic bread was super crusty and fresh. Stopped here for some slices and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. The crust really makes this pizza standout. Not the typical nj pizza crust i know and love, but a more pastry-like and flaky. That was the surprise I liked so much. We tried the Marinara Sicilian, the Buffalo Chicken, and the Vodka sauce with veg. The sauces for the pies have good depth of flavor, the ratio of the toppings is perfect, the chicken was not dry as it can be when used as a topping. The Vodka sauce works well with the onions, mushrooms and peas. Im going back and going to try the Chicken Tom, the Chicken Francese, and the Cheesesteak slices. I asked if it was possible to BUY a couple of pizza boxes for a kids craft project, not a usual request (which I acknowledged when I asked) but not exactly crazy either. The staff was friendly and service was quick. The pizza could use a bit of work. The Sicilian had a great, soft, fluffy base with a crisp crust. The cheese was decent, but the slice could benefit from more sauce (or perhaps a thicker sauce). The plain was greasy with a soft base and bland sauce. The cheese was meh. The saving grace was the crust which is quite good with a fluffy interior and crisp exterior. The grandma slice was the best of the bunch. It featured an excellent sauce with fresh garlic and a crisp base with a crunchy crust. The pizza by the slice is great, the service generally is decent yet they always close 20 minutes before closing time. In the restaurant business you are as good as your service , believe it or not food comes second. A suburban slice of NYC How could anyone rate this pizza below 5 stars? This is easily the best pizza in town. We get take out from here at least 1 time a week. It reminds me of being back in the city and having a pizza place on every corner. The moment you walk in you're hit with the smell of fresh dough and brick oven pizza cooking. They have both big floppy slices and also more gourmet options available. In my opinion a great slice of pizza has to have three things: 1) Crust that's not too thick but not too thin. It doesn't have to be deep dish, but it shouldn't by extra crispy. IT should have a nice browning on the outside and it's flavor should have minimal saltiness. A good crust should act as the base layer for the pizza. Anchoring your taste buds in the familiar. 2) Sauce should be sweet but not too sweet. A good sauce is one where I can taste the oregano and the sweetness of the tomatoes. 3) Toppings shouldn't be average. Pepperoni and Sausage are basic. Good pizzas have a myriad of different options that delight and enthrall the senses. (Pizza purists may definitely argue this one) Di Farinas checks all 3 points for me. You can get a Cheesesteak pizza. Um hello - it's a cheese steak on a pizza! What's not to love about that! Service is wonderful - They're quick to get your food boxed/plated and then send you on your way. I don't think we've ever waited more than 5 minutes to get our to-go order. Heads up - Friday nights tend to attract a lot of high school kids and they all congregate in front of and around Di Farina's and the place tends to get a little bit busy. While the quality of their food and the service were limited at least they consistently provided a C+ experience. Folks, I'm not sure what's going on at Di Farina these days. The food and service are fairly manic as they waffle between offering their customers the mediocrity we've known and expected to a new low in horrendous pizzeria food and service. The plain pie was delicious, the sauce had a bit of sweetness which I liked a lot.. the crust was a little too crunchy for me but the rest of my family likes crunchy crust so that's good!
