We used Ferree movers for packing an instate move and their storage facility for one year. The move went well, and the moving staff were nice and respectful. However, when we had our belongings moved out of storage to our next home, trouble began. Items were missing, such as power cords to TVs and frame mounting hardware for our beds. I had to purchase these items. They did have someone come back and put the beds together. When unpacking we found numerous broken items. Some were glued back together such as a bed post and cabinet drawers to our dresser while others were just broken plates and bowls. They didn't do a good job packing our things and were not organized in keeping items together such as the cords and hardware with the furniture. The worse part was the customer service. I have called over 20+ times and sent emails but have not gotten one response. Once we paid for the services all communication ended. I was only looking to be reimbursed for the broken items that they packed and moved. To me, that would be the right thing to do. They should have contacted me to ask how the move went and if we had any issues. I shouldn't have to spend time out of my day to contact them. I understand things can happen during a move, but there is no excuse not to respond to follow up after a move. If you are looking for movers, I don't think you can trust Ferree Movers of Crown Point to do the right thing if something happens to your furniture, appliances, fixtures, etc. I wouldn't use them again in any capacity due to their unprofessional behavior and lack of customer service. read more

I thought the price charged was very reasonable and the crew couldn't have been nicer. They took great care with an antique bedroom set and my husband's heavy massage chair. I recently had to move some big furniture out of my grandparents condo on short notice. I spoke with Beth initially, who was very attentive to my last-minute situation, Ferree Movers went well out of their way to accommodate us! I was very stressed out until that point. On the day of the move, Nate and Mitch were phenomenal. On time, clean, professional, and positive. To me it's the little things I notice first that make me feel I made the right decision. Both movers were prudent to make sure nothing was damaged and asked questions that others probably would have assumed answers to. They gave me a few tips for my new furniture (they knew a lot about our piano) and made sure the stuff we moved in wasn't going to scratch our wood floor. If I could rate this zero stars, I absolutely would. I don't know if it was the group of guys or what, but the move was horrendous. We moved from a small duplex and had already moved a lot of stuff on our own so we didn't have a lot of things left to move, yet it took over three hours for them to load the truck because "you have to load the boxes in a certain way". It doesn't take rainman abilities to load a damn truck people (When we moved a couple years ago, we hired a different company that took a total of 3 hours. This was with less men, more boxes and a further driving time). We paid for 3 workers. At one point, one guy was taking apart a bed as the other two just stood and watched. Towards the end, they had a couple boxes left. I managed to take a Jeep full of boxes, drive to the house I was moving to, unload the car myself, drive back and they STILL were not done 45 minutes later. THEN they had the AUDACITY to say they were stopping for lunch before coming to unload the truck at the new house. I thought I was being Punkd. Unloading wasn't much better. One of the movers broke a bookcase and another was on his phone texting. I will never be using this company again. Six hours for a job that would've taken a competent group of people half the time to complete. read more

She walked me through the entire moving process and was extremely helpful. The crew was courtesy, careful, and professional. Company was highest of three bidders. Quoted a guaranteed price and was charged a higher amount when I did not have the quote with me. Very deceptive and bad to do business with. Would rather have an unhappy customer over a $600 charge on an over $10,500 bill!!!! read more
