This post is an update. I initially gave Bill's Movers one star because they cancelled my 1 hour small move after they had previously booked and confirmed it. Ryan, one of the owners, said it wasn't "worth their time". After that review posted, I received a call from another of the owners, Bill. He explained that they were extremely busy the day they added my small move to their schedule and he admitted that instead of canceling they should have at least asked me if I could switch it to another day. I'm giving them 3 stars for Bill's effort. I admired his his calm resolve in listening to my frustration. As a side note, I ended up using Moving Specialists, Inc. Bill (yes, another Bill) and Jen from their Hammond office, were quite helpful and accommodating in scheduling the move which turned out to be $100 less than what Bill's Movers was going to charge me. Bill's Movers moved a piano for me. They were efficient and professional . They were very respectful of my home by protecting floors.

I was moving from the communist state of IL to IN and needed a mover that worked in both states. I used my Yelp community once again and they came through. The guys showed up on time and worked diligently the entire time. The crew consisted of all very nice young men that had personality and yet were very respectful of me and my home. Pete ( the mad scientist of truck packing) Tony, Dan and Dakota were super hard working and never slowed down for 12 hrs. Zak and Tyrone showed up at the new home and were equally as good. The guys never scraped a wall or hit a door with my furniture even after working all day. I highly recommend this company and want to thank the guys for doing a great job. Fantastic service! Some friends recommended them and we couldn't be happier they did! Scheduling the move was as easy as it could be. They accommodated our scheduling needs and showed up exactly on time with everything they needed for the move. Tyrone, Tony, Taylor and Andrew were professional and friendly, and barely stopped for an instant the whole time. Everything was wrapped for protection, and they packed the truck efficiently, to say the least! They kept us involved in the whole process, involving us with question when they needed to. We have a lot of stuff, and the moved it all seamlessly. They obviously took a lot of care to stack things - both in the truck and later, in the new house, so that nothing was damaged. Every piece of furniture was wrapped to protect it. Our old house had some weird angles on stairs and hallways, and they moved even the largest items without ever bumping a thing. At the new house, they made sure they understood what each room was and what was going where - and above and beyond, they also made sure not only to put things in the right rooms, but also, when, for example, the bed had a left and right pier unit, that they took the initiative to put them in the right position without any input. We didn't have them assemble or disassemble any of the furniture, but the way they carefully placed it means we'll have a much easier time when we do! They obviously have a lot of experience with a lot of different furniture! A day later, we're still finding things that they took the initiative to put in the best places for us to find it later. It was a long day for all of us, and unfortunately, the A/c was not working in the new house, but they were cheerful and friendly and professional the whole time, and made sure we were completely satisfied with everything before they left. They cleaned up everything they brought and left us nothing to have to clean up. I grew up in an Army family and had a Navy career, involving a lot of moves, as well as moving a number of times for civilian job changes. I have never had a better moving experience. I hope I don't have to move again any time soon, but if I did, I'd sure use them again in a heartbeat! read more

We needed movers from Chicago to Munster and we decided on Bill's. They were so easy to work with! It was the best moving experience we have had. They gave us an extra guy for free and they were all so professional and nice. The main guy who was in charge was extremely knowledgable and organized. The rest of the crew was too. Bill's Movers went above and beyond! They sent five guys and a truck to move us out of our 1000sq feet apartment and they loaded up the truck in under an hour. I have used these movers twice to move from the city to Indiana and they are absolutely superb! I've used other movers in the past and Bills Mover's blows them out of the water!! They are punctual, efficient and try to move as fast as possible while treating your items with care. They even moved me in 90 degree heat and were just as fast. I would recommend them to everyone! I was so pleased with Bills movers in the past that I immediately called them when I needed some items moved from Chicago to Indiana. Since they are so good, they were booked up and couldn't accommodate my quick move date. I was forced to use a mover who had quick availability-my first mistake. Two Men and a Truck went to Chicago but said the armoire was too big for them to move and they are not allowed to take anything apart. A Mover who Can't Move! Recent move from Illinois to Indiana. Two cousins had used Bill's Movers recently, and since they raved about the company, we hired them. They are simply the best. There are no other words! They care for your possessions as if they are their own. Furniture, even heavy armoires and our piano, are lifted easily by these extra strong guys. All furniture is carefully covered, and plastic mattress covers provided for a small fee. That came in handy and I panicked when the rainstorm started, but these guys were unfazed. They work well as a team, they know exactly what to do with EVERYTHING, including an antique grandfather's clock, which they knew to wrap each component carefully and separately from the clock housing. Still pouring rain at our destination, they laid out a long blue waterproof runner and emptied the truck with not one drop of water on the new hardwood. Even helped me decide on the best furniture placement in a room. I had to force a bottle of water of them on that humid day! AND THEY CAME IN UNDER BUDGET! Who does that these days? They showed up on time, were extremely careful with our belongings and were very professional, even asking if they could use the bathroom. I have an enormous heirloom china set---service for 12, pattern has been discontinued. Not a scratch. Not a single item was broken, scratched or damaged. And they work quickly.
