We looked at the apartment and identified some things that were wrong with it that needed fixing before we moved in. We were assured that the landlords would take care of it. In Ms. Clarks words, the landlords were "wonderful, very responsive." Basically, we were sold a bill of goods. We moved in about a month after lease signing. None of the things that were supposed to be fixed were actually fixed, because apparently the landlord refused. The apartment was still being worked on, and it was in pretty dirty condition. We had to clean it ourselves before we moved in. Far from being "wonderful and responsive" the landlords were the most awful, do-nothing landlords I have ever rented from. Many of the things that were supposed to be fixed were still not fixed when we moved out a year later. Folks, don't believe a word anyone from this company tells you, especially if you are a renter. They seem extremely nice, but they will clearly say anything to get the deal closed. Wish I could give negative or 0 stars.

Do they provide any input a capable person could not research own their own. We purchased a investment home last year after Henry had shown it to us. We wanted to wait a year before we reviewed Henry to make sure he wasn't one of those real estate agents who disappears when the deal is done and follows up every year with a pre-printed holiday card or a refrigerator magnet with their face on it. I can say confidently that not only is Henry a great resource for information, but he also really went beyond the scope of his work many times throughout the whole home buying process. We had multiple properties in different locations throughout the Maryland area and he really did the homework and understood each property before each viewing. As we are planning to purchase our next property Henry has been fantastic throughout the year fielding our questions and even keeping us abreast on new developments. Furthermore, since he is an investor himself he knows the Maryland real estate investment market well and was able to shepherd us in the right direction with loans, housing, inspectors, etc. If plan to buy a him in the Montgomery County or surrounding area go with Henry, you won't regret it!

Just a little background info, we were moving from overseas and Anne started working with us well before we arrived. Even though it wasn't an ideal situation she was very responsive (she deserves an award for all of the emails we flooded her inbox with) and stepped us through everything we could do to hit the ground running. Her knowledge was really showcased when she took the time to breakdown and explain every step of the process to us instead of just regurgitating confusing information and numbers. It was very important to her that we understood and were in the loop about the entire process. I could have of stated all the usual stuff like: She's really courteous, professional, knowledgeable, listened to our needs, etc.; which are all true...but from our experience the thing that sets her apart from other agents is that she really and truly holds her clients' best interests above all else. After responding to the post, I was invited to a viewing. The day before the viewing, one of their agents sent an email saying that 50 groups were interested and they would like the viewing to go as folllows: 1. submit an application and write a check for $50 per person 2. list the price you were willing to pay in rent Because this was a four person house, this was essentially like paying $200 to enter a BLIND AUCTION. Not entirely sure that is legal.... We were the first people to submit an application and indicated that we would be willing to beat or match any price. We have near perfect crudentials and credit history. We figured we'd have a fair shot. One of their agents contacted us this week saying we didn't get the place. THEY REFUSED TO TELL US WHY OR WHAT THE PLACE WAS RENTED FOR. Needless to say, I immediately cancelled my checks before they could cash them. Do not bother visiting a place being shown by City Houses LLC (Jo Ricks, Karl Operle). It is a waste of time and you could lose substancial money in application fees.
