Quick service but customer service needs improvement and prices are good...not much else

I scheduled an appointment a week in advance for AC repair as a new customer. My appt time came and went so I called the office. They had no record of my appt. So the woman I made appt with on phone didn't bother to put me in the system leaving me with no AC for a week. read more

Very curteous and thoroughly customer centric. I ordered Propane fill up as my tank had been completely run dry by my tenants. Nate not only filled my Propane tank, but also spent considerable time to make sure my furnaces came back online and that the pilot light was turned back on my water heater. Ferro is as good as it gets. I've been getting my oil from them for years and highly recommend them to others. I've always been a "will call" customer (never on a contract or scheduled fill) yet in Kennett Square, they are always there, always professional, on- or before-time just as if I was their only client. I've even run out a few times and boom! There they are! However, I didn't realize they also serviced equipment and called them in on a recent problem. Again, no contract, no comittment, yet they were out within 24 hrs and serviced my entire oil-fired hot water system, parts and labor for less than $200. Mind you, I had previously had Horizon Services out over a month before giving quotes of $500 to just under $1,000 to fix things that weren't even related! Ferro Fuel is by far the best fuel provider in Delaware County. On three different occasions I have run out of oil and within 12 hours they were at my front door and restarting my furnace. The first occurrence was Christmas Day, when my family and i arrived from vacation to a 40 degree house. I spent the evening googling different fuel companies in the area and trying to get someone out asap to refill my oil. Ferro not only was the only company willing to send someone out the next morning, but had their driver put my house first on their delivery list. Another time i ran out of oil (unfortunate trend i have) it was late on a saturday night. I called and left a message hoping someone would get back to me before monday. 30 minutes later i received a phone call from Ferro saying they can be out in the morning. He let me know i could use diesel as a quick fix until he got there. I was unaware about how to add the diesel and restart my furnace. He said he would walk me through it on the phone since he was doing late night service calls. As my Husband came back with the diesel, the driver called and said he had a service call in the area and could stop by and help. Within 10 minutes he had arrived and gotten our furnace was back on and running!! I have since started a service contract with them and am happy to give them my business for as long as I own a home in this area. All of their drivers are polite and knowledgable and they have provided me nothing but exceptional customer service. I am truly impressed with Ferro. read more

Office quoted one price, for burner cleaning, sent out a tech that took two hours, to do what other people do in one, did not clean all the filters in the burner, and charged twice the price. Said they bill by the hour. Will never use them again. Called office and they stated that was policy. What a rip off. read more

I have used Ferro Fuel for 3 years. The folks in the office and the delivery personnel are always on-time, professional and polite. In fact they have always gone above and beyond to make sure we are a happy customer, providing helpful advice and even free diagnostics that other companies would charge for. In fact they even came out to deliver oil a couple of hours after I ran out one day during a really cold winter day when I'm sure they had a lot of deliveries to make.
