My partner was suggested from his boss at work to checkout his family Italian restaurant in Sunrise, Florida. I love Italian foods and so does he. We ended up going to a family owned Italian restaurant called Scuotto's that's located at a plaza on the corner. It's like a mom and pop Italian restaurant, no stairs entering the building, and inside of the restaurant it wasn't too big, very family oriented with a lot of pictures with their family and famous people. Scuotto's have a drive-thru, you can order your food online, call in to place an order, dine in or do take out. My partner and I ate inside where we both had a glass of red wine, and for starters we had garlic knot bread. Our server was Angela known as Angie, what a big personality she has, an Italian Brooklyn accent. Angie was hilarious, very honest on everything, knew all the customers coming in, and their orders. We ordered an extra large 18" Christina backyard BBQ without any pineapples on the pizza. That pizza was so delicious I ate three in a half slices and I was stuffed like a turkey. Scuotto's offer more than pizza like chicken wings, salads, pasta dishes, calzone, strombi, and even sub sandwiches . I'm definitely going to go back there to try more delicious items. Believe it or not, this is one Sunrise pizzeria that I have never been. Unique drive thru concept with an outside covered beer garden style patio. The front door had a sticker saying "Local Favorite Slice 2023", so the anticipation of a good slice was promising. The interior screamed Sports Fanatics with framed pictures scattered on the wall with a strong emphasis on the Florida Panthers. Ordered one slice of cheese pizza which was cut from a full hot fresh pizza taken directly out of the oven and served. The slice was piping hot with heavy gooey cheese. Let it cool down for a moment then took my first bite. No undercarriage crunch although the charred thin crust was wonderful. Sweet tangy sauce and just enough infused garlic for a super taste. Added a few red pepper flakes for an added kick. Very large slice for only three dollars. The gender neutral bathroom was clean although could undergo a basic facelift. read more

The food here is actually just okay. But it scratches that need for greasy pizza when you want it and at a good price. We got a pizza, wings, and knots for about $30 you really can't beat that. I would agree with a lot of the reviews here that the staff is super friendly and attentive to people. I ate here when I was in the area and craving some pizza. The inside reminds me of an old school pizza diner, I'm sure if I looked it up the place probably has been in business for a while. Chicken Parmigiana asked for Alfredo sauce. Charged me 6 dollars to substitute the sauce and looked how it's packaged. Mistake trying for the first time forsure. Christina who served me couldn't have been nicer. She gave me something to drink to get my sugar up while I waited for my food. She got me ice for my face & turns out she's from my old neighbourhood in Brooklyn. She knew my great aunt & uncles dance studio which is quite famous. The chicken parm was yummy:) As was the cannoli. Scuottos pizza is so fresh and delicious! This is my second time trying their food, this visit i went through the drive thu. The were fast, and had friendly service. I ordered two slices of pepperoni & an order of mozzarella sticks. I order their mozzarella sticks everytime there so cheesy! Originally wanted the Marie's Margherita pizza but they were honest and told us they were out of that mozzarella cheese. We decided to do the white pizza with chicken and broccoli. We bought our house in Sunrise in 2019 and started at the pizza places around the corner and down the street. We were happy with them but one closed one location during covid. So I decided to expand the search a little. Saw that they were only a few blocks away and decided to try them once. First bite and I said I can't believe we wasted our times with the other pizza places. Since finding them we have eaten from then at least once a week, sometimes more. We'll grab a two for one pizza deal and eat the entire pie one night and I have lunch for a couple of days afterwards from it. The staff is fun, the pizza is great, we haven't had a bunch of different dishes yet, but the others we have had have been really good. Easy to get to. Great food. Fun staff. Nice location. We love this place! The first thing you will notice is how friendly everyone who works there is. That by itself makes you want to come back. Then you get the delicious fresh, hot garlic rolls. This review is based on takeout only. I will update later when I dine in. We ordered via phone and got to the restaurant in fifteen minutes. We were immediately greeted by the cashier at the "carryout" counter. He was friendly and super busy. The phone was ringing off the hook since it was dinner time on a Friday. There were some patrons in the restaurant but it wasn't too busy looking. There were four or five waitresses just standing around. There were a few other patrons waiting for takeout as well. We waited another fifteen minutes for our food which wasn't too bad since we got there early. The food was super hot and fresh out of the oven. The decor inside was pretty nice; it was very Italian and had lots of pictures of family and friends up. It definitely seems like a mom and pop shop straight out of New York. We ordered a large meatball ricotta pizza; that was good, but it was very messy to eat. The topping slipped off of the dough so make sure you fold it or eat it with a fork. We also ordered a chicken parmigiana sub, that was good, the bun was super crunchy though, if you like that. We also ordered the garlic Parmesan rolls, those were soooo good. We have had Scuotto's twice now. If I could pick a rating, I would go for 3.25 stars. Our first order from this establishment involved take out on a Sunday night. Being a New Yorker for 30 years, I'm quite picky about my pizza, but I wanted to try someplace other than Lombardi's. My dining companion and I opted to order a pizza with an Italian entree. The pizza did not excite me, but it was not necessarily bad either. If I had to rank it, I would say 7 out of 10. However, this would not be my number one pizza destination, I LOVE Lombardi's for a more authentic NY style pie. My husband rated his Italian meal about the same. They did include some garlic knots with our meal and those were amazing. The bread had a yummy buttery topping with it. Our second trip to Scuotto's was on New Year's Eve. We were going to a show at the BB&T Arena and wanted to find a spot nearby to grab a bite to eat. We had my parents with us and specifically chose this restaurant because we figured it would not be crowded on this particular holiday. The restaurant is bigger than I thought it would be and has an ample amount of seating. We had the garlic knots again, which were good. I opted for a small pizza, 2 others had entrees and the 4th member of our party had Antipasto. Overall, we just found the food to be average here. On two separate occasions I've ordered delivery, from the old location and then the new location. Both times it took them close to two hours to deliver my food when I'm maybe 2 miles away. I called the first time and they were very nonchalant and unapologetic about the delay. The 2nd time I was even more aggravated because I offered to pick up and she said there wasn't much of a difference in the times between pick up and delivery so I waited yet again almost TWO hours for my COLD pizza to arrive. This was the worst Italian restaurant experience I have ever had! Order the food through slice at 6:10pm the order came at 9:45pm. It came cold and dry. I'm torn between writing about the food or the service. Yelp to the Rescue ---- I'm hungry in an unfamiliar neighborhood. I find myself a place to eat. Walking in ---- I am met with a photo of an officer at the 9/11 WTC. I pause --- as I soak in the rest of the photos, I realize this is family and this is the family and friends album. It goes right to the very center of me. (but I say nothing, for I am hungry and have just left a dear friend who is recovering from a severe stroke) I am greeted warmly as I settle on to a bar seat. Of course, a glass of house wine (oh no, 2 for 1) Every thing looks wonderful (ah, because it is Italian?!) As I write this now, I cannot tell you what I ordered. What I remember is that the rolls where just like I use to make when (so long ago), I worked in an Italian family restaurant. I am so picky about those rolls. What I do remember, was the feeling of being welcomed, of delicious food, good drink and a deep and personal conversation about 9/11 that brought back the feeling that we are all so closely connected. Guy on the stove had a mask but must have been hot as it was on his chin most of the time I stood and waited for my order. Brought order home. Hubby loved the chicken parm and I was meh over my choice. Should've chosen something else. Not bad, just wasn't what I had built in my head.
