    Fried Calamari

This is a family owned restaurant located in a strip plaza set back off of Commercial Blvd & Pine Island Rd. When we walked in, we were told by staff that he would be right with us because he was taking care of a take out customer. He ended up being our server and was very friendly. We ordered Fried Calamari, Garlic Bread, Meatball Parm Sub & Cheese Pizza with light cheese. Everything that came out to us was steaming hot! The Fried Calamari was lightly breaded and so good. The Garlic Bread was light and crispy and VERY garlicky. Yum! They were VERY good! My husband had been craving meatballs and this satisfied his craving. My husband has been watching this pizza place on IG (I think it's in New York) where you can pick the pizza slice up with one hand and it doesn't collapse. This is that kind of pizza. I saw the Sun Dried Tomato on the menu but didn't order it. I wish I did because I heard that it was imported from Italy and excellent. Everything was so delicious! I'm glad we came here.

This was an amazing meal! Great service, too!! Fried calamari and mozzarella sticks for appetizers. Delicious! Lasagna for our meal was the best. Ricotta cheese cake and cannolis went home with us!!

Had a good lunch here today. But after reading some of the reviews, I was hesitant to eat here. I'd asked my girlfriend to choose our meeting spot -- I can't always choose the restaurant we go to... and this was her selection. I'd never been on this street before, or this part of Tamarac, even, but GPS guided me right here. There's a Jamaican restaurant next door too. The small restaurant turned out to be a nice, neighborhood Italian place. And it was perfect for meeting a friend. We were able to dine leisurely and chat. It got a bit busier but noise was never a problem. I ordered one of their lunch specials -- all reasonably priced. Each entree came with soup or salad. I opted for salad -- a mix of greens with cherry tomatoes and onions. For my entree I chose their chicken piccata which was white meat chicken breast in a lemon sauce with capers and artichoke hearts. A touch of added salt was all it needed. It came with spaghetti with the same sauce and a piece of broccoli. My girlfriend got a large salad from the regular part of the menu. It looked gorgeous. In addition to shrimp, it had green olives, onions, pepperoncinis, sliced tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, roasted red pepper, and buffalo mozzarella cheese over a bed of lettuce. She loved it with some balsamic dressing. Service was friendly and accommodating. Prices were inexpensive and portions were large.

I had an appointment at the VA Outpatient Clinic on way out West Commercial Blvd for a blood draw. Having not eaten since 4:00 the day before, I relied on the "Vampires of the VA" to recommend a lunch location. They recommended Milano's, a restaurant that does a bunch of deliveries to the VA staff. With plenty of corporate restaurants within a mile of the VA OPC, I just had to try them out. A block north of Commercial on NW 88th Ave, Milano's is located at the west end of a non-descript strip mall. The interior a dated and plain yet very clean. The menu was a paper throw-away full of wonderful dishes. So many, I was a bit torn for selecting. I went with the a bowl of Pastafagoli folllwed by a Chicken Marsala that was the best I've ever had. Finally, you can judge a restaurant by their bolonese and pasta. Like the Marsala, the bolonese was a thick and richly tasty delight. $26.32 including iced tea and cheesy garlic toast. Great service by Josh. I cannot wait for my next blood letting! Check out Milano's. You won't regret it

i've been coming here for YEARS & have not been disappointed ONCE! everything here is great, but my personal favorite is their pizza!!! Tony throws down in the kitchen! I definitely recommend!

These people are great. They are friendly and polite and know their business. The meals I have are amazingly well made and flavorful. They are hearty and servings are big enough to be shared (if y'alls want). The place is classic looking and the decore is very nice and smartly done and very clean.... I always judge by washrooms. Their pizza are great and pastas are really fresh made. The wine is my favorite. They have deep reds, fruity reds, whites and my absolute favorite the moscato it is fruity with a hint of pear and / or probably peach. I just love it always take a bottle with me when I leave... so yummmm... Ok so there you have it, great little restaurant hidden away in plantation which is great because as they say the bigger a restaurant is, the less quality you get. This is a mom and pop place and they take pride in their food and care of their customers. As I always say: "Try it first and decide for yourself, you'll never know unless you do" Be safe - peace out.

It was our first time at Divieto ... although my husband thinks we've been there before. (Ummmm,…read moreno, no we haven't.) Anyway, in any case, we enjoyed it thoroughly, and that's why I'm doubling down that we haven't been there before - we would have been back! It was our anniversary and a Saturday, and fortunately we went early enough to avoid the rush. The hostess was lovely and, when I mentioned we usually like to sit at the bar, she said not to worry about our reservation and sit wherever we like. We ended up at a table because the bar was pretty crowded and we wanted a more quiet evening. So, Ben was our server and he was fantastic! He gave me a solid recommendation when I asked for his opinion, he was attentive without being a pest, and he had a great personality. I don't rave about a server, but he was a gem! We had a Caesar salad, spaghetti and meatballs and calamari. My husband said the spaghetti and meatballs were very good and the calamari was one of the best I've had anywhere - totally crunchy yet tender. (Thank you, Ben, for the recommendation!) The meal is served with a crusty bread and oil with balsamic, and I love a crusty bread. We were treated to an anniversary dessert of a brownie with ice cream, and who doesn't like that?! Anyway, it truly was a nice evening. I can understand why the reviews are so positive, and it's always a pleasant surprise when expectations are not only met but exceeded!

It was very casual.. all the service staff that we encounter were very friendly and although they were busy, our server was doing his best to check on us and get us what we need. We did not get any appetizers as we saw how big the portions were coming out of the kitchen for the dinners. We ordered the filet mignon and the chicken Parm with penne à la Vaca sauce I will say the steak was outstanding. I listed in my top three filet mignon that I've had. There is nothing I could say bad about it, and I did not expect this quality of steak from an Italian restaurant. The chicken Parm was an nice size portion and had great flavor with the penny à la sauce. The reason I did not give them five stars is because the pasta that came with it was way overcooked and not al dente. It did have a mushy texture. As for the chicken itself, it had great flavor however, the breading on it was kind of doughy like it had sat in the sauce for too long before it was brought to our table. We are definitely gonna return to this location as we really enjoyed ourselves.
