    Lunch specials

Had a good lunch here today. But after reading some of the reviews, I was hesitant to eat here. I'd asked my girlfriend to choose our meeting spot -- I can't always choose the restaurant we go to... and this was her selection. I'd never been on this street before, or this part of Tamarac, even, but GPS guided me right here. There's a Jamaican restaurant next door too. The small restaurant turned out to be a nice, neighborhood Italian place. And it was perfect for meeting a friend. We were able to dine leisurely and chat. It got a bit busier but noise was never a problem. I ordered one of their lunch specials -- all reasonably priced. Each entree came with soup or salad. I opted for salad -- a mix of greens with cherry tomatoes and onions. For my entree I chose their chicken piccata which was white meat chicken breast in a lemon sauce with capers and artichoke hearts. A touch of added salt was all it needed. It came with spaghetti with the same sauce and a piece of broccoli. My girlfriend got a large salad from the regular part of the menu. It looked gorgeous. In addition to shrimp, it had green olives, onions, pepperoncinis, sliced tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, roasted red pepper, and buffalo mozzarella cheese over a bed of lettuce. She loved it with some balsamic dressing. Service was friendly and accommodating. Prices were inexpensive and portions were large.

I had an appointment at the VA Outpatient Clinic on way out West Commercial Blvd for a blood draw. Having not eaten since 4:00 the day before, I relied on the "Vampires of the VA" to recommend a lunch location. They recommended Milano's, a restaurant that does a bunch of deliveries to the VA staff. With plenty of corporate restaurants within a mile of the VA OPC, I just had to try them out. A block north of Commercial on NW 88th Ave, Milano's is located at the west end of a non-descript strip mall. The interior a dated and plain yet very clean. The menu was a paper throw-away full of wonderful dishes. So many, I was a bit torn for selecting. I went with the a bowl of Pastafagoli folllwed by a Chicken Marsala that was the best I've ever had. Finally, you can judge a restaurant by their bolonese and pasta. Like the Marsala, the bolonese was a thick and richly tasty delight. $26.32 including iced tea and cheesy garlic toast. Great service by Josh. I cannot wait for my next blood letting! Check out Milano's. You won't regret it

i've been coming here for YEARS & have not been disappointed ONCE! everything here is great, but my personal favorite is their pizza!!! Tony throws down in the kitchen! I definitely recommend!

What a wonderful Italian Grill! The nearball special served with focaccia bread was tender, juicy and flavorful! Rhe veal Parmigiano was spot on, and the penne alla vodka was better than when i was actually in Italy! Our service was excellent and Gabriella made our experience even better! I highly recommend this quaint little place in Tamarac!

And the endless soup, salad, and breadsticks?! Unmatched. This location opened fairly recently near the sawgrass mall, and it feels a little nicer, with a bar area too. I love that they have lighter portion entree options! I feel like I never finish my meal at restaurants, and some things just don't reheat well. This is a great option that I really feel like more places should have. I also love the buy one/take one promotion. I got the lighter portion fettuccine and still wasn't able to finish it, plus a take home entree. So for a reasonable price, I essentially got three meals. Such a good deal! My only complaint is that we were standing at the host stand for a pretty decent amount of time before anyone came over. They did have a huge party waiting that I think was overwhelming, but I think it could've been managed better.

Large bay doors stay open, creating an inviting open-air atmosphere with plenty of fresh air and a relaxed vibe. Inside, every table has a view of the traditional wood-burning brick oven, along with multiple flat screens and music playing throughout the restaurant. One detail that stood out immediately was the visible service dog sign near the hostess stand. I was seated right away, and they even brought out a water bowl for my service dog without needing to ask. The server was knowledgeable about the menu, offered helpful recommendations, and confirmed they provide a 20% discount for military members and first responders on select meals, which is always appreciated. I shared a large Mona Lisa pizza topped with fresh basil, prosciutto, and thick slices of tomato. The thin crust came out perfectly crisp with just the right amount of char from the brick oven. Service was friendly overall, although it appeared the server may have been covering too many tables. Drink refills were missed, and it took a little while to close out the check. Even with that, the food, atmosphere, military-friendly discount, and service dog accommodations make this a place worth visiting for either lunch or dinner.

It wasn't overly fried and had good flavor. We decided to have the chappino for two, it basically seafood soup. It had lobster, shrimp, clams, muscles, white fish and some pasta. It came out already split from the kitchen. It was very good. Considering how many people we were, and we all had separated checks, the service was impeccable. Beautiful spacious interior with a comfortable covered patio and two wine rooms. Took a seat at the corner of the u-shaped bar and had trouble pulling my chair under the bar top which was touching my thighs. To say the least it was uncomfortable dining but my wife and I like sitting at bars for the one-on-one service. Tonight the bartender Hugo served us focaccia bread with fresh tomatoes and evoo that was delish and got seconds. The chicken parmigiana was enormous with zesty tomato sauce and a side of thick mash potatoes and broccoli which I split with my wife. We also ordered a large bowl of mussels but they were undercooked with sand grinding in my rear molars. The bartender removed the mussels from the bill without any issue. Loved the coal fired pizza oven and the bakery. The gender assigned bathroom was clean and modern.

We started with the complimentary rolls that were very nice and the butter served with them...YES!! My mom ordered the "Italian Chopped Salad" which I told her I didn't want any of... until I tried it. There were so many flavors, all delicious, and the serving was enough for 2-3 people. I highly recommend starting out with this salad (although it would be a bit much if you're dining solo). For my main dish, I went with the lasagna and my mom chose the Chickenn Romano (I think). My lasagna came out in a beautiful Staub rectangular dish and was absolutely delectable! I can not wait to go back and order this again. My mom's chicken dish was also very, very good! I ordered a side of Brussel sprouts that were cooked to perfection. We were both so happy with our choices. My mom and I enjoyed a chocolate martini as well. The ambiance is definitely a date night vibe, especially if you sit towards the back. The front is more of a sophisticated bar vibe. The service can be improved as it took a really long time for things to come out for our game but not the other table and the server seemed awkward with a few things. With practice they'll get better. It won't deter me from going back again as the food was excellent! Kudos to the chef! Parking lot in the front with free parking.
