I had seven different people walk my dog in a year. It seems they have a hard time maintaining staff. Of those seven, two were great, but that's not a winning ratio. I'd sent several notices about the most recent walker as to why the walls were so short (in terms of distance). She actually wrote back that my dog is just slow so they don't make it as far, blamed the heat, etc. I wasn't buying it, but yesterday was home when the walker stopped by. She parked directly in front of my house, walked my dog for 15 minutes and left. I received a notice saying my dog had been walked 30 minutes. Now I know that there was nothing lazy about my dog--I was being shorted in walks! To learn that you are getting half of what you're paying for is maddening. I cancelled them immediately! read more

I have two cats - one super shy and the other crazy - and Fetch's sitters have been fantastic! They send a pet sitter for an initial, free consultation to meet the pets, which was great! I used one of their sitters, Donna, both over Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and she was just wonderful - I'm kind of a paranoid mom and she checks in with me, e-mail and text, to let me know how my girls are doing after each time she visits. Maria is a warm, gentle, woman who made us feel like we had known her for years. She cared for our kitties for 2 weeks which was the longest we had ever needed to be away from them so I was a bit nervous. She was great at keeping in touch while we were gone. Not only did she send almost daily email updates with a photo, but she also kept notes for us on paper. I'm pretty sure we forgot to leave batteries out for a new toy and she must have gotten some on her own to make it run. Stray litter spillage had been swept up which we really appreciated. With past sitters at other companies that was overlooked. The only problem was that I requested the litter be completely emptied, wiped, and filled with brand new litter halfway through the 2 week time period and it didn't seem like this was done. There was too much litter in the box- it was about 6+ inches deep and i think she just kept adding more clean litter on top after scooping. The ammonia was really noxious because of this. I'm sure long-term cat care like this isn't as common for Maria and next time we have her I'll be sure to make sure I'm clear about this step! Really appreciated being able to trust Fetch pet care. We actually had theft problems with a different company! We will definitely hire again and ask for Maria. read more

I just moved to DC and was looking for someone to check-in on my cat when I had to travel. Fetch has been great. They come check up on my cat and then send me an email letting me know how things are going. The online reservation and payment system is super easy and they are dependable. My cat-sitter (Nina who is awesome) even emailed me to let me know that the weather in DC had gotten really cold and offered to turn the heat on so the cat would be more comfortable. My Fiance and I decided to get a puppy pretty quickly, and I needed a dog walker ASAP to be able to let him out 2 times a day while we were at work. The entire experience using Fetch! Pet Care was easy and seamless. Also, the level of attentiveness and responsiveness displayed by the staff is top notch. I love that Fetch! connects you with a sitter within a couple of days and gives you the space to arrange a meet and greet with you/your pet(s) prior to the initial service date. I had two male cats that are friendly but can take awhile to warm up. Within minutes of Allison being there, one of them came out and walked on up to her for a treat and chin scratches. She immediately shifted her focus to getting to know him and making sure he felt comfortable with her. I knew then and there that they would be in good hands. Sadly, we had to put that cat down as a result of terminal renal lymphoma prior to Allison coming over to take care of them. When I let them know of what had happened, Jay at Fetch! immediately responded with a kind note and adjustment to the service request from two cats to one. Allison came in to visit with my other cat twice a day and made sure he had companionship and was well taken care of. I loved the pics and timely notes/updates she would provide after every visit. I was new to the DC area and had to go out of town for a week and needed someone to stop in and check on my cat while I was away. Brenda was assigned to me and I could not be more happy! So my wife and I used fetch for the last several months for our cats. The service was good and we have become very close to our sitter. I knew her from before, so it was a no brainier. I asked her about her compensation. She declined to answer. I asked again a couple of weeks ago and learned that she makes 50% of the money I'm laying fetch. So every $20 I pay, she gets a little less than $9. I feel like for such an excellent service, they should most definitely compensate their sitters more than 50%_ since they are doing all the hard work! Needless to say, I've hired her on the side and pay her the entire amount. Other than the compensation, I think the service is good. Responsive to your emails. Just wish they treated their employees a little better. read more
