I reached out back in 2021 when my husband and I first moved to the area and received a response that they were booked for the dates I was requesting. I completely understood that as I was requesting for only a month out (it was fine, we would figure it out). I then responded looking to book for future dates but received no response back. I ended up finding an independent pet sitter for the dates I needed but thought I would reach back out a year and a half later to see if I would have better luck with a response. Again, I was told in April that they were booked solid through the end of August...I responded saying I would still like to book an initial consultation so that I would be able to request future dates. I never received a response. It was extremely off-putting that they wouldn't even take a new customer who was willing to be flexible and work around next available dates. I have now found a much more professional, friendly, and responsive pet sitting company who I have been recommending to everyone who's asked me instead. It was disappointing to say the least and I hope others have a more positive experience.

I would recommend not using this company. I have left several messages and no return call. If they…read morecan't even return your call I certainly wouldn't trust them with my pet.

You can tell they truly pay attention to each animal as an individual--they were caring, attentive, and thoughtful about each cat's specific needs. They also did an amazing job working with each cat's personality to ensure a smooth experience and to prevent unnecessary stress. Because of how they managed things, I feel confident our cats will have a better boarding experience in the future. We're very grateful for the great care we received and highly recommend Swift Creek Animal Hospital.

We called an emergency vet and they said they would need to see what was happening to properly diagnose her, so they advised waiting and taking a video if she has another episode (which is a separate issue with another facility). Rather than risk a 30 minute drive to a questionable emergency vet, we figured Swift Creek would help. We were in the parking lot waiting when they opened at 8am. My husband explained the situation, and my dog clearly had seizures (we did take a video at that point), but they told us to go to urgent care. Even when told that she was now having seizures 3-4 hours apart and waiting another 3 hours for urgent care to open would allow time for another seizure, they still said they would not see her. They have been this dog's vet for all 5 years of her life and have seen all our other dogs over the course of 15 years, yet they turned us away when our dog really needed help. Fortunately, we found another vet that was open and willing to see her. They gave her a sedative and seizure medication. They did nothing that Swift Creek didn't have the ability to do, other than show compassion. Swift Creek might be fine when your pet is well, but don't count on them to help when you really need them.

Really disappointing experience at Pet Paradise in Chesterfield…read more We brought our beagle in for the first time, and he normally LOVES other dogs. He is typically very social, excited, and happy around other dogs and is not normally a nervous or fearful dog at all. We had all of his paperwork ready and were excited for him to try the facility. From the moment we walked in, though, the whole process seemed to make him increasingly anxious. No one acknowledged us when we arrived. I actually ran into a friend who was dropping off her dog, and she introduced me to the staff and even mentioned that I was a friend of theirs. Still, we barely got a hello. Meanwhile, dogs were coming in and being helped while we continued to sit there. Several dogs were barking and carrying on around our dog, and the longer we waited, the more nervous he became. What bothered me was watching a dog who normally gets excited about seeing other dogs become visibly scared simply from sitting in that environment waiting to be helped. By the time someone finally checked us in, he was already extremely nervous. There was also almost no explanation of what was going to happen. I had to ask all of the questions. Their website talks about tours for new guests, but we were never offered a tour. No one walked us through the facility, explained the process, told us how they introduce a new dog to the group, or really gave us any idea what to expect. It was basically, "We'll take him back." About 15 minutes later, they called my wife and told us to come pick him up because he was extremely scared. That was especially frustrating because he wasn't scared when we brought him there. He became scared during the process of waiting, being surrounded by barking dogs, and then being taken into an unfamiliar environment without, from our perspective, much effort being made to help him become comfortable. What bothered me most was the complete lack of effort or explanation afterward. No one explained what they tried, how they introduced him, whether they gave him time to settle down, or what specifically happened once he went back. There was no conversation about trying a quieter introduction or another approach. It felt like they simply took an already-nervous dog into the back, decided very quickly that he was scared, and called us to come get him. The whole experience felt chaotic and impersonal. There was loud music playing when we walked in, lots of barking and commotion, and nothing about the experience made me feel like the priority was making a first-time dog comfortable. The loud, upbeat atmosphere may be designed to look fun to people, but I'm not sure how much it helps a nervous dog who is already overstimulated. We also didn't see any of the fun atmosphere we expected based on the advertising -- no tour, no explanation of the pool or activities, and no real attempt to make us or our dog comfortable. I completely understand that not every dog is going to be a good fit for daycare. But when a dog who normally loves other dogs arrives happy and ends up extremely scared before he has even really had a chance to settle in, I think the way the introduction was handled deserves some scrutiny. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Pet Paradise Chesterfield, particularly for someone bringing their dog there for the first time.
