Fetty"s never misses if you find yourself at the same event as them in Columbus Ohio it's a no brainer, I have explored most of their menu and I will update with more pictures but this last special they had hit it out of the park! I finally tracked down Fetty's at the Columbus Commons for lunch last week! The Commons hosts a Food Truck Food Court from 11am to 2pm on Thursdays and has about 8 trucks to pick from but I've been specifically waiting for Fetty's so I could get my hands on their famous Crispy Panaeng Chicken that they usually sell out of fairly quickly. The wait and scouting was well worth it because this stuff is delicious! The curry sauce is very flavorful, not very spicy and a little on the sweeter side. The crispy chicken is breaded and fried perfectly and paired with white rice. I'll be on the lookout for Fettys in the near future! read more

I visited again this week, and my favorite chicken salad was not on the menu of the day. I had to branch out. Due to other favorable reviews, I chose the Bunny Chow entree. I'm so glad I did! It was a wonderful sauce, with chunks of chicken and a large bread chunk. I ate it inside the bread, and out. Love it. Damian is a cool dude, and his South African themed dishes have been a real hit around town. I fell head over heels for their colorful printed t-shirts, and I'd been wanting to try their South African food ever since they started their truck. S. African food does have Indian influences, so I was pumped. I tried the Crispy Yellow Chicken dish - breaded chicken pieces, a yellow curry sauce on top of rice. It was an excellent dish!! Damian was right, the curry was not spicy, just nicely spiced with flavors that all blended really well. The chicken pieces were tender, and the breading was on the lighter side, which was perfect! Damian pointed out if you buy a Fetty's shirt, and you wear it to the truck, you get $1 off your meal every time. Yum! I decided to try something new while we had food trucks on campus, and I'm really glad I did! After reading the reviews on Yelp, I decided to order the Bunny Chow. We visited the Fetty's Street Food Truck parked outside the Homestead Beer Company in Heath for HBC's 6th anniversary last night. Thai-African cuisine makes for some good flavors. I ordered their crispy yellow chicken which was in a curry coconut sauce, served with steamed rice. My husband had the falafel and we each got a samosa, which is masala potatoes inside a cumin pastry. Everything was great, and there was even enough to take leftovers home. I checked in via Yelp and was offered a coupon for $1.00 off but he told me it couldn't take it. That was disappointing, and I wonder why not. I had a similar instance happen with one other restaurant. I'm not sure how Yelp coordinates with businesses, but too bad not all offers are honored. It's hard to believe I'm the first to review Fetty's; Yelp's search must be messed up. I've heard of them and wanted to try their stuff out, and saw them once but couldn't wait at the time, so when I heard they were going to be at Newark's Market Street Soda (where I go often anyway for great root beer,) I had to check them out. I think I was their first customer, and they eagerly explained the menu. Their FB page says they started as a food stall in South Africa. They have South African favorites, a blend of cultures including Indian, Chinese, and Thai with African traditions. I wanted one of everything, but settled for samosas and bunny chow. I've like samosas since my friend's mom made them as study snacks in high school, and these were small versions of those: crispy outside, puffy, with potatoes and peas inside and a touch of spice. There was an herbal dipping sauce, good but unnecessary. The bunny chow was cubed butter chicken in a very mild curry sauce, in a great, sturdy bread "bowl." A dollop of sour cream on top added a nice coolness. I'm glad I had a place to sit- it was huge, and standing up in the tray, so it would be hard to eat while walking around. Hot and fresh and tasty, comfort food anywhere in the world. Prices are a little high, but it is great quality and large portions. I sat in Market Street to eat, and got a draft soda there. I will definitely search out Fetty's and try some of the other stuff on the menu. read more

The sauce on the chicken was super thin and overly sweet. I thought it would be a little spicer or at least not just soy and sugar. The chicken was dark meat, which I'm fine with, but it was super fatty and grizzly. The rice was fine but was drenched in the sauce. Best food truck in Columbus. If you're afraid of bold flavors, this is not for you. But if you want your taste buds to do a happy dance, find this truck and dive in. I've never had anything that disappointed. The Panang chicken is zingy and somehow crunchy under the sauce; the bunny chow is savory and filling, with the accompanying raita a beautiful contrast; the General Tso's is garlicky and not sticky sweet like so many restaurants make it... And any of Damien's more "experimental" dishes (other than one of the four or five perennial favorites) is well worth taking the chance. read more
