We went to many different granites/stone/quartz places in the area. There's an area in San Leandro with tons of stone places and many were recommended to me. I actually stumbled across this place from googling/yelping locations. This was the cheapest and met our needs with NO issues. I guess what we were looking for was a little bit particular so it was a challenge. Since they also do cabinets, we inquired about the cabinetry. We were pleasantly surprised they were able to honor our specific request with no additional surcharge. The price for replacing our countertop and adding unique cabinets was very reasonable, we were very pleased. Pauline helped us and she is very helpful and nice. She was very responsive to our concerns and answered all our questions. As a first renovation, it's important to also never make any assumption and ask lots of questions. Since they are a cabinet and stone place, don't assume they will take care of plumbing or electrical. I asked about this beforehand so I was fully aware what was included and not included in the price. The people showed up that day and finished the job exactly as expected. There is one little thing about the work that day that bother me is that they used one of my clean bowls in the cabinets to store some old faceplates. I prefer they would have asked before touching anything in the cabinets and using them for something. I would have used something else to store the faceplates. I give FGY two stars because the cabinets are beautiful but the overall experience was frustrating. Too many things to mention and not enough space. My biggest advice is to have a really clear understanding of your kitchen design and what services are provided. My design did not include draws on the draft (not sure how that happened) even though they were listed on the inventory list. I did not realize it until I was putting my dishes back and had no place for my utensils. When I called the store and asked about it, I was given the runaround until Erika stepped in. The only solution was to install drawers in my cabinet. So I lose cabinet space. Unfortunately, if I don't completely open both doors when accessing the drawers, they scratch up the inside of the cabinet door. The other warning is to know that you will spend extra on plumbing and electrical installation because it's not included. read more

Just finished a kitchen/living room remodel with quartz countertops and tile from FGY Stone and Tile in Hayward at 30120 Industrial Parkway SW. Service was wonderful in spite of obstacles caused by Covid surges and supply chain issues. Our retail representative, Robert provided excellent advice regarding the layout and quartz choices and Harry and Kevin, our installation crew for quartz did spectacular work with the countertops and the 3person team that did our tile work were efficient and exceptionally skilled. Remodeled our kitchen in May of this year. From start to finish, FGY was excellent. Went in with our basic overall kitchen dimensions and they had a very nice 3-d concept drawing within 15 minutes! We had some changes along the way and they were very prompt with response and overall communication. The installation was perfect and their installers worked fast and were very thorough. My office is in the midst of a makeover - three years of drive-by snacking resulted in several carpet stains that deep cleaning couldn't get out. Our snack area was in desperate need of tile flooring...then came FGY Stone & Cabinet. We told them what we wanted, and when we went to their showroom, the lovely sales rep was very knowledgeable and patient as she helped us select the right tile for our needs. It was a tough decision - they have quite the selection! She also recommended a contractor since we didn't have one. After all that was said and done, the price tag was fair and we were happy! One stop shop = SCORE! Fast forward to the day of the job: the guys came in on time and started right away. Noise was to a minimum, and they worked quick! They did make sure to check with us anytime they weren't sure of anything (ie make sure we approved how it looked). Before we knew it all the tiles were laid. Unfortunately, they couldn't finish the job that day, but offered to come Saturday to finish. We asked for Monday, and early that morning they returned. They knocked out the grout, applied the transition, and cleaned up in less than two hours. We're very pleased with the end product - it turned out better than we expected! Today we had a 3 man crew come and stay for 8 hours installing shower walls with a glass tile trim. They were on time and worked very hard. They showed great craftsmanship dialing in the unique features of our shower. We have a window that required custom fitting. These guys are pros. They cleaned up all of their workstation debris before leaving. Very friendly and conscientious. Fair pricing. Highly recommended. read more

We had most of our work done from the first location, but since we visited and had work done from this location as well, it seems fitting to place the review here. -- The employees being able to speak more than one language actually benefitted my family because while I could speak English, I knew nothing about how I wanted our family kitchen to turn out. Luckily because the salespeople there can speak Chinese as well as English, they were able to communicate effectively with both me and my parents, accommodating their needs and tailoring the kitchen to their liking. As a first-generation Asian American who doesn't struggle with speaking english on a daily basis, it's always calming to see my parents able to effectively express what they want and how they want it, especially when it came to matters of the home aka it's nice to see my parents in the zone. Overall, it's pleasant to watch my mom cook in a remodeled kitchen every night. We ultimately ended up with the blue pearl for our countertop (i wanted black galaxy, but once again, she who does not pay, does not have a choice) and something yellow, sparkly and shiny on our floors. It's actually a good choice to go with granite for our kitchen floors because we own three dogs and if you're a dog owner, you should expect that as properly trained as they are, there will always be slip-ups. It's definitely less of a hassle to clean their messes on granite floors because the stench is easier to get rid of and the mess too, something my parents are happy for (there's your dog-owner tip of the day). We also had all our bathrooms done, so every night I feel fancy in my own bathroom. I can understand that a lot of customers get thrown off by employees whose first languages are Chinese, but I can't grapple the surprise these reviews talk about. There are Chinese characters literally plastered on the outside of the store, so I don't understand the shock in finding out that the store would have some employees whose grasp of english could potentially be limited. I can't speak for others but so long as it seems that you're ultimately on the same page with the salesperson for what you envision on your kitchen, then you're good. If it seems you'd like the luxury of a remodeled kitchen on a very reasonable budget, there's bound to be some advantages and disadvantages of making that choice. read more

Pauline is the greatest sales person - she really helped us through the process of redoing our kitchen with granite. I did not know anything - she steered us through the right direction. She was patient with us when we could not find the right pieces and gave me choices that made sense. The lead man that installed our counter tops was a perfectionist and if he was not happy he redid it without being asked. A true professional in every sense of the word. I will be telling everyone I know who wants a redo in their kitchen or bath to call these folks! I cannot wait for my entire family to see how beautiful it all looks. Oh and it was done in ONE DAY! FGY rocks! I had floors and kitchen done. I want to foremost thank Rachael who helped me design a beautiful kitchen when it was too tiny to even dream. There were logistics along the way that we had to figure out and I do not speak the first language of the workers but they pick up on body language etc. very well. They are hard working and fast! No matter what my concerns all the employees at the offices helped me get the solution quickly. I had them come back for a few things and it was no struggle, they really aim to make you happy. I have referred many people to them including my neighbors who are equally pleased. They made my ugly 40 yr old kitchen look like a modern dream at a very affordable price. As a construction company we do many remodels. We had a customer that we were doing a kitchen remodel for. This was being funded on a bank loan so we had a very strict time line. We had our customer come to FGY to pick out everything for their kitchen. When our customer came in to FGY they had there blue prints so it was very clear on the size and dimensions they were working with. We ordered a kitchen sink, cabinets and counter top. Amy was the employee that was assisting. Let me begin with the cabinets: When we ordered the cabinets, they sold us cabinets that have side panels on them. After we purchased and paid for the cabinets we were then told that the side panels that were promised didn't come on this model. The side panels that did come with this model later were falling off the cabinet when they arrived. The diagram and picture that Amy generated for the draws had 4 draws for the bottom cabinets. When they arrived they only had 3 draws. They did nothing about this. One of the cabinets was on back order and we were promised this would only take 2-3 weeks to get in. This has taken 2 months to come in. The cabinet's size was ordered incorrectly that there were gaps in between the cabinets that we later had to purchase more special order cabinets to fill in. An additional cost to us for their mistake. These cabinets were pre fab made. We were told means they come all put together. They were not. We were expected to put them together and screw in all the screws to put the drawers together. The cabinets came with scratches and chips on them. They did nothing to about this. The cabinet in front of the kitchen sink was to look like a false drawer. There can't be a drawer there because your kitchen sink is there. The cabinet came with a drawer. So we had to remove the drawer to replace with a false drawer. For all these mistakes it cost us over $2,000.00 additionally. Upon pick up of the additional cabinets needed to finish the kitchen, all the cabinets were scratched and they gave us a garbage can for the compensation of this. This is a direct reflection of this company. This takes me to the kitchen sink. The kitchen sink that our customer ordered was a very specific sink. They gave us an estimate for the kitchen sink and said this was the last one. We went ahead and purchased that sink. When the sink was delivered and installed it was the wrong sink. When we compared the quote and the receipt they had changed the item without telling the customer or us the contactor. The sink was installed and it was now too late to change it. They did nothing about this. Now on to the counter top, the counter top was scheduled to be put in. Although in order for the counter top to be installed you must have the cabinets installed. Due to all the issues I have stated above we were could not have the counter top installed when the cabinets had so many problems. Once the counter top is installed you cannot make any changes to the cabinets. We requested our install appointment to be pushed back one day, due to FGY's mistakes. They then charged us a cancellation fee of $250. When the cabinets are finally finished the next day we scheduled the counter top to be installed. They guys came out from FGY to do this. They installed the counter top not to the dimensions that were ordered. They then buffed half of the counter. When we asked them to come out and finish the counter they said they were busy and it would take a few days. So we have this counter top that we have paid for in full and are not finished and we are not able to use. If you use this when it is not finished it can damage the counter top. The CEO of our company Gable Payne has tried to talk to someone at FGY and all of the sudden they don't speak very good English and don't understand the issues we are having. What is very unfair is they make you pay in full and they you have many many mistakes and damaged products. When you would like a refund or a credit back for the problems they make it so hard to talk to anyone who can do this. We have had horrible service, defective damaged products, diagrams and pictures of the final paid product to later it is not available, time lines of products purchased that are incorrect. We have had to pay for mistakes that were FGY's has made, and purchase additional products to fix their mistakes. We would like a refund of the $250 for the cancelation fee that we had to cancel due to their mistake. We would like a credit for the additional cabinets we had to purchase due to FGY's mistakes. What has happened to us is very unfair and should not be something a company should be able to get away with. The garbage can they gave us is a direct reflection of the overall experience we have had. read more

I was involved in commercial construction for over 3 decades which I realize is very different from residential. Regardless, tile is tile and counter tops are counter tops. Quality of the materials was on par with the industry standard. But up front design/estimating work made the decision making process very easy. And then the promised dates for delivery and installation were met and almost exceeded! The floors and counter tops were protected and even mopped by the tile team on their hands and knees when finished. I would recommend FGY for any residential project and in fact, have them coming back for another remodel endeavor coming up. read more
