The customer service is good, I will not deny that. I just can't believe they made such a big deal of me trying to return moldings they over calculated and I didn't need. Also my dad bought his flooring here and they didn't want to accept a return of 1 box! After buying over $3,000 of flooring and $5,000 of cabinets for them to deny a simple return of maybe $100 max seems unfair. It's not the employee fault it's the company policy they have to follow. They advertise white and then deliver Beige and call it Off-White...Bait and switch. They do not stand behind their product. However, what they do is protect themselves behind clauses. If you very (and I meant very) handy with residential electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, as well as paint touch up and debris cleaning then FGY is definitely worth it for your kitchen project. But don't expect your dream kitchen materialize in front of your eyes after they are done. Granted, they have good pricing and willing to negotiate to boot, that's why we selected them out from many other contractors. But that's where the sweetness ends after $12K bitter later... They will not hookup water pipes, electrical, and vents back after ripping out all the kitchen cabinets, countertop, hood, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, etc. when they start the job. So putting them back is on you, or you can start Yelping for plumber or electrician if the need arise! And you already know there is no way to schedule anybody at moment notice, right? So have your running shoes at the ready when FGY contractors need a water valve, couple of hoses, couple pieces of 2x4... or own a fuel sipping car 'cause you going to make bunch of trips to nearby hardware stores! If you are into micro management, then FGY is for you. I have to constantly watch them when they install cabinet doors as many occasions the new cabinet doors banging on installed countertop or cabinet because their policy states they only fix things when they there. After complain about cabinet door banging on counter top, they grinded the counter top, crooked! So if you are assuming they use common senses when they install to the cabinets, you are in for a real treat! If the range hood exhaust hole on the side of your house no longer line up because the hood moves a foot from its original location due to their design, tough luck! You on your own there buddy! Or you can pay handyman (or handywoman) to fabricate that s-shape galvanize tube for venting, or if you like to warm up your house in this winter from the cooking fume then by all means! If your definition of a job well done is to move everything back in to whip up that delicious entries in your spanking new kitchen when they done, then forget about it! You will need few days or week after to scrub that junks left on your new cabinets or back splash, hook up cooking range gas, connect water lines to your refrigerator and dishwasher, plug-in all your appliances, or hack up cabinet to match the vent holes all the while wondering if your definition of job-well-done is different than theirs? If you want your back splash grouts to be in straight lines and admire the beauty of the glass titles shimmering through, then forget about it! They left a mess that required heavy duty scrubbing, dust sucking, massive clean up all the while staring that crooked grout lines all over the walls. Boy, your expectation is completely deflated when what you are seeing is NOT what it looks like on Industrial Blvd showroom few weeks earlier. If you want all the cabinets leveled after they installed them, then forget about it! Even their backsplash guys complained about their cabinet/counter top guys installed crooked! All the while you are wondering how come they don't shim the cabinet boxes so they can be all leveled, right? I am sure my floor is level because the all cabinets were leveled before they ripped them out. If your expectation is to have them complete your dream kitchen and pay them when the job is done, then you in for a surprise; it's all piece meal work/payment because the front office person that you talk to, is NOT the project manager who will overseeing the entire project, you will be their project manager person whether you like it or not. Cabinet guy show up, work on it, and will demand their money when he's done, countertop and the back splash guy will do exactly the same thing. So if you love to break out the check book multiple times, or run back and forth to the bank for additional cash then FGY is definitely for you! Did I mention creeping expenses? We just moved into our new home and we are very happy with how the remodeled kitchen came out. The cabinets and engineered stone counters were from FGY and were very reasonably priced for the quality. Our order was fairly large as we added an island and a whole new wall of cabinets on the other side of the room with pantries and upper/lower cabinets with glass doors and wine racks. My contractor, who works for a high end construction company, thought the box construction of the cabinets was very good considering these are not custom made cabinetry. Let's be honest, I have done my share of kitchen remodels for 20+ years in rental properties, so cheap Chinese cabinetry I am quite familiar with. So, I was leery as to how the look would come out since I wanted to use materials that are appropriate for my home that is in the 1.5M to 2M market. Would my kitchen scream "Chinese cabinets used here!"? I have to say, a resounding NO!!! We went with the white raised panel cabinets for the nice detail (tired with the shaker look) and paired it with black counters and the kitchen is quite stunning with just the led lights in the glass door cabinets and under cabinets on at night. Robert assisted us from start to finish and he was very patient and helpful. We made many alterations over the course of a few months and he was very understanding. Thanks Robert!!!! I would certainly recommend that you check out FGY for your cabinets and counters before any of the other frankly Chinese supply shops around the Bay (Sincere is way too expensive). I won't knock FGY for it but I would say their cabinet handles/knob selection is limited in my opinion. So I found FGY on Craigslist. They had some great looking countertops and really good prices. We call and ask if they deliver/install in Fairfield. I understand its a distance, but I'm willing to pay a fee for the distance, since it's still cheaper than most places local to me. So they say on the phone they will come to Fairfield. We go into the store to price out the exact specs and such and verify they will travel to Fairfield. Two weeks later we come in to pay and schedule. Now they say Fairfield is too far. They will drive 50 miles, but not 60 miles. I even offered to pay extra on top of the extra charge for the 10 miles. They still refused. So in the end they wasted three hours of my time and $15 bucks in toll and fuel. If they would have just said the first or second time they wouldn't do it, fine. I would have saved time and money if they would have been up front about it. Now I'm stuck trying to find a local place QUICK as I need them this week. Had they been honest I could have already found a local place. Now I'm scrambling to find somewhere here. Screw you FGY. You owe me $15 bucks and three hours of time. read more

O.k. I read a lot of negative reviews about FGY, but my experience with FGY was a perfect as long as you fully understand their cost of material (in stock) and labor cost for demolition and installation. Clean up is inclusive when they leave the job. I didn't purchase any cabinets, so I didn't have any issues like some other reviewers had. When my wife and I stepped into the store, we were greeted by a very knowledge and friendly person name Jenny. Boy, does she know her stuff. She presented us with general information about the various counter top material and left us to decide and choose. No sale pressure at all. To our surprise, we had spend over an hour looking at their vast array of granite samples and deciding the cost of the material we can afford along with the material, demolition and installation cost. Be sure to do the numbers! Be sure to understand every line items, because that is exactly what you will be paying when the project end. You must provide them measurements of how much material you need. Having photos will help too. The two man crew arrived on time and performed a superb job and finished with a clean area. They even washed down my driveway from all the dust cutting the granite. By near end of the job a lady from FGY arrived to see the installation and see if we had any concerns. She took a few photos with our permission after she asked. Then, Jenny called a few days later to inquire about everything is to our satisfaction. I had mentioned to her a smaller than a thumb size chip on the edge face of the rounded bull nose and she dispatch the installer the very next day to fix the problem. Jenny called again to see if the chip had been taken care and it met to our satisfaction. She also ask if I had any questions about the care of the granite or concerns with their services to pass on to the staff and crew. FYI, I did not purchase their stainless sink and faucet, but instead got over to Ace Hardware, for a little more money, purchase a 16 gage sink and Delta faucet. It is important to have these fixtures on hand prior to them coming to install the counter tops. I would recommend FGY Stone and Cabinet Co. to my friends and family. They are not out to cheat the customers. We are happy granite counter top owners thanks to FGY. I didn't give a five star rating, because I didn't get the granite for free. My wife and I went to go look at tile and they are so rude. They have no sense of customer service, the lady working there was staring at us the whole time as we walked through their showroom like we were going to steal something. She was very unprofessional, if she was polite and respectful we would have done business with them but too bad, I'll take my business elsewhere. I don't recommend doing business with this company. People like this shouldn't even be in business, I think they forgot a key business concept, "customer service". Don't forget you work with the general public. Jessica helped us here; she was awesome. We remodeled our kitchen for about 12k and it looks great. I will post pictures soon! As other reviewers have said, FGY does not do any plumbing, electrical or construction. I hired someone to do those extras. They tell you this right up front - why are some reviewers so surprised at the obvious? It was a great deal and I am glad I went with FGY. My white quartz counter and quartz backsplash with espresso cabinets look fabulous. They even let me space out the remodel to give time for my electrician to do his job after the demo. The (awesome) husband hooked up the dishwasher, faucet and garbage disposal the day after they finished. This was the easiest company to work with so far (and im renovating everything in the house) - so that says a lot. read more

We walked around waiting for the three people there helping customers to be finished. When two had finished we waited at the front desk for them to take any note of us at all. But they did not. We clearly were waiting for them but they avoided looking at us and completely ignored us. We waited for about twenty minutes of just standing right up against the counter, tapping the counter, just plain obvious to anyone else BUT THEM that we were waiting patiently. Then this Indian man comes in and the lady at the desk immediately asks if he needs help. I'm not sure if it is because we're white and that's why we were ignored or what? 3.5 stars is about right. The prices here are very reasonable. Their communication skills are a bit limited, and they can be impatient since they tend to have a single product, approach, solution to any issue that you might bring up. If you need it to be just perfect, this probably isn't the place for you since your options will be limited, and you might get frustrated with miscommunications. But you probably wouldn't have come here anyway. I had a good experience, and I was pretty happy with the results. There are a lot of similar kitchen places in the bay area. Pricing is a bit better in other places I look (Granite Expo in Oakland), but some of those places won't come out for an initial measurement. I was satisfied with the service I received in the store, and I really enjoyed the installers. While I was initially worried that they would be impatient, I was impressed with the true craftsmen nature of these carpenters, despite the fact these are OEM cabinets. Overall, I would recommend them, if you can keep your expectations in line with what you are buying, and how much you are paying. read more

The employees being able to speak more than one language actually benefitted my family because while I could speak English, I knew nothing about how I wanted our family kitchen to turn out. Luckily because the salespeople there can speak Chinese as well as English, they were able to communicate effectively with both me and my parents, accommodating their needs and tailoring the kitchen to their liking. As a first-generation Asian American who doesn't struggle with speaking english on a daily basis, it's always calming to see my parents able to effectively express what they want and how they want it, especially when it came to matters of the home aka it's nice to see my parents in the zone. Overall, it's pleasant to watch my mom cook in a remodeled kitchen every night. We ultimately ended up with the blue pearl for our countertop (i wanted black galaxy, but once again, she who does not pay, does not have a choice) and something yellow, sparkly and shiny on our floors. It's actually a good choice to go with granite for our kitchen floors because we own three dogs and if you're a dog owner, you should expect that as properly trained as they are, there will always be slip-ups. It's definitely less of a hassle to clean their messes on granite floors because the stench is easier to get rid of and the mess too, something my parents are happy for (there's your dog-owner tip of the day). We also had all our bathrooms done, so every night I feel fancy in my own bathroom. I can understand that a lot of customers get thrown off by employees whose first languages are Chinese, but I can't grapple the surprise these reviews talk about. There are Chinese characters literally plastered on the outside of the store, so I don't understand the shock in finding out that the store would have some employees whose grasp of english could potentially be limited. I can't speak for others but so long as it seems that you're ultimately on the same page with the salesperson for what you envision on your kitchen, then you're good. If it seems you'd like the luxury of a remodeled kitchen on a very reasonable budget, there's bound to be some advantages and disadvantages of making that choice. read more

Update: They agreed to take it back and mailed me the refund check! Other then the following issue everything else looks perfect. I brought kitchen kabinets and granite counter top with them. Cabinets quality not that good, below the expectations. Cabinet doors are not closing 100%, many are not aligned. When they took order from us and told we need 5 stones of granite, we told many times its more but he didn't agreed. When work done we had full stone left and they are not taking it back! They are good marketing guys. They will sell you extra stuff and when you will come to return will told you they don't have return policy, really? Poor customer care and very unfriendly staff. Bought my kitchen countertop and sink here. I asked if they could come and look at the kitchen to measure and make sure everything is fine (I already had someone demo the old counter and he did a great job, and charged HALF of what FGY would've charged me) but they said no we can't do that, we'll just look at everything the day of. I was hesitant but I paid for everything because I read some great reviews and the ladies up front were nice. So they come a week later to install and the first thing the guy says is we can't install, one of your counters is not leveled. WHAT THE FFFF. He said give me $300 cash and I'll do it for you (extremely shady, just pocketed the cash for himself), if not, the company will charge you a lot more... I said I'd just reschedule so I can have a friend fix the counter for me and he replied you can't or else you get charged for rescheduling. Then I said then screw it I won't do it with you guys, don't bring the materials, give me a refund and I'll go somewhere else. NO REFUNDS! Shouldn't leveling one piece of cabinet be included in the labor fees I pay anyways?! It's not like it was a humongous kitchen, it was like a 2 foot counter. Jesus. And on top of all of that, they scratched the shit out of my wooden floor and said it was already there before. NO IT F'N WASN'T YOU SOB. Worst business transaction I have had.
