I came in here to install their flat back earrings into my irritated piercings and had a great experience! It's quite pricey, but I feel much better and have a solid plan to keep my ears and piercings in good shape. This place is a whole overpriced scam. The girl at the desk wanted to charge me almost $900 for 2 "diamond" studs, probably not even a 1/10 of a carat. I take part of the blame, because I should've walked out. $500 later the girl at the desk oversold these "garnets" in 14kt gold, still about a 1/10 of a carat maybe less. I'm thinking the whole earring was 14kt gold, including the post, NO. I found out today when I finally took out the earrings that the post was regular stainless steel. The MOST I should've paid for both was maybe $250 and that's being generous. Never again! read more

I think it's cool that there are special events hosted here. They're holding a New Moon event for piercings, jewelry installation, and tarot. While I didn't sign up for a tarot reading, I did book an installation appointment. After seeing the emails showcasing their newest new moon collection, I really wanted to get something. I had a tragus piercing that fell out a month ago while running, so I was looking into getting a replacement anyway. I wanted to get their muse for my nostril and a crescent moon... though not the best idea because the crescent moon would be really big on the tragus. Perry (who's super friendly and easy to talk to!) walked me through the considerations, which I appreciate! Instead, I did a flower for my tragus-- which I love. He had to stretch the hole a bit, but it didn't hurt at all! The muse was perfect for my nostril because there's a slight curve, which sits nicely on the curvature of my nose! Got lots of compliments on it :) prior to installing the nostril, he looked at how long the post was (which it definitely was), and was able to get me a shorter one that gives me more space. (Backstory: Before he did that, the last place that pierced my nostril gave me a super long one that sometimes caught onto my septum piercing that's flipped up for work.. yikes). read more

This review is for the service, not the products. I stopped by on a weekend afternoon with my friend. The store was busy, so we looked around and waited patiently for someone to be free to help us so I could inquire about a piece of jewelry. We waited for 10 minutes to be helped; during that time, another couple walked inside the store after us. They were helped before us, which struck us as odd, before realizing that this couple that walked in after us was white, as was everyone else in the store, except for us (we are both Asian). We waited longer for another associate to be free to help us (another 5-8 minutes), before simply cutting our losses and leaving. I'm not saying the store associates intentionally helped all the white customers in the store before attending to us, but it was weird that we walked in first but weren't even acknowledged, whereas the other couple was and helped quickly. I'm aware that this store is on Fillmore street, in the predominantly white neighborhood of Pacific Heights, so I left the store feeling unsurprised. We weren't dressed sloppily, nor were our appearances unkempt, so I'm not sure why we weren't helped. I'm a bit disappointed since I was a fan of the boutique in the Mission. read more

I haven't gotten any piercings since I had my lobes pierced as a toddler, and this shop was the right decision for my second lobe piercing. I made an appointment online, which was very simple. My piercing was scheduled for today with Perry, and I had a great experience. Perry welcomed me warmly and showed me various stud options. He was super knowledgeable and listened closely to what I like and wanted. I felt zero pressure to do something I didn't like. Once I selected the pair I liked, Perry went to get everything ready and sterilized. I looked around the shop and it's a really cute shop. They have lots of beautiful jewelry and they're conveniently located on Fillmore. I told Perry I hadn't been pierced since I was a child and was nervous. He reassured me about the process and was very gentle and calm. I felt comfortable and safe throughout. The piercing itself was quick and felt like a little pinch--not bad at all. Afterwards, Perry walked me through after care and told me to reach out if I had any questions or concerns. I love my new piercing and earrings, and am so happy I came to this shop for them. First thing you should know is that this place is EXTREMELY expensive and we had no idea of that we went there (obviously our fault) Anyways, then we still went through with our appointment which was great but the real problems only started after. Paying around 800 dollars for two extremely small jewels we expected amazing value but in the first few weeks the JEWEL BROKE OFF WHILE I WAS WALKING! This is outrageous because of the price and when we went to go get it fixed because they promised us that we could- they wanted to charge us for it even though their bad quality was the reason it fell off. Extremely frustrating for that amount of money. 1/10 terrible and all my friends agree. read more

This is the first time doing a Yelp review and I'm doing so because this place is special. I had a great experience getting my piercing. It is a classy upscale space, with lots of beautiful jewelry. It was a splurge for me but I wanted to get my nose pierced for a while and I chose Fiat Lux for it's ambiance--a upscale place, that specializes in jewelry and piercings not tattoos. The decor is airy, clean and light. Perry, my piercer was excellent, very professional and an expert -the piercing was painless and the placement perfect. Be prepared to spend $ here as their nose piercing service is $40 but the cheapest piece started around $165-$170 for a 2mm diamond stud. Perry explained the aftercare and I was given a saline spray and will go back for a 6 week followup. Overall I couldn't be more pleased with my piercing. Highly recommended! read more

I got pierced by Perry who was so kind and explained everything for me as they were doing it The place is super clean, from the front room to the piercing rooms. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Also the vibe was super unique. I have previously gone to other parlors (not in California) that were dark/also tattoo parlors, but here the room I was in was sky blue and so calming. I'm more of a "Hello Kitty and pastels" kinda girl and prefer this to the typical grunge/punk, and there was a large selection of earrings that were dainty and cute, so much more than I've seen anywhere else. I loved my experiences with Fiat Lux. I've only ever shopped at this Fillmore location (but plan on visiting their Mission location in the future) and I've been helped by both Rebecca (store manager) and Kristina (piercer). I'd been following their Instagram for some time now and their pieces are beautiful. One ring in particular stood out to me and just *spoke* to me so after thinking about it for weeks, I just knew I had to have it! I called the store, connected with Rebecca and she invited me in to check and try out the piece. When I arrived, she was awesome to work with, took time with me to try on and take measurements and was just an overall joy to work with. The second time I went in (yesterday) was to get pierced by Kristina O. I made an appt. a few weeks ago to add 3 piercings to complete my earscape (for now, heh). Kristina was an absolute gem to work with; she was very patient with me as we discussed location options (pros/cons), pieces, prices and calming my nerves during the process. I never felt scared to ask questions. I've previously felt rushed by other piercers (different shops) and felt like I had to just go with what they say but my interaction with Kristina was the complete opposite: She listened, she was transparent about pricing to ensure I was comfortable (and made recommendations based on my price-point comfort) and she never once rushed me as I was noodling over options. TLDR - way way way expensive and limited for basic piercings. I went here because it's in my neighborhood and they have online bookings which is nice. I guess they have multiple locations and they told me today this is their "luxury location." I just wanted a second piercing on my ear lobes. The most frustrating part is pricing. The price is based on the cost of the jewelry (each earring is individually priced) + $25 to pierce each ear. No prices are listed, so I had to ask for each item, then do the math in my head x2 + $50. However - a majority of the earrings they did not have more than one available! So if you want a matching pair, either leave your contact and they'll let you know when they can order another, or go somewhere else (their advice). Blows my mind that they have a brick and mortar and only available single earring in the showcase. No plain studs, the least expensive are lightning bolts, and the majority are diamond solitaires (very overpriced for 1/10 ct). Can't remove the studs for 3 months so I didn't want to be stuck with silly bolts. Service was lovely, professional and sterile. Just so frustrating because I chose studs I don't like just because I was tired of asking about each one and if there are two and what the cost would be. Booked this a week ago and have travel coming up, so today was my only open day and other places didn't have availability for today. Expect to pay +$600 to get your ears pierced. Wish they were transparent about their pricing because -- 1) I wouldn't have gone here. I even called ahead and asked questions about the process and they mentioned the piercing fee not the range of cost for the jewelry. (I expected max $200.) 2) I felt screwed because of timing -- I didn't have other options unless I waited 6 months or so. read more
