This is a lie. At no moment were the people in the business understanding and offering me a re piercing for free not to mention the jewelry at no cost. Of course, piercers are not robots but you would expect that after paying 119 dollars you get the service you go to a "licensed" piercer for. And i keep up what i said Rhys did in fact say it makes sense that the woman who botched me dosen't work there anymore and i have the person who came in with me that day to repeat what i am saying. Thankfully i will not be needing anything from this place as i got repierced in the haight with actual professionals they did an amazing job and i had such a good experience and they left my piercing beautiful and healing nicely. Oh! And they also mentioned that in fact the nose piercing you guys did on my right side is completely botched and is the reason why in 2 years it never healed. We had an appt. at 1:40pm we arrived on time and we could see they were backed up but they told us we were next. We picked our $130 earlobe piercing for our son. We waited patiently for an hour. Then when we were about to go in they said someone else was going to be ahead of us. No apology for the time we spent no explanation offered. I could not let my son see us give our money to a place they treated us so poorly. Not good communicators at all. Communication was only good when they were telling people the hundreds they would be spending. With so many options in SF, I cannot recommend this place. Note: I reached out to the business before the review and they didn't. respond. UPDATE: they responded apologized and offered a discount for jewelry.I hope they improve communication during the experience to avoid these types of reviews. read more

I want to update the previous review after seeing the response from the business owner - I went to another piercer who closed this seam ring without issue and without physically hurting me and causing trauma to the piercing site, and recently to another one to remove the ring similarly without issue. Professional, sober piercers do not have trouble with these pieces of jewelry. It looks like the piercer who looked at the septum ring I took a photo of (crooked, open) and said "ok yeah this looks good" after swearing at it and causing trauma to the site (5+ insertion attempts) doesn't work at this location anymore. I encourage you to look at the photo and the response yourself and decide if this is a place you want to frequent - where the public response is essentially "this is actually the fault of your anatomy" and "no one else has had issues with this person" and "cursing is just different personalities and we love that :)" read more

This review is long overdue! The staff are always so friendly and on top of their stuff. I went in for a re-pierce of my dermal and two lip piercings 2 months ago and then today went in for two ear piercings and replace some jewelry. This boutique setting is always soooo clean and sterile and the staff ensures the cleanliness of the process. This is the only place I go to get pierced because every time it is always amazing service, fun conversations and clean! When my piercings didn't go to plan and needed to be removed they were more than happy to help, sanitize the jewelry and hold it until I came back in. Y'all are top notch. Max did both of my ears and his technique is actually incredible- it's done in such an atraumatic way that healing was a total breeze with proper care - not the case with some of my other piercings... This place isn't cheap but you're paying for the quality of the service and the beauty of the jewelry. If you're wondering if there's a difference between getting your piercings done at a professional studio like this one vs like Claire's- let me tell you from experience that the two are incomparable. Great spot in the castro to book an appointment for piercing. The staff is incredibly helpful and kind, and it's easy to tell they manage a very clean facility. Only complaint is they are a little pricey, but I take comfort in that knowing they take great care of their facility as well as their people. I'm so disappointed at this shop. I went out of town and decided to get my nipples pierced. 2 months in the piercings are healing just fine. Unfortunately yesterday while showering the ball that holds the barbell fell off. I came in to this shop as I've gotten all my ear pierced here by Tori. I went in looking to just get the ball that holds the barbell in place. Max said that he would be able to help me I had him take a look at piercing and he said he can replace it. Upon removing the barbell he mentions that it was a 16g and that's too thin for a nipple piercing. He said that I would need a 14g. I was naive in not asking what that meant and I thought that it was just going to be a smaller barbell. He said I would feel a brief pinch but I had no idea he was going to repierce me with a thicker needle (14g). My piercing was still healing all I needed was the ball to hold the barbell into place. After contacting my sister & friends to get their opinion they suggested I call the shop as they didn't understand the point of repiercing it. I called the shop and again and I was informed that it was because they don't have that specific jewelry. I'm very upset and disappointed because that should have been communicated at the moment and let me decide whether I should have sized up or try a different piercing shop to get the ball I needed. This morning the piercing is oozing pus & a keloid had developed. I'm truly disappointed as I'm now going to remove the piercing. Will not be coming back here. read more

Highly recommend getting pierced here. I've gotten quite a few piercings in my life and this is by far the best shop I've been to. Xochi did my septum and did an incredible job, you could tell there was a lot of thought and care that went into it, with a transparent dialogue of every step and every tool that was being used. I appreciated that everyone at the shop gave me a full understanding of the ins and outs of a septum piercing, realistic healing instructions, etc. and never pressured me to get it done (took 3 visits for me to finally pull the trigger). The workers seem very experienced, they have options in the jewelry pieces between lower cost and higher price, the service is added on top of which jewelry piece you pick but that's ok because they're doing the job to get your piercing done! I loved how clean the place is and they had a whole lot of inventory to make sure they're piercing your spots correctly. You pay for the quality and service of what you want or getting. I went to get pierced at Ten Tigers a few weeks ago by a guest piercer named Marilyn Mena. I experienced a bunch of transportation issues, and I was going to be late, and the shop (Tori and Marilyn) were incredibly understanding. I got my flat pierced with a beautiful star stud, and I got a few new hoops for my already pierced conch and second hole. A few days later I noticed my star stud was missing. I was so upset. I called Ten Tigers and spoke to Max, the manager, and he was so kind, and we worked out that I could get a replacement. I have never experienced such excellent service from a piercing shop!
