They took the time to walk me through what was happening and also recommended that if the swelling and fluid filled bump behind my ear didn't settle down, to go get it drained (which I did and it's been great since). I wish I had gotten my piercing done here originally. Their pricing is reasonable and knowledge far deeper than other places I'm aware of. The after care service is insane and I recommend this place 10/10!

Steve was extremely thorough. He explained everything before it happened, let you know when it was about to happen and was very explanatory in the aftercare, possible adjustments that may be needed in the future, etc. Steve was very, very personable as well. My wife and I will both go back again to have another piercing done. We have both asked Steve to take care of us in the future. Awesome experience. The shop is also very clean, sterile, and extremely professional looking.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR PIERCINGS…read more i want to preface this post that jake is not apart of the association of professional piercers (app) which should be the first red flag. since there are not a lot of regulations regarding piercings, i would suggest only going to one that is apart of the app because of their commitment and dedication to safety and sanitation standards. i am honestly disappointed having to write this review since i had high expectations given the other reviews. i got two piercings and one is healing well. however, the other one is not after getting it pierced nearly a month ago. i went in to have it looked at and the interaction was very unpleasant, giving me a reason to write this review. his first comment was "do you know how long it takes to heal" after asking if he would take a look at it. he then was gaslighting me saying i wasn't cleaning it and he would give me an aftercare sheet. he THEN proceeded to back out so quickly and said i needed to go to a doctor and he's just a piercer and it's unethical to give me medical advice LOL. he did not even try to help remedy my piercing at all. anyways i went to another piercer to get a second opinion and all that was needed was the correct jewelry for my anatomy. there was no infection, it was simply irritated. jake actin like i got some disease for real. disgusted by jake's customer service and unprofessional behavior given HE WAS THE ONE WHO PIERCED IT.

They don't have any prices for their permanent bracelets so I had no idea what to expect but I knew I wanted 14k gold, and I was most interested in a Cuban chain. This could have been a case of miscommunication coupled with the fact I don't like confrontation, but when I asked about the price I swore I was told ~$250. That seemed reasonable to me, I've been looking into Cuban chains and that was the price point I was seeing for about that size in 14k. When it came to checkout the price was $2,450 for just the permanent bracelet.....I was in a rush and again, don't love confrontation, so I paid and left but I feel like I seriously over paid for this tiny light weight chain. I was planning on getting more bracelets and jewelry plus some new piercings but after this I don't know if I trust their prices. I think I may use them to find cool jewelers, but purchase elsewhere. It's my fault I didn't double check the price, I take ownership in that. I would just caution against the permanent jewelry, at least learn from my mistake and get the price in writing not just verbally. Update: wow that was a super fast response! They reached out to me after seeing my review. Thank you so much Nadia for your call. I can tell you all really care about your customers. Looking forward to coming back this weekend. Additional side notes, I really appreciate the care they put into fitting the jewelry for customers. I've also have had things shipped to me and their packaging is lovely with nice presentation. Even their shipping box feels lux. Those little details and the quick response to my post has brought me back around and I will absolutely be a repeat customer. (They only said they would pierce me when it healed from their original unprofessional piercing. Which I of course refused. I obviously don't trust this establishment so why risk myself a second time.) This business is highly unprofessional and lacks basic customer service. Save your time and money--go somewhere that actually cares about symmetry, hygiene, and accountability. Will not recommend.

I've come here for every single piercing I have and Ive been coming here even before I moved to east bay when I was in LA. One star off because of a few things. The first is a bit disappointing. The staff are generally pretty good but I think the majority of them have a a bit of a chip on their shoulder. Every single time I've visited I feel like I'm being talked down to in some regard. It's not enough for me to dissuade people from coming here but it's the kind of passive aggressive comments that are said with a smile and it unfortunately has caused some discomfort. Like I said though, they're incredible skilled and I would rather deal with a few weird comments than get pierced by sunshine and rainbows but botches my piercing. The one exception is Chris who I've gotten at least two of my piercings from and from now on will specifically request. He is very kind and knowledgeable and when I was getting my nipples pierced he was very professional. I was incredibly nervous and it was still a really painful piercing but I'm glad he was so experienced because I could imagine it being a much more painful process had he not been. He also gave me his business card following my last session and to contact him directly if there was any trouble with the healing or if I had questions. I can't recommend him enough! Wait times can also really vary but most of the time I find myself waiting long even if I have an appointment. They take walk ins but be aware that busy days can mean 40 min waits! The piercings are also pretty expensive -- it's a base price of $50 for service plus the jewelry. My nipple piercings were $260 for both which is on the pricier end. I would still recommend coming here regardless though because they use high quality jewelry and once again, the staff here are very experienced. They have a really wide variety of jewelry to pick from and have a lot of options. I actually overheard a conversation between one of the staff and another customer about how the other shops around Haight didn't have titanium and that it was better than surgical steel and the staff member corrected her that while their shop did have it, it's also misinformation that one is better than the other. Thought that was neat!

I came to Ten Tigers for second lobe piercings, knowing little about the process. The woman who helped me was extremely patient, empathetic and helpful as she explained all my options. When it came to the piercing itself - Tori made me feel at ease and ensured I was getting exactly what I wanted. A few weeks later when I accidentally hooked and pulled out my piercing while drying my hair (careful!) Tori told me to come right in and she helped me right away - no charge, no judgement. I had an amazing experience at this piercing studio! Jon was incredible -- he was so patient, warm, and helpful. Since this was my first piercing, he took the time to answer all my questions, explain everything, and help me choose the perfect jewelry. Double, the piercer, Andra was also absolutely amazing. The studio itself is rad and so fun to be in and look around, but Sasha herself is what keeps me coming back. Her advice is sincere and I know she knows her shit. If you're someone who gets nervous about piercings or just like spooky things and/or good conversation (or silence, if that's your thing), look no further. These people know what they're doing, never talk down to you, and are always helpful and accommodating.

I reached out to them and Eve responded saying they have a workshop that weekend (woohoo!) so that worked out quite well for me. As a volunteer offering to get pierced you don't need to pay for the service and are only charged for the jewelry at cost price ($10). They use implant grade SS or titanium jewelry from reputed brands like Neometal. The session takes longer than a trip to a piercing studio as the instructor and trainee are talking through the process of the piercing and setting up piercing equipment. As someone who has a lot of piercings already, I loved the environment and learned a lot from them and other trainees. My trainee piercer, Naomi and the instructor (didn't get her name sadly) were super friendly and warm, walked me through the steps, gave me a heads up as they pierced me and thoroughly explained the aftercare. I felt very safe as this is a very reputed foundation in the body modification space and has well-qualified and certified instructors working with the trainees on every step to ensure hygiene and safety! Loved this experience and wish I had discovered Fakir Piercing sooner. Tips to be a volunteer: Email the team at fakir@fakir.org and ask to be put on the mailing list for volunteers as they have about 6 workshops per year. You will need to submit proof of vaccination and ID prior to coming in.

Came here to volunteer to be pierced at their Basic Piercing Workshop, and I left very happy with a…read moregreat new forward helix piercing :) I actually was the very first person that my piercer has ever done, so she was super super nervous; good thing I've been pierced so many times and didn't feel nervous. During the whole process, the instrument watched very closely to each step and they really made sure everything is ultra clean. They gave me a steralized/autoclaved hair clip, wiped my ear with alcohol a few times followed by iodine, and cut out a gauze pad to put around my ear. Very few of my piercers did that much for me. On to the actual piercing. Like I said, my student piercer has never actually pierced anyone for real before. From what it felt like and what they were saying, I think she started poking me at one part, and decided to move a little bit to the side, so she made me bleed there. And once she figured out where to actually pierce, she did it really slow so I, for the first time, heard the sounds of cartilage being pierced through. It was not pleasant. It sounded like someone slowly stabbing a knife through thick cardboard. It was crazy haha, and painful of course, especially as she was putting the bead in the captive bead ring. That helix piercing ended up the most painful piercing I've ever gotten and its only the helix, but its her first time and I really think she did great!

The piercer did not check my anatomy at all before marking and did not show me the marking before piercing me. They did not have a private room to do this piercing, and another artist was sitting a few feet away, drawing up tattoos. The gauge they used was far too small, and the jewelry was too curved. They told me I was good to go without giving me any information on how to clean this piercing, so I asked, and the piercer recommended I use Dial soap. This is terrible for PH, and healing, and is not industry standard. They did not place any sort of cover over the table either on which I laid to get the piercing. They also forgot to give me my ID back. PLEASE do not go to this place. They are unprofessional and have very questionable hygiene practices. Also, they're gonna overcharge you for terrible service!
