I've had a great experience with Fidelity. My high school employer used Fidelity and my boss at the time helped me set up a little 401k. I was young and no clue how to navigate 401k or retirement accounts. I was lucky enough to get started at the age of 16. Sure it was not much what I was putting in but my employer was contributing dollar for dollar up to 5%. I left that company and never touched the money. Now that I have one foot in the grave I reached out to them to discuss my money. I was assigned a great gentleman named Richard. Yes, they charge a fee. But I don't mind as long as I'm making money. Richard was very patient and took the time to answer all my questions. I ended up adding a little more money to my account and I've seen a good return I believe it's right around 10%. I have not been into the actual location but I have turned my family over to Fidelity. Prior to Fidelity I reached out to Fisher investments and they turned me down because I had "too little money". Fidelity has never made me feel bad about how much or how little I'm able to add to my portfolio. Additionally they offer a regular account with a much higher interest rate than your regular bank. This branch is a nightmare, having working with fidelity for over 15 years I have never encountered staff that act this way, it could be management or just this branch in general but at this location we were paired up with Michaela who we asked to help us with multiple transactions. Our issues began whens She failed to keep our room private and would walk out in the middle of a private conversation with wealth management and leave the door open. When asking her about specific questions about trading in the app and other financial advice She was unable to answer basic questions about certain accounts, couldn't figure out how to help us navigate the app, and rather than go and ask another staff member for assistance she would just tell us to do it ourselves. (What is the point of coming to the branch if we can't have you assist us and having us do all the transactions ourselves?) while these were somewhat small issues, it made communication with her incredibly difficult because we were aware that she wasn't as knowledgeable as she needed to be and that isn't fair to us) Half way through the appointment I asked the front desk for a supervisor number so I could call and speak to them, twenty minutes later we finish our meeting and I return to the desk and there isno number, we wait in the lobby and while we are standing there, Michaela comes out of her desk and in front of every client in the main lobby asked loudly "if I had a problem with her". The Front desk failed to de-escalate their staff member and when I asked for a number they kept saying wait, I then asked one more staff member for a simple number to speak with someone privately and while I kept being told I would receive the number, it never came. Do not work with Michaela from this branch, she is confrontational, unqualified for her position and doesn't respect Client's privacy. read more

Unfortunately they hire people at this branch who are very arrogant and inexperienced. Last year I was accused of forging a check that was made out to me from an account holder at that branch. No one checks they just made the accusation. Recently I was given a less than enthusiastic reception when I brought my step father to open a trust bank account for his retirement. The two young men asked us to come back in the morning and stand in line. I said can we make an appointment as my pop is 88. They said no. I guess two white guys aren't with any respect. read more

I actually live near Sunnyvale/ Santa Clara, and there is a Fidelity Investments branch in Sunnyvale about 2 miles away from my work, The ratings were extremely low about 2 stars and Campbell Fidelity Investments have about near 5 Star rating. When I first walked in the Campbell Fidelity Branch I was immediately greeted. They told me the wait time would be short. Looks like they have plenty of staff that works here. I called 3 weeks ago to make an appointment to go over my investments and multiple 401k accounts. The person I needed to make a appointment with was "in a meeting" and would call me back to schedule. Never called back. I gave them my information and they looked up my account and also asked how much I had in my 401k accounts, maybe it wasn't enough for them to want to take the time with me. On the other hand, I just called the Los Gatos location and they made me an appointment for the following week and it took 2 minutes to schedule. read more

I usually visit the Mountain View branch, with very professional and experienced staff that can help you and fix any problems, but my experience today in the Campbell office was definitely not Fidelity standard, very unprofessional. When I entered I explained my request to get help with a wire transfer form and a signature guarantee and according to the receptionist it is a 10-15min wait. Needless to say that after 30mjn I still had no help, only a staff member explained that he can not help with forms and that they have to find the right person. Since this meant I had to wait even longer I decided to leave. The treatment and the lack of experienced staff was not what I expected, so I can only suggest to visit another branch, like several other reviewers suggested. read more

At this point I am kind of sad that 50% of my retirement is in very low interest Annuity than has another year and half to go. I am 67. Great customer service at this Campbell location. There is easy parking and the staff are really friendly here. They accept walk ins to meet with financial advisers etc. I typically call ahead to see if the wait is long for walk in appointments and I had no problem getting my questions answered. I spent 45 minutes on hold and never got through to a person. It is shameful what has happened to Fidelity.

I have been trying to transfer my 401K from Fidelity to Vanguard for the last 2 months and Fidelity is not co-operating. Vanguard requests for more information from Fidelity and Fidelity neither wants to understand nor cooperate with us. Already talked to 10+ representatives and they are giving conflicting information. It is ridiculous that we don't like a service but we can not get out it. I regret my decision working with Fidelity. read more

Unfortunately, the quality of service in the past few years has declined to a point where where we are considering moving our accounts elsewhere. Part of the decline may have to do with Fidelity overall (unacceptable telephone waits, lack of transparency, and surprise fees) Part of it is specific to this location, at least the individuals we have been dealing with for the past few years. The misinformation and the failure to answer simple questions that would previously have been answered accurately and completely by our previous rep don't impress us, nor do the repeated attempts to sell us products we don't need. read more

I've been to this branch a few times and the people here are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. It is just off of highway 17 and is easily accessible. You do not need to go into downtown SJ if you need personal assistance with your account. My work stock purchase plan and 401k is held with Fidelity. I pass by here often and never really see the parking lot full. Based on that, you should be able to get a parking spot easily and not wait in very much of a line when you get in. They have web based on-line trading that has comparable commissions to etrade and Ameritrade. Ameritrade did purchase the 'Think or Swim' platform last year, so they have an advantage when it comes to trading in my option. It is a platform that displays real time trading in stocks and options. From what I've heard, they will be integrating futures sometime this year. read more

After starting my new job, I've begun visiting the Campbell branch, since it's about 5 minutes from work and I can stop by on those days that I'm lucky enough to be released early. The front reps are friendly enough, though sometimes they seem a little understaffed and it usually takes me 10 minutes to get in and out (instead of 5). In contrast to the downtown PA branch, I like the private parking lot for customers, which beats cruising around looking for a spot. read more

Customer service at Fidelity, at this location and through any customer support access point, is exceptional. I was helped within 5 minutes and asked twice while waiting for my receipt if I needed any assistance by two other employees. I was in and out of their office in less than 7 minutes both times I have been there so far. Parking is plentiful and the proximity to highway 17 makes getting in and out of here very easy. They were under construction when I went last time and I still had no issues with accessibility. My only issue is they don't accept cash deposits otherwise I would have given them 5 stars. read more

I am very happy with my investments and quite frankly it's not because of any help I've received at the Hamilton branch. Since 2014, I've seen a high turnover in the Client Private group. I'm working on my 4th financial planner in as many years. It's such a waste of time and energy to become familiar with someone and then have them leave in a year. This branch doesn't even give you an update on who your new rep is, and they keep the old one's name on the website. Instead of wasting massive amounts of time improving your website, please do more on providing incentive for your workers to stay. I should start by saying I've had my IRA/401K with Fidelity since they began in the 1990s, generally they have provided efficient service & profitable advice. I was personally making deposits to my 401K there to boost it prior to retirement when I needed some more & better investment advice. I made appointments & met with several of their financial advisers in the smaller private offices in the back on two separate occasions simply seeking specific investments for dividend income. They say they make no commissions but I'm dubious, both times when they learned I had a Wells Fargo PMA acct. with other investments they tried to solicit me to move 100% of it to them. Neither time did I do that, continuing to deposit into my IRAs, & now I have developed some trust issues with them. I never received the advice about those specific investments I had listed for them in writing. Note that Wells Fargo's financial planners tried to persuade me to do exactly the same when learned of my separate Fidelity accts. so I think all these financial advisers operate like used car salesmen. read more

My company transferred our Deferred Comp to Fidelity from ICMA-RC. The website is very difficult to navigate, just spent 15 minutes on hold trying to get help and finally gave up as they don't hire enough people to staff their help lines. Every single task has been difficult including managing my investments. I have been doing my own investment management for 30 years with no problem and some success until we switched to Fidelity. I want to be able to do my business on line and not have to run down to their office for each change or spend hours on hold. Fidelity, fix your darn website, make it user friendly. Clearly you want to sell your management services so you make the site not user friendly. Update: 12/13. Tried again today. Got through to someone who said he couldn't help me and transferred to another person. Have been on hold now for 25 minutes. Fidelity, your customer service sucks. read more

They refuse to accept the power of attorney that my sister and I were granted by our mother. She put it in place in 2008, now in 2017 she is no longer of sound mind and lacks capacity to handle her finances. It is a "springing" POA, and we obtained the two capacity letters from physicians and completed an affidavit. The POA lists myself and one of my sisters as Co-Attorneys in Fact. Fidelty's legal department refuses to accept it because their forms only accommodate for 1 power of attorney, not two. They even suggested having Mom complete a new form and getting it notarized..... this from their legal department after knowing that Mom is not of sound mind and cannot legally enter into any agreements. Their next suggestion was for one of us to resign as the power of attorney to satisfy their requirements with no regard for the wishes my mom put in place. They also suggest we spend more money on lawyers to change it to their satisfaction as well. The document we have is completely legal and they refuse to accept it. So therefore we cannot make Mom's "required minimum distribution" that is required by the IRS annually. Every year she will be penalized because they will not allow our legal document to be used as it is intended. The account balance is only approx $15K and we intended to leave it in there but just need to satisfy the IRS requirement, which they refuse to comply with. Without the power of attorney, they also refuse to update the address, therefore soon all the documents will be mailed to a house my mom doesn't own anymore. read more

Coming up to my 1 year anniversary of moving my investments to Fidelity. I am still very pleased with my decision to come to this office. Whenever I have an issue, my assigned Financial Consultant has always helped me resolve it completely to my satisfaction. I know the local office gets busy so I often use the 800 Customer Service number, usually late at night when question crosses my mind so I don't forget and they are always available, friendly and helpful. It's a good feeling to find a broker who you feel you can trust and are happy with. I feel my Financial Consultant understands me and my needs and treats me in harmony with that. read more

I signed up for Fidelity Credit card because of their advertisements of fantastic savings and getting 2% back. The card is very hard to use and to fund and there is only online assistant where you can type in your questions. This has nothing to do with anyone at Campbell location..,I think it is corporate problem. How much time does it take to learn to use this card and read all the screens of instruction in answers online assistant provides. I transferred money from my BofA account to Fidelity money account to pay off the credit card. Money is in Fidelity money account, but it is not available to pay credit card until 3 more days. In meantime businesses I bought items from using fidelity card want me to pay with another credit card ( something that they can get funds from...like my BofA credit card ) or I will be charged with a lot of fees and my credit may be affected. Be careful using Fidelity card. July 10, 2018. I did eventually get in touch with someone at Elan Financial Services, and they told me exactly how to fill in Payee fields so Payee would be recognized. It is working better for me now. read more

Very unprofessional, and I decided to take my business elsewhere because of him. Fidelity needs to step it up and hire better people. This branch has the worst possible customer service. Their front desk doesn't even know if SSN is 9-digit or 10-digit number! A simple check deposit takes 10 minutes waiting to get the most primitive 3x6in receipt! Don't use this branch, they don't appreciate your business. read more

I went in here to transfer an account of a deceased individual. We had all the appropriate paper work. What a mess. They kept insisting we had to open an account; they could not pay out the funds, but first had to transfer it to an account in our name. What a bunch of .......... California law provides specific guidence on how the account is required to be paid. They kept telling me that this was required by the Internal Revenue Service. I am an experienced CPA and know the tax law. They are not accurate. While Fidelity looks great in the TV ads, in practice it took me two visits of over four hours total, and then they charged me a fee of $50 for each account they insisted I open - to close. Four stars for the greeter and person that set up my appt with an advisor. One star for the advisor who couldn't tell me how to take advantage of the services that they offered at Fidelity. I am seriously looking how to take my assets out of Fidelity and to place them elsewhere. Unless you're already an active trader and can "bring additional assets in" Fidelity advisors have no interest in working with you. If you want to understand why they are recommending a particular fund, they don't want you to use critical thinking. I said, "I get that there are managed funds for which Fidelity will earn a percentage and I get that this is not a place that really helps the client learn about how best to manage their portfolio -- so how do I take advantage of the services through people like yourself and why would it not be okay to try to understand the recommendations?" All this advisor could do, for 15 minutes, was tell what he didn't want to do. Really terrible customer service. They're just conduits for making funds for Fidelity. To me this means they like two types of clients - those that are already self sufficient and have the time to actively manage their portfolio on a daily basis or those who will hand over their assets to be managed. If you're someone that likes to ask questions and be intelligent about your decisions, don't go to Fidelity. Fidelity is behind the times when what matters today is access to services and how it benefits the client. It will loose the younger generation with this attitude. They have lost my trust as a client. read more
