Tonight I was denied a $4K purchase DESPITE: - holding a 5 figure $ balance - providing all answers to security questions, e.g., date of birth, last 4 of SS#, mother's maiden name and amount of last purchase- $50 at Lucky - an excellent credit rating . This is the branch I prefer over all other local TCU options. I've never had a bad experience over the decade+ I've been frequenting, the team here is kind, helpful, and accommodating. I called to apply for an auto loan for an expensive sport vehicle model year 2014. Representative did not tell me they don't do loans for 7 years or older vehicles. They ran hard inquiry on my credit history, got a rejection, then tell told me it's "my responsibility" to read their website and know their auto loan criteria. I can not believe such bad businesses still exist, such a disappointment... so, I called my friend who referred suggested this credit union to me, and made sure he never ever recommends this place to any one. read more

2 stars overall...5 for Nathan, 0 for Tech CU. TechCU "updated" their webpage a few months ago, which caused quite a number of issues across my many accounts. Nathan stuck with it and has corrected all the observable issues. If any more issues appear, I am sure he will get them resolved. I am still considering moving all my banking elsewhere, to be honest...why: The webpage "update" was poorly executed. My multiple accounts each had different owners, with different online access User IDs for each, however the "update" grouped them all under the "most recently updated" SINGLE user ID (which belonged to my ex...thus she ended up having access to ALL accounts instead of access to only the formerly shared account...while I had none). I am fortunate to have caught this before significant damage was done, she could have cleaned me out. Absolutely unacceptable to me that this "update" did not preserve access to each account to be just as it was before the "update". Shame on TechCU for such a bungled effort. read more

As always, their customer service was beyond compare. Nicole helped us accomplish everything we came in for and much more. We had some questions on different account types and she provided us the information and sent us on our way with documents providing the information as well. She was friendly, attentive and courteous. I have remained a loyal customer for so long because of the customer service Tech CU provides, as well as an easy to use App, ATMs, etc. One person in particular needs to be called out and that is Bob Tran. I walked into Tech Cu on Bascom, Ms. Mercede Maxwell was very professional and pleasant in her interaction with me. She took her time was attentive, supportive, and very kind. I am sorry to say but you cannot get a worse company. The people are nice who work there but the actual service is terrible. Good luck getting a ATM card sent to you. Then good luck getting the PIN. Then good luck activating the card after the second one has to be sent out weeks later. Good luck finding an actual in person branch without driving all over the place to get get your $$. Plan to spend 1/2 your day there trying to access your account. Oh yeah and good luck using the "tech" on the website to merely set up a branch appointment- that doesn't work either lol read more

Kudos to Ms Sonia Aldaz, for her patience and assistance in resolving a thorny ATM PIN disfunction and restoring access to two separate savings accounts. Some relatives were denied access to their accounts and three different branch offices in the San Jose area couldn't fix the problem that spanned across 72 hours. It was Ms Aldaz who painstakingly worked through the issue even engaging the third party security firm multiple times. Even after 3 subsequent access failures after the PINs were reset, and the proper processing time elapsed, she still stayed on the problem ultimately issuing new ATM cards (in minutes, not days!) and purging the corrupted data. Huge thanks go to her for her tenacious problem solving skills and world-class customer service. Mahalo for reading my review. read more

I urge anyone seeking a loan to cover a solar installation to use a different source. I have been waiting for a month for Technology CU to process the paperwork to remove the lien on my house so I can refinance my mortgage. Everything else has been ready to move forward for over three (3) weeks. Tech CU has been dragging their feet and until they do their job I can't close on this refinance. To date this delay has cost me over $1,000 in interest and since we are starting a month, that number is only going to increase. I can only conclude that they want to get as much interest as they can before getting the loan paid off. read more

They deal with the now-in-bankruptcy PowerHome Solar/Pink Energy. They do the bait-and-switch interest rates, and apparently either hide details in fine print or rely on people that are unwilling to read their own contract so that they can increase your interest rate after a certain period. They have no email addresses with which to have a save-able conversation. Their conflict resolution folks are non-responsive. They farm out their dirty work to third parties. They just flat-out SUCK as a financial institution and are associated with ripoff/scam artists. Do NOT do business with Tech CU! EDIT: Regarding the payment deferral plan...they WANT you to do that! Know why? Because if you don't pay off 26% of the loan by a certain date, your APR increases SIGNIFICANTLY. Still think they're above-board? read more
