Tumble 22 did NOT skip out on the portions, cause tell me why 8-piece chicken nuggets nearly obliterate me. Service was also friendly and quick! The orders came with a slice of bread that was placed under the chicken; overall, the chicken was prepared well & the quality was evident! I wish the bread had been provided separately, because after a while, the chicken made it soggy, so it deterred me from eating it. They had a unique "Korean" version of their chicken, marinated in spicy Gochujang sauce, and I ordered the Honey Mustard as my dip. While it was delicious, it was a bit salty, so next time I come, I wouldn't get the Korean version. They also had unique Szechuan fries that I'd love to try!

It's a bit difficult to get in and out of the parking lot onto the street. The menu is very simple and fast food esque; chicken sandwiches, tenders, and fries / sides. The sandwich was fairly good sized and comes with one side. The chicken itself was a bit bland; the cole slaw out of everything was well seasoned and had good flavor. The fries are the typical frozen shoe string fries. Service is okay; again, this spot borders on a fast food restaurant so it's quite simple service. Overall, it's okay; the chicken isn't spectacular but it's a step above Canes or Laynes in some ways but flavor wise also missing something special.

It still was borderline of being too much salt in the oxtail dish but it was tolerable. I ordered the chicken and waffles dish. It came with eggs (I added cheese) and grits. The chicken was seasoned and cooked well. I liked the flavor of the wings but was unhappy about having hairs to still pluck out of the wings. The waffle was an average waffle. The heat being trapped inside the to-go container made the powdered sugar turn into hard crystals. I wish they would have put the sugar in the side. Not too bad for a late night food craving.

It's worth making the trip now, not later. The menu is exceptionally well-curated, hitting that sweet spot of what Houston does best. comfort, creativity, and just enough flair to keep things interesting. The space matches the vibe: modern and minimalist with a subtle Chip-and-Joanna-Gaines touch. The drink menu is just as thoughtful. Even the well spirits are solid. We kicked things off with the deviled eggs topped with maple pork belly, easily some of the creamiest I've ever had. Do not split an order. Everyone at the table should get their own. For the entrée, I went with the Sunday enchiladas made with Killen's famous brisket. Smoke, salt, pepper and exactly what you want from a dish like this. It typically comes with Mexican rice and refried beans, but the rice was running behind during my visit, so I swapped in scrambled eggs (it was brunch) no complaints. They were simple buttery, creamy and just damn delicious. peach bread pudding that was downright decadent. Easily one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. Make you wanna slap yo momma.

Ugh, it pains me to update this review on their last week of service at this location, but it was…read moresuch a lackluster experience. This is my first updated review on Yelp and not for the better. Since it was closing, my close friends and I wanted to go back one last time, especially for the peach bread pudding. One of our friends in the group hasn't been here before but was excited and to celebrate her birthday later since we were all out of town last weekend. This is going to close next Sunday and turn in to a gas station, which we literally don't need in this corner location of Heights Blvd and Washington Ave. I made a reservation while I was in Boston just in case. Our friend had called 2 weeks ago, and they told her there wasn't anything open because they were closed Sundays. They're not closed Sundays according to their hours of operation online. Weird. Everything started fine. Our server checked on us regularly. She couldn't answer any questions about the menu. She said she was new and didn't know it. Why would you hire a server who doesn't know the menu on the last week of service? That doesn't make sense. She repeatedly said that the whole time like how people say they couldn't do something because they were short staffed. The chicken fried chicken and chicken pot pie were solid. That was the entrees we chose, and some of us ordered a chicken pot pie to go. Apparently, we ordered the last few ones. Interesting because they just opened at 11 am, and we ordered to go right after the deviled egg appetizers, 15 minutes from opening. She tried to close out our tickets without asking about dessert. We had to tell her we weren't finished and wanted to order dessert. When it got to the dessert, we wanted the peach bread pudding and Texas sheet cake. They didn't have the cake, so we said ice cream. We thought it would pair well with the bread pudding. Then she said she doesn't know the ice cream flavors since she's new. So, she checked and came back to tell us there was no ice cream. Who knows if there were other desserts at this point. So, we said just the peach bread pudding. We got it, and when she placed it on the table, it didn't really have the tres leches sauce and absolutely NO PEACHES. Mind you, I've been here 4 times before and recommend this dessert to everyone. One of the most memorable peach bread puddings in Houston. Today just shattered that image. When the server asked if everything was ok, I said the dessert was missing the peaches. We hadn't even started eating it. She said she'd ask the kitchen. Nothing happened. We cut into the bread pudding thinking there might be some sliced peaches baked within, and the edge of the container was hot, but then one of our friends said the bread pudding itself was cold. It was cold. I remember it being warm with brulee'd peaches on top. The table next to us also ordered the same dessert, and they had peaches on top. Disappointing. She said the kitchen could make us some peaches. We said no. It's too late. The texture was gluttonous without the sauce and peaches. At the end of our meal, we all agreed it was a let down. Now we need a redemption brunch. Maybe it's for the best they're closing this Heights location.

Want to start by saying I loved the atmosphere. Loved being able to sit at a bar, loved the music, and service was superb. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Catfish was pretty good. It had the perfect crunch and a plentiful portion so no complaints. Sides were good but not something I'd rave about. The étouffée was pretty solid but the Brussels could've been better. Maybe seasoning them a little more, cutting them in halves, and charring them would've done the job. Peach cobbler was so yummy. I loveeeee how they have offer for preferences with the peach cobbler (more crust, more filling, or neutral) because I personally love more crust. Kool aid was good but could stand to be just a tad bit less sweet with more flavor. All in all if you have a catfish craving and want good vibes and service I'd 1000% endorse this spot.

I got the catfish plate with red beans, dirty rice and an extra side of greens. The fish was great. Big pieces, well seasoned, fried perfectly - 9/10. the dirty rice was don well too - 7/10. The red beans were ok, nothing special, but not bad either - 6/10. The GREEENS tho.... 1/10. NOPE - never again. While waiting for my food, a lady already seated and eating starting having an episode from being overheated. It just wasn't a great experience and the food wasn't worth another try for me.

The fried green tomatoes were a small portion but the way they battered and garnished it elevated the flavor. I really enjoyed the chicken & waffle that came with a sweet potato waffle which I feel like every restaurant needs to include on their menu! It was soft and fluffy and balanced out the savoriness of the chicken. The chicken itself was so juicy and tender, perfectly fried. The croissant French toast was incredible - so buttery and crispy. When I got home, however, discovered that it was over egg noodles this time. No worries though. We come for the cream sauce and the large potion sizes, not the carb that's included, right?! Also, they offer a new tea made in house with Pineapple and Peach. To die for. It is sweet but not aggressively so. The inside has about 3 booths and counter seating now. The location is on the end cap of a strip where Level One Fitness is, across the street from Young Women's College Preparatory Academy. The service is always stellar and personable. The owner is a couple. The wife usually takes the orders but on this day, there was a vendor assisting with the new cashless payment and menu system. There isn't a lot of parking so you'll have to park around the corner, on the street, in front of the church across the street. If you're lucky, you might be able to snag one of the few spots right in front of the door but that'll depend on if there is a group fitness class going on at the gym.
