When I came in one of their local book clubs was running - it was so fun to listen in on the conversations and community. During this visit I found a great graduation gift and one of the booksellers helped connect me to some upcoming events related to some recent reads and interests I shared. They have an expansive section for spanish speakers and the large used books shelf highlights their commitment to bringing books to members of the community. I was delighted I ended up spending more time in the store than I planned to. This is a great spot if you're looking for a book, a gift for a book lover or want to get involved in your community!

The staff is very friendly and more than willing to assist. During the short time that we visited, I saw a walking tour explaining the history of the bookstore/area and a few people discussing the topic of the day. I enjoyed perusing old editions of Life magazine and enjoyed the plenty of seating that was available. If you're ever in Ossining, don't hesitate to stop into Hudson Valley Books. I'm sure, that you'll find something worth purchasing.

If you frequent this business, you already know what's in here from the children's area to the 'cafe' area and all in between. There is a nice Harry Potter area for fans to enjoy and the children's area is stocked well. I didn't have any employee interactions, which was fine as I didn't need assistance as I was just browsing. Prices are what they are. Located in the Cortlandt Town Center, they have their own parking area (though you can walk from any area in the Center), so you don't need to deal with the madness or some of the bad drivers in the main lot. Say what you will about Barnes & Noble - and I've said it myself - the business is not perfect and has its flaws, but it's still nice to have a place where you can hold a book and browse books the way you want to in the world of digital phasing out some physical forms of media (which I'm not a fan of - whether books or movies). They buy and sell used books and this place has A LOT: books (they also have rare/signed books on the floor and behind the regster), vinyls, and pictures. The front of the store has a more organized setup that label the shelves of what genre and the back of the store is where they keep their clearance items. I liked that they have staff picks descriptions or personal takeaways written on small note cards on the shelves and lots of places to sit around the store, especially in the back. I also noticed a sign on the wall saying you can rent out the clearance room in the back for events which is neat.
