Picked up a quick bite to eat here. I went during peak lunch time and, to my surprise, there was hardly a line. I got my food to-go and ate with a friend at Bryant Park! I ordered the Good Bowl, and it was tasty! The food wasn't heavy and the ingredients were fresh. However, given that their portions are on the smaller side, this place is relatively expensive in my opinion. I was only half full by the time I finished my bowl. Overall, a good option if you're in a hurry and want to grab something quick and easy. The wait time is short compared to other places in the area (i.e. Cava, Dig Inn, etc.). Taste so good! It's a cool little joint with affordable prices! I walked in there craving a salad, and it definitely exceeded my expectations! Will definitely be back! Business Hat on: If I was the owner I would raise the prices another 5-7% on the salads ( the product I tried). My willingness to pay is higher for a quality salad and most clients coming in would definitely be healthy food lovers. I would also decrease operating cost by substituting the plastic ware with a cheaper band - these are high quality and look it but most people don't care much. Also for the plateware I would make the same recommendation. Reduce the content by serving by 15%. I have a huge appetite... and I couldn't finish my salad. People are coming in to eat healthy - small portions are ok :) I see a lot of ways to reduce cost per product while increasing price slightly - the delta could definitely make an impact of total revenue and profit down the road! read more

Loved the look of the place. Food was good, not great. And service was terrible. Walked in at 7:30 pm with no one in line. Took about 5 minutes before any of the four employees acknowledged me. Another 5 to order. With a few hours left, they were already out of white meat and very few people were present. Seemed to be more to go orders by Seamless delivery people than eat in at this hour. Chick was good. Juicy, tender and flavorful. Barbecue dipping sauce was vinegary. The best item was the side Mexican corn off the cob. It was a cold side with lettuce, cotilla cheese and raw corn. Chicken is one of the dicier propositions when it comes to eating out. More often than not a chicken will look great from across the room, but as soon as you sink your fork into it you discover you have purchased a dry, chewy mess of culinary sadness. Not so with Fields Good Chicken. This branch recently opened up (by recent I mean in the past year) near my job so I thought I'd check it out. The store front is currently hidden under scaffolding so I had not really looked inside until I went in. The restaurant has a really beautiful interior. It is bright and warm all at the same time. The ceiling is very high (for a Manhattan restaurant) and the seating is spread out in a comfortable fashion. There are ordering stations towards the front, but I did not use them since it was evening. I trust they come in handy during lunch. I tried the roast chicken with their beet salad and roast corn salad. You get to choose a dipping sauce with your chicken so I went for the very interesting turmeric yogurt sauce. Taking a deep breath, I dove my for into the chicken and much to my delight it was absolutely tender and moist. Even better? On its own it was well seasoned and flavorful. Dipped in the yogurt sauce? It was heavenly! The sides were also very impressive. The beet salad had a wonderful sweetness to it. The roast corn was very addicting. It was sweet and savory at the same time with a good crunch. Overall I had a fantastic meal there. I almost gave this place five stars, but I'm going to take one off for value. While the meal I had skirted the edge of "It's Manhattan" and "That's a bit much", I went back a few days later to get an order to go and the size of the sides is anemic at best. I barely got two serving spoonfuls of the roast corn and they didn't even fill the container (which was tiny to begin with). I feel like they gave me more of this when I ate in. What an awesome new lunch spot! I found this place around the corner and I was pleasantly surprised as it was empty at the time. I did go early, but can imagine the place gets packed. When you walk in, you order off the screen, the staff is very helpful in guiding you what to get. They give you a buzzer, you then go up front to pay and then you wait, but only for a minute. Worth checking out, it's like a better version of chipotle. Super impressed with this fast casual spot. A friend had recommended it for a while and I finally gave it a shot last week - might be my favorite lunch spot in midtown for a quick bite. The line can seem intimidating when you walk in but it moves fast and your food will be out in no time - trust me. This operation is efficient. On my first trip I got a chicken plate with herb chicken, quinoa, Brussel sprouts with blue cheese and walnuts, sweet potatoes with spinach, and the spicy mango sauce on the side (gave the chicken some extra zest!). Everything was absolutely delicious. This is probably my favorite thing I've ordered. Unfortunately I think some sides are seasonal which, while that means they are fresh, means favorites won't last long. My second trip I tried the bueno bowl with chicken, brown rice, beans, guacamole, and salsa along with a chipotle sauce on to. Another delicious decision. Appropriately sized portions too. They offer boneless chicken and on the bone - sure to please all chicken lovers palettes. This is definitely my new go to midtown lunch spot - cannot recommend highly enough! Now, I think I know what I want, but these two are holding the menu like it's in Mandarin. Thus begins a clinic in patience, service, and shining goodwill from Diana behind the counter, who answered every question (a lot) and then!! comes up with samples and recommendations for the indecisive. She sold it so well I even changed my order because man, she made us believe. And then the second gesture of brilliant service- since it was quiet she even walked out order out to us. Not that we were kept waiting - they're fast back there! But very good at what they do. This chicken was TASTY. She had talked me into the chicken bowl and man, that roasted chicken absolutely hit the spot. Delicious potatoes, broccoli, and brown rice rounded out a complete meal for a great price. (Also, the maple chipotle was an awesome recommendation!) Now my mom and aunt got salads, so the attention I paid was limited because to my mind that's rabbit food. But they seemed very happy with it - and in fairness it looked more substantial than usual wilted nonsense I see offered. Despite the simplicity, chicken is cooked with great flavor - herb grilled chicken is my favorite. For sides, my pick is Mexican corn off the cob - I get it EVERY SINGLE TIME. The corn is very juicy and crunchy and the Mexican spices makes it very refreshing. Everything is very simple in the bowl but it is so satisfying and refreshing as well as balanced and healthy. I don't feel drowsy at all after eating the food. The portion is fairly big and definitely filling. It is also worth mentioning that the operations are surprisingly efficient - unlike other places where lines pile up during peak lunch hours. Fields Good Chicken always manages to get the crowd coming and going. Different from other places, you order, pay and get food at different server, which prolongs the process on one hand, but on the other, it divides the line into three sections, which avoids crowd congestion. Not only was the cashier genuinely friendly and patient, the order was processed in record time. I wanted to add on a couple of the "additional" cost items, and asked if I could pay the difference, but the manager just told the cashier to comp the add ons as part of the free meal. It's rare to find this kind of service and friendliness nowadays, so Fields Good Chicken has earned a lifelong customer in me now. Great food, quick service, friendly employees, what else could you ask for? Whenever I'm in the area, I grab a custom bowl from here and while pricey, I end up splitting it into two meals, and I'm well satisfied. The few times I attempted to finish my bowl, I ended up on the verge of a food coma. Rather than wait in line, I always order online for pickup. I always get the same thing: custom bowl with brown rice and mojo chicken, topped with hardboiled egg, marinated kale & butternut squash, pumpkin seeds, pomegranates, mexican corn and avocado. The crunch of the pumpkin seeds and pomagranates, and the smoothness of the avocado blend with the deliciously seasoned chicken. This is my super filling, pretending to be healthy meal option. I went last week and decided that it's going to my lunch rotation. I had the bueno bowl. It's didn't seem much at a glance but believe it was more than enough recovery food after a gym class. If you like spicy, you're in luck since they carry a few options you can add on. Flavor is on point. The chicken is mightily juicy, as if it is all dark meat. My only issue is that the rice is a little too mushy for my liking. But I prefer that than undercooked brown rice. Perhaps next time I'll try one of the salad bowls. read more

The daily struggle trying to find new and healthy lunch options in Midtown is real. If Mercury poisoning wasn't a thing I'd be eating sushi everyday, but lucky enough I don't have to succumb to such measures because I've finally discovered Fields Good Chicken! For lunch I had "Christina's Kale salad" and my oh my... the first bite, and every bite thereafter, bursted with flavor! Everyone knows grilled chicken tends to be dry and mundane, but their herb grilled chicken was surprisingly juicy. The salad was dressed with just the right amount of vinaigrette to lettuce ratio, and you get a generous amount of protein. All the ingredients meshed well and portion size was perfect. There were 2 factors that knocked off one star from otherwise a good first visit to Fields Good Chicken. Initially, my coworkers and I were set on ordering their bowls which include either brown rice or quinoa. Today they were out of both. Not sure how a restaurant runs out of grains when it's half their menu, but hey, s&@! happens. Secondly, I ordered two bowls on one tab and they only gave me one. The restaurant is super packed during lunch hour, and to have to swim through the crowd of people to claim my missing bowl wasn't a fun experience. I landed in Manhattan for the start of a vacation / work trip and I was looking for something near my hotel that was open Saturday evening (went to a weekday lunch only place first, oops) and safe for my wife to eat at with her need to avoid gluten. We found this Fields place and decided to give to a go. There were four of us, and the place was totally empty except for us. The menu called out the fact that only their miso bowl had gluten - the chicken, sides and sauces were all gluten free. Excellent! We picked a variety of mains and sides, and everyone was really happy with the food. I went for the shredded barbecue chicken with a kale salad and Brussels sprouts sides, all very tasty. I long for the days when I can walk back in for the magical kale and broccoli caesar salad and anything I have ever ordered there has been fantastic, quick and tastes like REAL FOOD. (Which it is. You see the magical looking roasted chicken quarters coming out of the oven regularly.) You can build your own or go with a perfected suggested concoction. This is a great choice for someone looking for low carb, whether your lunch partner is on the same wavelength or not! I've brought many a colleague here and it has yet to disappoint. Admittedly no one is perfect, and I've had an order mixup, but the staff was quick and polite to fix. I ORDERED FROM THIIS PLACE LAST NIGHT AND I DEFINITELY GOT FOOD POISONING!!!!!! I ordered the half chicken with a side of Brussels sprouts & mac n cheese (which wasn't too tasty) & got an extreme case of diarrhea. I even fed some of it to my dog and he had diarrhea as well which is so upsetting. I've never had food poisoning in my entire life, this would be the first time. I ordered from here through Uber eats and they refunded me actually because I reported this case to them. Be careful when eating from here!! The food here is great but delivery has consistently been meh. Always 30-45 min late for a 12PM delivery, which makes us not want to order here as much. Besides the delivery hiccup, everything at this place is quite tasty. This is one of my weekly lunch stops. Food is always well prepared and friendly staff knows my order.

I'm not too chicken to say this: I field pretty good about this place! We got here at prime weekday lunch hour, so the line had snaked around the interior of the restaurant. Luckily, the line moved super quickly and after we ordered from the lady and the ipad at the front of the line, our food appeared super quickly as well. I really enjoyed the Summer Bowl (with Mojo Chicken and amazing barley) and tried (and also enjoyed) the Mo'Miso Bowl (with Herb Grilled Chicken and sushi roll-esque ingredients). I liked the Mojo Chicken better since it's dark meat, but the Herb Grilled Chicken isn't bad for breast meat (usually inedible for me, unless it's so breaded and deep-fried that it's barely chicken). The main issue I have here is the portions...and I have a pretty tiny appetite! It's $10-11 per bowl, plus tax, so the measly number of chopped cucumber pieces in my bowl was almost offensive. But I definitely did field good (how many times can I do that before it gets annoying? one more time? no?) after my lunch here as compared to the numerous greasy midtown lunch places available. I'd still go back to try the roast chicken though, since the sides all sound delicious, but it looked like most people eating in the restaurant stuck with the preset bowls. read more

Only thing I liked is that they have a cool app for placing the order and that its ready within 5minutes for pickup. And that's about it. I ordered Christina's Kale salad (chicken, kale, quinoa, avocado, pickled onions, sesame veggies, tamari ginger vinaigrette) and with 4 additional sides and opted for charred jalapeno dressing instead of tamari ginger. I didn't get a single side or the dressing I asked for. They just did the salad as quoted on their menu and that's it. Also I couldn't find any trace of avocado in there which is part of the salad. All I could see is lots of kale and quinoa with chicken and few hard to spot veggies ! May be they cld hv done it right, if I had walked in there and ordered instead of an online order. Always looking for a lunch spot in Midtown. Usually, I go to Between the Bread or Roast. Now I can add Fields Good Chicken to my list! It's a bit further than I would like but it's worth it. The line goes by fast so don't be alarmed. You place your order, then wait a couple minutes to pay, and then wait a couple of minutes for your buzzer to buzz. You also get to try samples of their sides and they provide ice water. I tried Christina's Kale and the Summer Bowl- one with herb chicken and one with the mojo chicken. If I had to pick, I would go with the Summer Bowl with grilled mojo chicken (you can substitute chickens). Christina's Kale is definitely more healthy (bland). For a reasonable price, fulfilling and healthy lunch, come here for sure. I'll be back to try their pulled bbq chicken. read more
