I order flowers and cookies for Mothers Day and my mother LOVED them. She won't stop talking about how they are the "best smelling and most beautiful flowers". They were also priced extremely well and were delivered locally on time. I also placed a last minute order for my mother in Columbus, OH and Fieldwork quickly contacted me to say that UPS was very backed up and would not be able to deliver the flowers by Mother's Day and they didn't want them to sit in a hot warehouse all weekend. They offered to ship them on the following Monday instead. I ended up canceling the order and they were quick to refund the money. I love that they care about the quality and timeliness of their flowers more than just taking my money. I give Fieldwork 5 very large stars!!! read more

First, something is going on with Fieldwork and they're splitting the biz into two. This location will focus primarily on plants while a new shop will focus on cut flowers. Once I know more I'll update the listings. In the meantime, I just want to say that I love this plant shop in the back lot of Rejuvenation! It's not a huge space, but they manage to have a nice variety of houseplants that would fit most any size space. Now, I don't know much at all about houseplants so I can't really pass along that info to whomever reads this review. But that doesn't matter because the employees at Fieldwork know their stuff! They have always been able to help me figure out what kind of plants would work best based on things like space, light, and ease of care. They help me find things that will look good with the plants that I already have, so that my slowly growing indoor jungle is as cool as possible. And they'll even help me repot the plants and give instructions on how to care for it. They're turning my thumb from black to green. OK, maybe brown, but that's better than black. Shopping at Fieldwork has always been a pleasant experience. I'm eager to return and I look forward to checking out their new location, too! read more

I can't even begin to describe how thrilled I am with my experience with Fieldwork! So thrilled, in fact, that this is my very first yelp review. Oh wow! My wedding was last week on 8.18.18. I met with Megan a few times in-person and exchanged multiple emails with her as we honed in on the floral vision for the big day. Brainstorming together was something I always looked forward to as Megan is so creative and funny. She doesn't offer a cookie-cutter version of wedding flowers but rather, something that's super cool/interesting/slightly zany but still gorgeous and breathtaking. I knew I wanted florals that felt really special and unique, which is why I chose Fieldwork. We planned a private ceremony in the gorge in the morning, followed by a reception in the evening. Morgan delivered the bouquets, boutonnières, and corsages to my home in the morning so we didn't have to stress about picking them up. That was really helpful! Did I cry a little after seeing my bouquet? Definitely. Could I not stop smiling and squealing when I saw their transformation of our reception space? Of course. They took a basic room and transformed it into the most magical and romantic space. The photos could never do it justice! And that wall installation!!! Epic. I got SO MANY compliments about the bouquets and reception florals from our family, friends, and even the event coordinator who has overseen tons of weddings in that space. Everyone was blown away. In summary, my wedding florals were super current, definitely not boring, and amazingly beautiful + fresh! After doing my homework, I can also say that Fieldwork is affordable and these gals will definitely work with your budget, be it teeny tiny or huge. I went into my wedding planning knowing I didn't really identify as a "bride" so I sought out small businesses for my wedding that I knew would get my vibe. The ladies at Fieldwork bring a modern spin to the wedding flower game and will blow your mind with the end result. Update - I followed up once more on my order on Sat July 6th and did receive an appropriate response from Megan, confirming the order has been delivered to the intended address, with a description of the recipient (receptionist at OHSU). She shared the delay in responding was due to the team being away on summer break. She also offered to assist in tracking it down, which was appreciated but not necessary. Unfortunately, I was not able to track down the order and I suspect it might have found made its way to another clinic. To be clear, that's entirely OHSU staff's fault. Fieldworks' role ended with the delivery -- which was on time. As a result of my initial review here, Megan followed up today 7/22 with a gracious note. My only remaining feedback at this point is for Fieldwork to consider implementing, at minimum, an email auto-responder and a voicemail message alerting customers when they are inaccessible or away for an extended number of days. When businesses are not operational, they communicate that to customers so they don't simply feel ignored. I do feel strongly that I should be able to follow-up on an order I placed mere minutes ago more easily. If not through direct human interaction, then via the website. read more

I never cared for flowers...until I met Annie and Megan! My fiancé and I needed a florist for our wedding, but was on a budget since we already spent so much on the venue, catering, and entertainment. When we met Annie she was full of energy and passionate about flowers. She totally understood our budget and educated us on how flower costs vary due to the season and where they are sourced and gave us suggestions based on our wedding date and what's grown locally. What I really appreciated about working with Annie was her expertise on wedding floral arrangements. Traditional boutonnieres or wrist boutonnieres tied with a ballet ribbon? Contained bouquets or more loose bouquets? Re-purposing the bouquets to be used as decor or a toss bouquet? All things we would have never thought of (because unless you've been in enough weddings or know a lot about flowers how else is any of this intuitive?). She coached us through each idea kindly and made the decision process fun and easy. She was also open to us providing the flower vases ($2 a piece from IKEA!) to help stay within the provided budget and be able to give away the centerpieces at the end of the night and not worry about returning rental vases. Fast-forward weeks later, I met with Megan and Annie to go over the mock centerpieces, boutonnieres, and my bouquet. Megan is a sweetheart and a flower whisperer. The original centerpiece idea was going to cost more than expected so Megan suggested a few ideas and I ended up loving the new centerpiece idea! (see white and green centerpiece in their photos). The boutonnieres were going to include some of the same flowers from the centerpieces to tie everything together nicely. The only disappointment was I liked my mock bouquet better than the wedding day bouquet. I asked for 70% pinks and corals and there was more white flowers than expected, some reds and oranges that weren't in the mock bouquet, and a couple pieces were slightly droopy. Still received a lovely bouquet, just different than the mock and what was expected. I've grown to appreciate flowers and florists through working with Fieldwork Flowers and highly recommend them for flower needs big or small. Plus the location along SW Waterfront can make for a fun afternoon stroll with lots of eateries within walking distance! read more

I find it extremely stressful to express how utterly disappointed we are with Fieldwork. I chose Fieldwork for our wedding because the style displayed in their portfolio was creative and inline with my vision of a less structured floral theme at our small wedding. I was excited to use locally sourced flowers and work with someone that showed such unique creative potential. I went to bat with my husband on the cost of having a creative professional bring it all together. In the end, I regret making Fieldwork such an integral part of our wedding day. Not only were we shocked and disappointed, we are embarrassed by the reactions of our venue staff, friends, and family. If I could give zero stars, I would. My original review was 6,228 words. Apparently, that's too much detail for Yelp. I wish I could keep all those details to convey what a horrible job they did, how far they strayed from our contract and the aesthetic we discussed, and how they just don't care. Everything. Looked. Horrible. What was supposed to be grand, vibrant and flowing looked hacked and bare. Despite several meetings, they did things I specifically told them not to do and didn't even do 2/3rds of the arrangements we paid for. My father asked me, with a shocked face, why I had a friend do the flowers instead of hiring a professional florist. Also, they stored our bouquet and boutonnière on a table in direct sun in 101 degree heat. Pitiful. After meeting with them to discuss our dissatisfaction, I requested a partial refund for the missing arrangements and lack of flowers (for which we paid extra). Fieldwork requested photos of everything. I sent photos from the venue staff, but they wanted more. Once our pro photos came in August, I sent those. I have yet to hear back. 15 weeks after our wedding, there is no resolution. Did I mention I was a wedding photographer for 12 years? I've told my colleagues about this too. What a highly disappointing floral and customer service experience! I tried to call the store several times last week, but no one answered so I decided to just go to the shop. This is ominous foreshadowing, I know, but the online content was so appealing that I decided to give them a chance figuring maybe they were just busily making bouquets. I went to store on Friday and I ordered a $50 floral arrangement for Monday morning so that I could pick it up at my convenience. The florist (Mara, I think, but honestly I don't know since they didn't tell me) said that it would be ready around 10am. When I arrived at 2:15pm, the store was empty for about five minutes, and when the florist arrived, they told me that the arrangement wasn't made, saying something to the effect, "Well I tried to call you on the phone today at 10am to see if you were still interested in the bouquet and since you didn't call me back, I didn't know whether to proceed, but I can make you a bouquet now!" I didn't pick up my phone because I was attending classes and meetings all day, and I thought that ordering something meant, in fact, that it would be ready at the agreed-upon time. I declined the offer to have a $50 bouquet put together in five or ten minutes; and I am offended that my order was so clearly not considered a priority. Maybe they were busily making bouquets, but they certainly were not making mine. What unapologetically bad business practice. read more

What was supposed to be a thoughtful gift, was left on my porch with no notice. (Usually a florist will call and tell you it was left, or leave a tag on your door.) While this may have been a lovely bouquet, when I received it, obviously it had been tipped over and messed up. I attempted to fix it, re-cutting stems and adding water, but some of the flowers were already dead. After 2 returned messages, I finally spoke to the shop. The arrangement was delivered by a delivery service, who I would guess tipped it over and tried to push the flowers back in. The associate did ask if maybe the wind had blown it over while on the porch? I'm not sure where that came from, but also we happen to have a covered side porch where it could have been left. The associate indicated that the owner has been out with a back injury, and that is why they are not answering the phone or returning calls. They clearly was no interested in fixing the problem. I am so torn about my experience with Fieldwork, it's hard to know how many stars to give. I'll start with the good. The staff are funny and vivacious. They worked to help me find some floral options within my very meager budget and matched my vision exactly. My bridal bouquet was GORGEOUS. The garland that I got was beautiful, but not even remotely what I ordered. Here's what went wrong. The first issue is that, after some back and forth about wedding flowers I was invited to come into their store "during business hours" to talk about my wedding. I emailed them back to say I'd be in the next day, midday. Google had M-F 9-5 (or similar) business hours listed. I got childcare and took time out of my super busy weekday schedule to drive across town to go there and found a sticky note on the door saying they were there W-F 12-4 or something (this wasn't in that time). Lame, but a forgivable offense. I went ahead and ordered a bridal bouquet, a boutonniere and a floral garland from them for pickup day of. The day of my wedding my friend called to pickup and they had no idea it was my wedding day, didn't have my bouquet done and said they couldn't get it done until 3 (my ceremony was at 4 and photos were before). My friend managed to get them to get it done by 2, and it was truly beautiful. They got a garland from them and it sure wasn't even remotely what I ordered. I ordered a 6' floral garland and got a significantly larger eucalyptus garland. Fortunately it worked beautifully and had a higher cash value than what I ordered but if I were more particular about my aesthetic it would have been a big problem. So, the end result was good, their work is beautiful but unfortunately these ladies do not have it together. I would not recommend relying them on doing wedding flowers, particularly if you have extensive floral plans. read more

High end prices for low end quality. The quality of my Valentines delivery was shocking, in a bad way. My boyfriend was out of town and asked for a dozen red roses in a very nice arrangement and vase. That is not what I received. I received 8 red roses of 2 different varieties, a couple white snap dragons and a lot of filler that looked like a weeds and smelled like a skunk which overpowered the smell of the roses. Who does that? The flowers were in a smaller vase they barely fit in with no floral foam and weren't even arranged. They weren't wrapped either. Nothing about this arrangement screams the romance of "Valentines Day". 2 days after receiving them 4 of the roses, 1 snap dragon and the skunk weed started to die. They were closed Sunday and Monday so couldn't talk to anyone. If you didn't have what he requested you should of just of been honest. He payed a lot of money for these and you should respect your customers. He would of been a regular since I live in the neighborhood. read more

From the artful one of a kind arrangements to the hip hop playing in the shop to the Instagram stories they really are the best. One of my absolute favorite things about using Fieldwork's website is that all my info is saved so I can order and re-order flowers for delivery online in like, 2 minutes. I usually include a brief like "Mother's Birthday, classic/fragrant" but honestly, anything they create out of their studio is so beyond any other florist they don't need any sort of a brief at all.
