My experience with Tommy Luke was completely unsatisfactory. I called on a Saturday, asked for a "really great" $150 arrangement, and showed the representative photos on their website of the style I wanted. He assured me it would be no problem. The flowers that were delivered were extremely disappointing. They looked nothing like the pictures and were, at best, maybe a $75 arrangement. The florist never told me they had low inventory that day and couldn't make what I requested, even though he had promised he could. A few days later, they texted me for a review. I called the store to try and resolve the issue directly. A woman asked me to text a picture of the arrangement and said her manager would call me back the next day. No one called. When I followed up with a text, she was super rude, telling me not to contact her personal phone, which she was the one who gave me. I had to call the store again. I spoke to the original person who took my order, and he admitted they had been discussing it. He offered only a 20% discount and finally admitted they couldn't fulfill the order the way I wanted because of the low weekend inventory. I was extremely disappointed that I had to chase them down and that they had been discussing my complaint without bothering to call me. There was a complete failure in communication. The product was poor, the service was terrible, and I absolutely would not recommend this place. read more

Our wedding flowers were gorgeous and we had a great experience working with Kevan and Lou at Flowers Tommy Luke. The color scheme shifted a bit when the wedding party colors went from a softer pastel palette to bold and bright, and they handled the change with ease. The wedding was outdoors on an 84 degree day, and the flowers held up very well. Several friends took the table arrangements home and said they enjoyed them for up to two weeks following the wedding. Richard was amazing and so helpful. I was referred to them by the VA Portland Hospital where my cousin was scheduled for surgery. I live in Ohio, so wanted to work with a local place. I ordered the flowers the day before her surgery. Richard contacted me when they were unable to deliver because the hospital didn't have her registered. It took 3 days and a few phone calls to figure out she hyphens here name (I should have know that) AND when she would finally be moved from ICU to a room to be able to receive flowers. I was completely blown away by the amazing customer service I experienced today. I called this morning to order an arrangement for a dear friend that is at OHSU recovering from surgery. I don't know very much about flowers so the gentleman on the phone truly helped guide me through the entire process. I described the type person I was ordering for and we set a certain price point. I asked that a photo be sent to me, after the arrangement had been made, so that I could see the finished product. My daughter and I were so thrilled to see what was created. It is truly the most perfect arrangement for our friend, an artist. The arrangement is so unique. I found this place on yelp and decided to use this place because of the high reviews. I wanted to avoid Pro Flowers and other major retailers because I heard you don't normally get what u order. I called and spoke to Kevin who was very nice and helpful. I told him I wanted to send flowers to my daughter for her birthday. She has never been away and this is her first year attending college in a different state so I want it to be special. He assured me they would make it very pretty. I ordered the "Hot Pink & Yellow". I have to tell you, I'm disappointed with what she received. It was pretty but not what I ordered. So much for avoiding the large retailers and going with the local shop. I am extremely disappointed with the customer service and with the product we received. My husband ordered flowers for me as an opening night gift through a wire service, and it was fulfilled by Tommy Luke. I was delighted to find a small, cheery bouquet in my hotel room; but after I snapped a photo and sent it to my husband, he sent me a photo of the one he actually ordered, which was much larger. This was about a third of the size. Now, no bouquet is going to be identical to one you order from a photograph, but this was quite different. I called the florist and explained the problem, and was told there would be a replacement. They did not review the order with me on the phone to make sure we were on the same page or to challenge any misconceptions I might have had. They did not tell me that I would need to be present to exchange the bouquets, so when I returned to my room after being out, the delivery man had come and gone without leaving the replacement. So, I did not get the flowers my husband had intended for opening night. They certainly could have left the bouquet and arranged to pick up the other one later. I called the next morning and explained again what had happened; and said I would leave the bouquet that was being replaced at the front desk. When I returned home, I found that the replacement had been delivered, exactly the same size, with more "filler" flowers like mums, more haphazardly put together, and still looking very little like the photo from which my husband had chosen the bouquet. At this point I fired off a rather heated email and received one in return, in which the florist who prepared the second bouquet told me exactly how much my husband had spent and intimated that he thought it was cheap; reviewed the order and claimed that we had already gotten more than we paid for; chastised me for my husband not using a local florist instead of a wire service; and refused to do anything else about it. The only thing he admitted to was poor judgment in accepting orders he can't fulfill satisfactorily because apparently, they just don't make enough money off of them to make it worth their while. I understand and even sympathize with that problem, but if you've made the decision to take those orders, it's YOUR problem and should never be made the customer's. Also, the whole matter could have been easily resolved during the first call, if the representative had simply reviewed the order and politely said, "Well, ma'am, the vase is such-and-such size and with that you get X number of these stems; we didn't have daisies as pictured so we're substituting mums; and I know it doesn't look quite like the photo but I assure you that is what your husband ordered." It's Mother's Day weekend; I am sure this and every other florist in town has been absolutely swamped; and no doubt the florist was not at his best. Perhaps he was even dealing with a lot of other complaints. Still, the act of giving flowers is as much about the gesture and experience as it is the product itself. What was meant to be a sweet gesture by my husband has turned into an unpleasant experience for both of us; I'll be passing these flowers on to someone for whom they don't have such negative connotations; and I doubt my poor husband will ever dare order flowers for me again. I certainly would never purchase from, or recommend, Tommy Luke to anyone, based on the customer service I have received. read more

My Mother sent me flowers from this florist for my birthday in February. This happens all the time, the flowers get mixed up because my birthday is a few days after Valentine's Day. Without getting into detail, there was a delivery date issue. Once the problem was realized I called the shop and spoke with the representative on the phone and explained the problem. The gentleman was extremely apologetic and assured me that the replacement bouquet would be delivered on the date my Mother originally requested and he would "make something very beautiful" for my birthday. I was delighted with the pretty shop and the nice woman who said hello right away, asked me politely what my price range was and then put together, along with me, a beautiful arrangement right there on the spot and wrapped instead of adding a vase since my friend is moving and would not enjoy packing or having to get rid of a vase. I told her I wanted to keep it under $40-50 and it ended up being $30 total for a gorgeous, custom, prompt bouquet. I loved that she didn't overcharge me just because she could. I received a bouquet almost a week ago, as a birthday gift. I was struck by the bouquet - the jewel tones, and the fragrance, especially the roses and carnations, because often there's no smell at all when flowers come from florists. Lovely! I didn't expect to have them last very long; but they're still fine - a surprisingly long time to have flowers stay this fresh ... and, again, fragrant. Also, I live in an apartment building, and the person who delivered them made a real effort to make sure I got them. I recommend this florist! Very, Very disappointing ... I should have gone to the grocery store. The flowers would have been of my choosing and certainly a better value. I ordered flowers today to be sent to my parents for their wedding anniversary. I use FTD regularly and have had great luck. Sadly, today FTD used City Flowers, and my parents got a small, not very fresh, and very common arrangement for which I paid a premium. The arrangement they received was about 1/2 the size of the picture and looked nothing at all like it. I called the florist, and spoke with the owner and said I was disappointed. He patronizingly said, "This is how it works .." and proceeded to tell me that he had to take out the cost of delivery, and then he used the recipe from FTD to arrange the flowers. He told me that he couldn't give me money back (I did not even ask), and that I would have to take it up with FTD. He also said that he always recommends that people avoid the middle man and go directly to the local florist. I commented that he had a contract with FTD, did he not. He interrupted me (several times). And I told he I was unsatisfied and that I was hanging up now. I have a paid annual subscription the benefit of which is that I do not pay for delivery. (Florists have a choice of whether to fulfill orders through a wire service. I assume they have a contract - they likely have a smaller margin, but greater volume as a result of the partnership.) If Tommy does not want to provide the service that FTD advertises, perhaps he should not be in business with them. Happily, FTD discounted my order. The funny thing is that if Tommy had tried at all to make this situation better he could have me as a local customer. Instead he was snarky, lost my business, that of my friends and family, and well ...here is a not good review. read more

I had gardenias in my bouquet and they were perfectly creamy white and their scent was intoxicating. Recently picked up roses for my girlfriend and I'm pretty sure the were straight from the grocery store. They were dead within 3 days.

My family had utilized Tommy Luke's floral services for years and thus when my father passed away (20 years ago) I contacted this business to make arrangements for a monthly flower delivery to his final resting place on behalf of my brother and myself. After my mom's passing 11 years ago - she joined my dad. We then modified the monthly delivery date to the day of the month they were married. The Tommy Luke team never missed a delivery, did not charge for the additional drive time to the cemetery and as we live 3 hours away they often emailed photos of the arrangements to us. We could never adequately express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Tommy Luke's team for the compassion and care they exhibited each and every month. Flowers carry such emotion to so many and we are grateful that Tommy Luke never forgets that their customers each have a special story and treat us with such dignity and respect. read more
