This review is for both Geranium Lake and for Kim Foren, President, as our wedding coordinator -- worth every penny!!! Geranium Lake made our night more beautiful than I could've ever pictured in my mind, I get emotional just thinking about it. Our venue was a lot of old wood and brick (Irving Street Studio) so we wanted simple florals and lots of greenery. Kim and the team brought the space to life! Our Chuppah was absolutely incredible, draped elegantly in greens and flowers. Kim has such an eye for color and coverage, everything from the centerpieces to the auxiliary arrangements (gift table, dessert table, etc) were perfect! And while planning, we never felt lost along the way; Kim helped us shape our vision and timeline for the day and made sure nothing was forgotten. As the day grew closer and our stress was mounting, Kim was all over it, working out vendor coordination and venue access, and reassuring us that we were on track for a great event. And when the day finally arrived, everything was executed perfectly, no notes! I'm sure I don't even know half of what went on behind the scenes because Kim is such a seasoned professional. She also made sure we ate and even set aside a plate of our hors d'oeuvres before they were all snatched up by guest, she really took care of us as well as our event. I found Geranium Lake Flowers through Instagram-- I was traveling to the Portland area last-minute and just happened to see one of their arrangements on a blogger's Instagram stories. And WOW what a lucky coincidence it was to find this place. The owner was so kind in working with me, changing the pick-up date rather last-minute when my travel plans changed and incorporating purple in a typically pink arrangement. And the flowers themselves were absolutely gorgeous: a mix of lupine, bearded iris, roses, peonies, greenery and more all in the most artfully selected hues. The bearded irises and peonies opened up beautifully in the warmer climate of the house, and the arrangement looked amazing throughout the week. My grandma was a florist, and thanks to Geranium Lake, she had some of the most beautiful flowers at the end of her life -- a true standout from the generic online flower deliveries. I was searching for someone who could provide a few arrangements for my small wedding. I was directed to Geranium Lake Flowers by my venue. After seeing the good reviews and beautiful arrangements in their store I was excited to see what they could do for me. We told them we needed 3 long and low arrangements for the long dinner table (according to my venue they requested these types of arrangements regularly so Geranium Lake should be familiar with what we mean and I told this to them), 2 large window arrangements to be paired with floating candles, a bridal bouquet, a boutonnière, and a small vase of loose flowers to be used to decorate the cake. I was shown examples of approximate sizes for the arrangements, discussed colors and flower types and provided a few inspirational photos so they could see what I was going for. 2 days before my wedding they called and said their was a billing error and we hadn't paid for the bouquet or boutonnière. I explained that I was looking at my bill and had, in fact, been charged for those things and was planning to be in the area the next day so I could stop by and show them and make sure everything was squared away. So the next day I went down there, showed my invoice which they barely glanced at, and they said "ok, we've been having some computer issues so it must have just been a glitch or something." It was a very rushed and weird interaction. Fast forward to the day of the wedding: I'm driving to my venue and I get a call from my bakery that she can't find the loose flowers that we're supposed to be left for the cake. We call Geranium Lake and get voicemail because they're not open on the weekends. Apparently they had dropped everything off earlier than scheduled (which normally might be a good thing, but because they were so early no one was there to confirm it was correct) A while later they called back and again blamed their computer system and said "we were working from memory". Lucky for them, I just wanted to be married to the man I love and not have the day ruined over stupid flowers so we explained we'd get in touch at a later date and ended the call. But working from memory!! For someone's wedding?! I was appalled. How unprofessional. They could have easily called me and gone back over all the details again. They certainly found my number to ask for more money when they thought they hadn't charged me. They could have confirmed everything again when I was there the day before the wedding instead of hurrying me out the door. Beyond the missing flowers, the table and window arrangements were much smaller than anticipated and nothing like the inspiration photos presented. While the table arrangements were short, they were not long or lush (as described on the invoice.) My bouquet was much smaller than the example I was shown for the price point chosen and did not look anything like what I'd asked for. In fact I almost didn't carry it I disliked it so much. Pretty much the only part they got right were the colors. I asked for purples and whites and I got purples and whites. As I mentioned, the arrangements I saw in store were gorgeous and they seem to have a lot of excellent reviews here. Perhaps I was the one flop they have every once in a while. Unfortunately for me, it was my wedding day and you don't get a do-over on those. read more

I was cleaning out my wallet earlier and came across a Geranium Lake Flowers business card, so I thought I'd yelp them. I worked a two month temp job in the Bank Tower this summer and got well-acquainted with the Starbucks and yummy salad buffet on the first floor (I really wish I could remember the name of the salad place because it's cheap and really good...it's next to Geranium Lake Flowers if that helps...they have chicken teriyaki too). Anyways, one day I decided to go into Geranium to order my mom some flowers. She had been having a really rough couple of weeks, so I wanted to get something to cheer her up. I didn't have much time to go through and put together something really nice, so I talked with one of the ladies there and asked if she could put something cheerful together for my mom. She was really friendly and totally patient as she listened to me try to explain just what I was looking for. I had a somewhat limited amount of money to spend and, after talking with her a bit, I decided to pay the amount I was comfortable with and trust that she would put together something really nice. My only request: that she include some of the super-cute sunflowers they had all over the shop. Long story short: my mom bawled like a baby when she received a HUGE vase of colorful flowers at work that afternoon. I was so surprised to see how many flowers (and how large of an arrangement and vase) my small/moderate amount of money produced. Shipping was super cheap, so I know that definitely helped, but I was definitely surprised. Overall, I was pretty impressed with the place. So I am from Austin Texas and we planned our destination wedding in Portland. We had a huge wedding planned in Austin but after the unexpected passing of my sister in law in February made the last minute change to Portland. We were recommended to geranium when we booked our venue at hotel Monaco, and let me tell you they did not disappoint. This is the second year in a row that Geranium Lake did not do a good job on my Valentine order. I ordered right off the website but called to be sure we got the right flowers pictured on website. Last year, it was far more greenery than flowers which was not shown on website. They resent the flowers later so I thought, ok. Then I ordered this year (2020) and this time the wrong flowers were sent. I talked to two of the workers there and was told to send a picture ( which I did) and that Kim would get back to me that day, as she was at an event. Have not heard a word! Disappointed to say the least! To be fair to their creativity, they did a beautiful job for my daughter's wedding, and on other flowers I have ordered there.
