The aesthetic here is incredible! The palms surrounding the building are picturesque and give the place a serene feel. Being seated in the building made me feel like I was underwater. As the sun set and it became darker outside, the color changing outdoor lights came on, shining through the porthole-like round windows. It was fantastic!
To start we got a Chivas Regal 18 and the real piña colada, aka the best piña colada I've ever had. Next, we shared the crab cake and oysters with aged cheese, cilantro and serrano pepper. My partner has had a lot of oysters in his life and he said the oysters were the best he's ever had, I agreed. They were perfectly cooked and the toppings perfectly portioned. The crab cake was thick and large with a generous amount of crab. It came with a delicious green sauce and lemon wedge that complemented it very well.
Then, we had the grilled beet salad and mixed greens salads. The vinaigrette on the mixed greens salad was superb. During my first few bites of my beet salad I was underwhelmed, but then I stirred my salad from the bottom and was pleasantly surprised to find a creamy sauce underneath that elevated the flavor immensely. So in the end, we were both very satisfied with our salads.
Finally, we had the clam chowder and basil pasta for our entrees. My partner said the clam chowder was very good and very creamy. My basil pasta had a smoky flavor, which would normally turn me off, but I actually enjoyed the smokiness. The shrimp on the pasta were just the right texture and the tomato sauce was amazingly fresh.
Ricardo was our server and he was outstanding. I only wish we had tried Fiera at the beginning of our vacation and not the end! We will surely be back the next time we visit Mazatlán! read more
