    The Roman was excellent!

I was going to try the new Hawaiian place in the same parking lot, but they had a 30 minute wait once you got to the front of the line. I came here instead, and had a great meal. The place is clean, and bright. Everyone was friendly. I saw that they had birria ramen on the menu. I was thrilled! The last time I had Birria Ramen, was at the breakfast buffet at the Palms, in Vegas. That one was amazing, and I never imagined that I would see it again. How would this one stack up? They brought me my tortilla chips. They were light, crisp, and delicious, but a bit oily. I could see it on the bottom of the chip tray, and also on my fingers. The chips came with 2 different salsas, both of which were too spicy for me. I just ate the chips by themselves, and they were fine. They even offered me a refill, but I declined. The ramen came, and it was amazing!!! Just as good as I remember from Vegas. The ramen noodles were perfect, the meat was so tender, and the broth was amazing! It also came with cilantro, onions, and lime. Also on the plate were 2 small birria tacos. They were also excellent. There was a sauce for the tacos, but that was also too spicy for me. I like some spice, but only up to a point. It was so rich, I only got through the tacos, and about half of the ramen. The rest came home with me. The ramen with the 2 small tacos, soda, tax, and tip, and I was out $29. I thought that was a bit steep. I see there are other things on the menu that are at a lower price. As much as I loved the ramen, I think I would come back to try some other items on the menu. Thanks!!

    "Baja" Fish Tacos

I've given this place multiple chances, but each visit has been disappointing. I ordered Baja fish tacos online and got grilled fish instead--twice. I just took them the second time because I didn't want to argue, but the tortillas tasted old, stale and had a crunch to them which is never a good sign for a soft taco. On another visit, my mom tried the chile relleno burrito, and it was mostly rice with hardly any beans or chile relleno. For the high prices, the food quality is just not worth it.

I just can't get past the tortilla looking bland and not as good as it should be. Cheese not melted. It could be so much better. The Horchata was good at least.

Cute round restaurant with great ambiance. Very clean. Nice waiter. Attentive but not overbearing. Great meal. In our family we call this a do over!

    $10 mole chicken lunch special
    Amelia M.

Luis's Mexican Restaurant has the best lunch deals in town, and great fiesta decor! I had the chicken mole lunch special for $10, and it was just perfect: flavorful rice & beans, and a small portion of juicy, tender chicken smothered in the best mole sauce ever. I like it slightly sweet, and this was just right. They have an enormous selection of lunch specials in every imaginable combination, but I can't imagine ordering anything but the chicken mole after trying it. I read some Yelp complaints, but I did not have the same problems. Our waitress was lovely and gave us excellent service!

This is receipt form our meal for reference.

There was no one in this restaurant when we arrived. There was 2 in our party and we felt like we were inconveniencing the restaurant. Ordered 2 lunch specials one with side of beans and rice . Menu says 4.50 for 1/2 order but it was 9$ for the side of beans and rice . Ask for pico de gallo and received it but charged 3.25 for a tiny bowl . Ask for extra chips NEVER have I been charged for more chips but they did 1.35$ And NEVER have I had bell peppers in a carne asada burrito . And we were never informed of all the extra charges . We felt like they were money grabbing and charged for every little thing . I am sorry for the people in eureka if this is the best Mexican restaurant in town . Cost 48$ when I could have gotten better food at Taco Bell .

I ordered the grilled chicken taco salad, the one in the crispy tortilla shell bowl- loved it ! Delicious Homemade Mexican Food--The Perfect Post-Hike Meal!…read more We came here for dinner after a long day of hiking in the redwoods and were so glad we did, as the food was incredibly tasty and satisfying. Oaxaca Grill is a wonderful, family-run restaurant in downtown Eureka, operated by the parents, Carmen and Tony, and their daughter, Yuri. Carmen is the main chef, and you can truly taste the care she puts into making amazing homemade Mexican food. The ambiance is casual and cozy. We were traveling as two families and easily found tables on a Tuesday evening for an early dinner. The main dishes completely hit the spot: * Garlicky Soft Prawn Tacos: My wife ordered these, which were served with sautéed onions, fresh garlic, and the most amazing, flavorful mango salsa on the side. * Spicy Oaxaca Chicken Mole: I got this special dish, which featured a tender chicken breast topped with authentic, spicy Oaxacan mole. This mole is savory, rich, and incredibly flavorful, made from thirty imported Oaxacan ingredients. It came served with yummy rice and beans. * Prawn Soft Tacos: We also ordered these, and they were fantastic, paired with a crisp jicama coleslaw. * Kids' Dishes: Our children ordered from the children's plate options. My son got the chicken enchiladas, which came with fries and beans, and he absolutely loved it. My daughter had the cheese and bean burrito, which she really enjoyed as well. * Desserts: To wrap up the meal, we tried the coconut flan and the crème brûlée. Both were a sweet end to the night, and the crème brûlée in particular was absolutely amazing. Overall, it was a fantastic, comforting dining experience with wonderful hospitality. If you are in downtown Eureka, this family-run spot is highly recommended!

I'm still all about the chile relleno burrito so the last time we went I ordered one with carne asada and it was literally the burrito of my dreams. This time when we went inside I noticed a hand written sign above the cash register that said "The Raliberto" which was basically my chile relleno burrito plus carne asada, so I ordered it. I cut it in half, took a picture this time and noticed it wasn't the same, it had cheddar cheese instead of that delicious white cheese the relleno comes with, and I don't think the poblano was battered and fried, it was just a plain pepper that was stuffed with cheese- it was still very tasty just not the burrito of my dreams. I'm thinking since it was a special, they may have run out of the regular rellenos or perhaps they were cutting costs but next time I'll just stick with the regular chile relleno burrito. We also picked up an order of their other special, carne asada rolled tacos, which definitely don't need the added carne asada because guacamole is all them tasty suckers need but we snarfed it all down. I don't know when we'll be driving through again but this is a really solid spot that I'll always think of fondly.
