This used to be my go-to lunch spot for good Mexican food. I haven't eaten here in about 6 months and it has totally changed. We had five people at our table and all of us ordered different items. Every single one of them was a disappointment. The chips were stale, fish tacos were some kind of a fish stick, the tortillas tasted old, carne asada was dried out. I was going to try the new Hawaiian place in the same parking lot, but they had a 30 minute wait once you got to the front of the line. I came here instead, and had a great meal. The place is clean, and bright. Everyone was friendly. I saw that they had birria ramen on the menu. I was thrilled! The last time I had Birria Ramen, was at the breakfast buffet at the Palms, in Vegas. That one was amazing, and I never imagined that I would see it again. How would this one stack up? They brought me my tortilla chips. They were light, crisp, and delicious, but a bit oily. I could see it on the bottom of the chip tray, and also on my fingers. The chips came with 2 different salsas, both of which were too spicy for me. I just ate the chips by themselves, and they were fine. They even offered me a refill, but I declined. The ramen came, and it was amazing!!! Just as good as I remember from Vegas. The ramen noodles were perfect, the meat was so tender, and the broth was amazing! It also came with cilantro, onions, and lime. Also on the plate were 2 small birria tacos. They were also excellent. There was a sauce for the tacos, but that was also too spicy for me. I like some spice, but only up to a point. It was so rich, I only got through the tacos, and about half of the ramen. The rest came home with me. The ramen with the 2 small tacos, soda, tax, and tip, and I was out $29. I thought that was a bit steep. I see there are other things on the menu that are at a lower price. I've given this place multiple chances, but each visit has been disappointing. I ordered Baja fish tacos online and got grilled fish instead--twice. I just took them the second time because I didn't want to argue, but the tortillas tasted old, stale and had a crunch to them which is never a good sign for a soft taco. On another visit, my mom tried the chile relleno burrito, and it was mostly rice with hardly any beans or chile relleno. For the high prices, the food quality is just not worth it. read more

But lately they seem to want to charge extra for every little thing and not provide good ratios in their food. They put a lot of rice even when you ask for light rice,very light beans and hardly any steak, and we pay at least 35 to 40 bucks for a couple burritos each time. And of course if you need sauce your gonna pay for the sauce and the container it comes in, plus the container will barely be filled. I get paying for the sauce but you shouldn't be charging again for the container and then barly filling it up. For me that feels very greedy,cheap and rude. Your already minimizing the crap out of the burritos do you really have e to be minimal on everything at the prices your charging. A few years back, I would have given Luis's a three star rating. The food has always been good, but the service and accuracy of the orders was a bit iffy. No more. I'm giving them 5 stars today. The last meal I had there was very good. The order was precise. Everything was exactly what we asked for. The price was right on target. It was fun picking up the order at the drive-in window. Finally, the servings were large and the food was very tasty. I'm definitely going to Luis's more often. PS: It was a phone order. Ordering online was less than stellar, as their website doesn't function as intended. I would knock a star off just for that, but the food was so good I don't care about the website. Just call it in! I enjoyed having lunch here. The rice and beans were not over salted. They were very generous with the cheese in the enchiladas. I was thoroughly surprised by the amount the bill was. I had the chicken mole lunch special for $10, and it was just perfect: flavorful rice & beans, and a small portion of juicy, tender chicken smothered in the best mole sauce ever. I like it slightly sweet, and this was just right. They have an enormous selection of lunch specials in every imaginable combination, but I can't imagine ordering anything but the chicken mole after trying it. Menu says 4.50 for 1/2 order but it was 9$ for the side of beans and rice . Ask for pico de gallo and received it but charged 3.25 for a tiny bowl . Ask for extra chips NEVER have I been charged for more chips but they did 1.35$ And NEVER have I had bell peppers in a carne asada burrito . And we were never informed of all the extra charges . First of all the drive-thru needs managing/management. If the person in front just ordered food there, and there are two people behind him in line who ordered on the phone or online, tell the customer in front to go and park somewhere until such time that his food is ready so that those of us who have food waiting on us can get it. It's common sense. But no, I was in the line for a few minutes, my burrito is inside waiting for me, probably wondering where I am because I was supposed to pick her up 10 minutes before. So, I call from the line outside and get Luis who says "you should have come inside." Really? That's so helpful. EYEROLL. At this point I've had enough and I back all the way out of the line and park so I can do just that. And I kind of wish I had just left and demanded a refund without getting my burrito because it was so salty I'm surprised it didn't call me a b!tch and slap me. Seriously, though, I love salt, salt is my friend, but this was inedible. There is no way they didn't know about the too salty pork butt (carnitas). These guys were amazing before, during, and still doing great food for an unexpected lower cost! Everything is hand made, including tortillas and chips! I've asked, because of digestion issues, and all food that's fried, is done in oil, not lard (I can barely tolerate small amounts of saturated fat, so things cooked with butter or lard, will make me sick) I've eaten nearly everything on their menu, and have never struggled with my digestion! Portions are large, filling, and you'll find yourself wanting to eat more, even when there's no room left in your stomach! ... think I need to go get me some chicken fajitas this evening... made myself hungry again! read more

I had the Chile Verde "dinner" which was plain green sauce (no onion of peppers etc) w smallish chunks of meat with mediocre beans..nothing else, no rice or a single garnish! We had a Margarita pitcher, which was cheap margarita mix (the green dye corn syrup type) w some tequila for $26..wow! It came in a strange plastic tall pitcher resembling a LAVA Lamp. One word. Yummy and authentic....wait, that's two words. But both are true. Stopped here after Yelping a place to eat while in Eureka. Luis's popped up. So glad I stopped here. This is a converted A&W that is now a sit down and order lunch or dinner. The place even has a full bar. My wife had the enchilada taco combo while I stuck with the deluxe taco salad which I added fish. They use Cod, one of my favorites. Luis's did not disappoint. A friend of mine owns a Mexican eatery near my home. One of my favorites. He told me once, "You can tell if the food at a Mexican eatery will be good if the salsa is great". He is correct. I'm not one to review, it has to be the best or the worst and unfortunately after this place being recommended it was the Worst Mexican restaurant in town! The service is terrible after asking the waitress several times for anything she would never bring it, I would have to get it myself. I ordered a margarita it was served to me in a plastic dirty cup! After all that the icing on the cake is she gave me a bill with the total and then charged my card extra without letting me know and when I confronted her about it, she got upset and told me I can leave! We're not done here, I'm going to get in touch with the better business bureau. check your recipes and check with your banks for extra charges everyone! 1 star the napkins were clean. read more
