Mexican food in Carpinteria has changed a lot in the last ten years. Lots of places I no longer want to go to. Fiesta Market and deli has only gotten better. I have eaten here a few times in the last couple months and it has been consistently good. Very tasty and very nice people. Being in the age of many drinks also they have a wide selection. It's a nice little market with some outside seating. Definitely recommend coming here for food and drinks. read more

Decent food. We've had Reyes, Delgado, and so far this was the best. I got a carne asada burrito. It was good. A large burrito with medium amount of meat. The steak had been pre cooked but still had its charbroiled flavor. The rice and beans were good. Also got al pastor tacos. The Al pastor lacked flavor. There was enough meat to make four tacos. Wife hade the chili relleno plate. She said it was good, the sauce was on the spicy side.. that was a pluse. It was microwaved. We were eating later so no biggie. Over all the food was decent for a market. Bill cane out to about $50 not to bad. We will keep trying different Mexican spots in carpenteria until we find the to go to spot. My husband's favorite breakfast burritos in Carpinteria! We are so glad we found them after Beach Liquor closed.

I had to come back and let my boyfriend try their food, since I was raving to him how good it was! We called ahead of time (before rush hour) and they said our order would be ready in about 15 minutes. We ended up order nachos with lengua because my boyfriend really loves beef tongue. It was just soooo tender! I think it was around $16 bc we ordered lengua instead of the usual carne asada, etc. Would come back again! read more

Funky little hole in the wall deli and convenience store by Carpenteria beach. Came here yesterday and ordered two chicken tacos. The portions were very small. The tacos were about half the size of my hand and had absolutely no condiments or veggies on it whatsoever. Just chicken in a small tortilla. That being said, the chicken was delicious and seasoned perfectly. I was just disappointed in the lack of other ingredients. If they put some veggies and salsa in the tacos and made them a little bigger they would be some of the best tacos ever. Overall, for the price of the tacos and their size I just don't think it's worth it. I may be back to try some more of their food, though. read more

I went there tonight to get a bean, rice and cheese burrito, and it was good, but not enough beans and toooooo much rice. I love my bean and cheese burritos to have mostly beans and melty cheese, with rice at a minimum or on the side. We stopped here with our fifth-wheel trailer. We parked a few blocks up the street. The food was freshly made and delicious. We tried the Machaca burrito and the chicken fajitas. I was once a frequent customer here. Sometimes, I would visit twice a day for the hot deli mini tacos and mini shopping. The cooks are very courteous and prepare the food orders well but the cashiers have the worst attitudes. I just don't understand...At times, you have to request for your items to be bagged. The cashiers are sometimes asleep or too busy on their mobile phone to assist a customer. My last visit, the cashier mentioned I could not use a debit card if my total was not over a certain amount. There is no sign stating this. Cashiers are rude and don't value the customer correctly. Im done, I won't be visiting again. read more

I used to work in Carpinteria back in the late 1980 to early '90s. Carp is a tourist town and has many neat places to eat. BUT this little local corner market is one of the best kept secrets anywhere. It looks like a run of the mill local Mexican market that you'd go to for milk and bread; from the outside it's completely uninteresting. Initially when you enter this small market, you see shelves of canned or packaged Mexican foods and refrigerators in the back stocked with the standard sodas and beer. But in the back left corner is a tiny kitchen that is easily overlooked. They have this big copper pot bubbling hot with oranges floating on top. In the pot: carnitas, old-school. And not just pork, but chicken, beef, in various forms. The way it's setup, is to go to the front of the store where the cashier is. There is a menu of stuff with pricing. I might order the lengua burrito (beef toung), extra spicy with rice and pinto beans, extra cilantro and jalapenos. I pay for the order and take my ticket back to the cook. He makes this GIANT burrito that's got to be 3 pounds. I'm a guy weighing nearly 200 pounds, but this burrito is so massive that I can only eat half. The menu is large, almost anything you'd expect is there. If it's not, just ask; they'll accommodate you with any special order. I've been in southern California all my life, and this is THE BEST Mexican food I've ever had. Order whatever you want -- it's all amazing. read more

Not even close to the old spot. The old Fiesta food was SO GOOD!! I miss it so much. Those flavors were unique, portions where huge, and the people were so nice. Those who know the old spot, be aware, the food is nothing like what we loved so dearly. This new situation is frustratingly ordinary. It's fine, but just know what you're getting into. I was really upset that they wouldn't serve me a breakfast burrito on a Sunday morning at 11:30. Only 30min past their breakfast cutoff time. How hard could it possibly be to gab a few eggs from the fridge? My suggestion: serve breakfast all day, especially on weekends. I can't think of another Mexican place that wouldn't make me a breakfast burrito if I wanted to order one. read more

Mi Fiesta has the greatest carnitas. No, seriously... I try carnitas up and down the state of California and nothing compares to the carnitas tacos here. I started bringing them home to my family after business trips to the area. Big mistake! Now, I can't visit the area without bringing 12 carnitas tacos on the plane. Order your food at the register and take your ticket to the back kitchen. My kids put these tacos against the best BBQ places in Kansas City. They are truly exceptional! read more

Chicken burrito is heaven on earth. Get it with rice and extra cheese and some fresh pico de Gallo. I'd drive 3 hours just to get one. Whenever I'm at my beach house I make at least two stops here in between the posh upscale dining I like to enjoy hidden amongst the quiet bustling hip dining scene that is Santa Barbara. But Mi Fiesta is my favorite to pick up and take to my house on the front patio in the sunshine watching the waves crash on my porch. Burrito in hand and a few for the week tucked in the fridge. Another stop is always required once the burritos run out. Always go with the chicken it is made special unlike any other restaurant. I've eaten here since 1997 when it first opened. Trust me. I don't pass out 5 stars. This place is well worth the dollar and visit. I almost hate giving up my favorite "hidden gem" because to me it's like another home to me and the same people like family. The food is also par for 3 Michelin Stars if burritos were among the palate of the Michelin Review. Go here and enjoy. Stay for a bite or take it down the road to the beach, if you live near by or have a vacation home nearby- you all should know this restaurant and have made it a staple in your lives, if not you're not a true local!! Great little place for the locals who forgot that one grocery item that is not worth going to a big market for. But, as many people have mentioned, the take-away food in the back is incredible. Last weekend we stopped in to have a few tacos to go. Wow the carnitas were tender and well seasoned. We ask for the salsa verde and always get a good portion of cilantro and onions. Yeah you have to find a place to park and walk to the back and make sure you get your order paid for in the fron. Great food a real place to come in and savor the food. read more

We had not been there in years, did not go back due to the quality of the food. I saw ad in CVN, new Chef and kitchen, so we decided to try it. This is located in the back of the liquor store, very clean cooking area, Chef is very organized and does an outstanding job. We picked up takeout food twice in the last week and really enjoyed the food. Nice menu and the Chef is very accommodating to ensure all is served to perfection. The Chef also does catering under Morales Catering, Adan Morales. This is the real deal and think once you try the food, you'll be back for more. read more

When I first moves to Carp I started a quest to find the best burrito in town. I was going to every eatery I could find that made burritos. When I got to Mi Fiesta I stopped because they are by far the best Carp has to offer. I guarantee anyone who says different has not done the 'research' I have. It kinda helps that all the other Mexican restaurants are not very good. Mi fiesta's tortas a really good also. All the folks who work there are really nice too.
