    2 asada tacos. Really good!
    Jason K.

My wife and I were staying in the town of Carpinteria and it was the ending of our stay and we ran out of lunch stuff during the week. I decided to try one of the 6 or 7 taco stands within walking distance of our place. On one of the main drags, this bakery also makes a lot of Mexican dishes as well, like enchiladas, burritos and of course TACOS. They didn't have a menu, which I thought was a little odd, but they were very happy to make 2 asada tacos for me. The order was called to the back and the to-go order was ready in about 5 minutes. I brought them home and there was a tasty green salsa and a spicier red ne. Both very good! Lots of pork was added to the two steamed tortillas each and some chopped onion and cilantro. The way a taco should be. I preferred the taco with the red salsa. At about $2.25 a piece, they were reasonably priced. Pretty hard to make a bad taco and these guys did not disappoint!

When I am craving Mexican food, I want the real thing but had not really found what I was looking for in Carp until today. I checked the Yelp reviews and everyone seemed to like this place. The enchiladas, burritos, and taco choices look like winners based on the posted photos but I had to order the nachos so that I could report on each of the hot sauces in their salsa bar, right? I got a to- go order because the TV was blaring over the clean tables, and I could go enjoy the view at the State Beach. Nachos: Real shredded cheese and lots of it, whole beans, fresh tortilla chips served with avocado and Pico de gallo equals Winner on all counts. Your choice of meat if you want it. Hot sauce: The light green sauce had the haberno burn that I crave. The other green is a smooth avocado sauce. One of the reds had a slow burn, the other was a Chipotle blend which was mild. The Pico provided with my nachos was fresh while the salsa bar's was a little watery but had fresh cilantro and a nice flavor. I will definitely be back to try their enchiladas and tacos. Prices are average and service was quick.

MOST DELICIOUS AND LARGEST torta ever! Great prices and they open super early for the fresh pastries, as well as close around 9, which is late for Carpinteria~! They also have the mexican coca cola bottles, which are very yummy when paired with their carne asada items!

Taco al pastor, Carnitas taco and Concha

These tacos were delicious! The staff was so kind and helpful. Conchas were fresh and perfect. I'd highly recommend trying this place out.

    Yummy freshness.

This place is a win in all the following categories: pastries, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My favorites are the adobada for lunch and dinner, and the chiliquiles for breakfast. The food is always fresh and affordable which makes it a favorite of mine.

They make really good tacos here. They also make great taquitos and flautas. It's also a good Mexican style bakery.

We visited Carpinteria for the first time as a little summer escape from the heat in Simi Valley,…read moreand after arriving hungry, we came across this place. What a great find! The restaurant was busy, with tables pretty much full both inside and outside, but luckily we were able to get seated without a wait. I ordered the fish tacos, my son had the linguini pomodoro, and my wife ordered the cioppino. Everything was delicious. The seafood tasted incredibly fresh, and the fish in the cioppino was so tender it practically melted in your mouth. The broth was rich and savory--maybe a little on the salty side, but we still really enjoyed it. The service was another highlight. Everyone was kind, friendly, and welcoming, and you could tell the staff was working hard to make sure everyone had a good experience. I also really liked how diverse the menu is. There are plenty of choices for different tastes, whether you're in the mood for seafood, pasta, tacos, or something else. Overall, this was an awesome first experience and a great discovery during our trip to Carpinteria. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town, and we're looking forward to trying more dishes from the menu!

Unfortunately, after giving Teddy's by the Sea multiple chances, the problems have become too consistent to overlook. We've had repeated issues with online orders--food mixed up or not prepared the way we ordered it. On one occasion, we even found a piece of plastic in our lobster mac and cheese. But the most frustrating issue has been the completely inconsistent closing time. They advertise that they're open until 8:30 PM, yet we've shown up as early as 7:40 PM and been told they're already closed. This hasn't happened just once--it's happened to us multiple times. We really used to enjoy coming here, but between the order mistakes, the plastic in the food, and never knowing whether they'll actually be open during their posted hours, we've finally given up. If you advertise that you're open until 8:30, customers should reasonably be able to expect you to be open at 7:40.
