This store is a circus. I hope they are trained to work and communicate as a team and treat their customers better. I came in the store on Monday 04/14 and asked for 50 pounds of oxtails, I was told the meat dept manager was in a meeting, I was told it would be ready at 3 and he would call. I waited in the parking lot, came in around 3:30 to allow time for them to fulfill the order. It was not, I was told they don't have it by a completely different employee. Ended up speaking to Marco, the store manager. We sorted it out and he spoke to the meat department manager and it was supposed to be ready Tuesday 04/15 because they had to cut the oxtails. Tried calling the store all of Tuesday morning, the phones don't work, finally get a hold of the "ASD" in her words named Melissa or Alyssa or something of that sort. She's extremely rude, her team didn't communicate the conversation from the previous day so she feels the need to take it out on me and talk to us in a condescending tone. I ask her about the order, she says call tomorrow, we're back in the same run around. We give her the phone number to get a call from the meat manager, mysteriously the call comes through, meaning they didn't call OR had the wrong number. He calls guns blazing about not honoring the sale price, etc. Not apologetic, no resolution and extremely arrogant. I mean the guy is literally yelling on the phone. It seems like everyone in charge at this store has a huge ego and doesn't like to solve problems, instead they're more worried about who has the last word and they can't even work together as a team to solve a simple task because they are too worried about arguing with the customer about what they didn't know. Ultimately I will not shop at this Fiesta location again, and if I could I would return everything I bought yesterday. I prefer to shop at #7 any way, they are more respectful and are more customer focused. read more

I don't normally do surveys but I highly recommend if you need best customer service it's the nice asian lady in the front , her name is Ritzi, always the best person to ask if need to find something . She very helpful, and approachable and has worked there for many plus years . She deserves a raise 10/10 read more

This review only covers the tiny Latina cafeteria inside Fiesta. Mrs and I decided to get dinner to go from this place. We ordered pupusa, hot chicken wings, fried plantains, and flour tortillas. Prices were very reasonable, taste was good. The best bite was the fried plantains,. Fried perfectly, not too soft and not too firm. Sweet and greasy with perfect caramelized texture. The pupusa was good too. The corn flour was grilled perfectly, did not fell apart. The cheese filling had a bit of salsa mixed in, very tasty. Flour tortillas were fresh. The small disappointment was the wings. It was advertised as hot wings, but there was no heat at all. The wings still had good flavor. Counyer help was friendly and quick. We probably will go back again for the plantains. read more

I hardly ever check in when I go to Fiesta. I'm new to this checking in on yelp.. Now I'm obsessed with checking in everywhere I go. I visit this store all the time. The produce here is always fresh and have GREAT prices. My trainer got me on this 5 meals a day diet, (I cheat all the time just look at my check ins) and a lot of veggies are involved.. especially juicing. So a lot of fruits and veggies are needed. And when buying large quantities, the prices here are amazing. I'm trying to do this low carb thing so I don't eat a lot of breads but they do have fresh breads and desserts. Now if I compare their fresh bread and dessert department to Kroger of course Kroger would win. But they do have a decent selection of breads and desserts at Fiesta. The fresh seafood department here is awesome. The guys are always friendly and they have a large selection at great prices. When I say large I mean HUGE selection. Frozen and fresh. The meats are cool. But not the best. I've gone here and they didn't have any more ground beef. That was weird. As far as different kind of cheeses and gourmet food they're kind of lacking, but I'm guessing thats not their market. Okay so in the front of the store near the registers there's a boost mobile store and and this accessory place, I think a place to get auto insurance and a tax place during tax season. At the courtesy booth you can do normal things like pay bills, there's also a ticket master and other things... Over ALL its a cool grocery store... They're also starting to make sushi. I haven't tried it but Its stuff like california rolls and spring rolls and things like that.. I'm going up there again tomorrow. I'll take some photos and post them. read more

I don't really come here for my basic groceries but you can since the prices are pretty low but when I need something special this is the place I go. I was looking for some international stuff, especially Asian stuff but didn't want to drive out to the bellaire area. What's the next best thing? Fiesta a store for all of course! I was able to find my noodles, my sauces, even my weird asian sodas. While going through the fruit section I even found persimmons! I haven't had these delicious little fruits in years! They even have a Thiem Hung express. But that's a review in itself. read more

Con: They unfairly snake the early-vote line just across from the Chinese food kiosk so you have to stand there looking at the menu and fair pricing, smelling the food you want to put in your mouth but no, you can't leave your place in line because you have been counted off by ten already. Don't put me near greasy Americanized Chinese food and then not let me get some, sister. Clearly other people agree about the need for this kind of food in ongoing supply since the literal worst in the city Panda Express is just across the parking lot and this kiosk I knew nothing about was about go get my business if they would have walked over to me in line to take my order, given me my food in line, and then I could have spun the little knobs on the voting machine with one hand while enjoying my Chinese with the other. Pro: I think this is the last Fiesta ITL? So it is exclusive. I used to go to the one on Dunlavy but that is long closed, replaced by luxury apartments. Even if it's not the last one you don't see many of them any more. Or I see less of them than I used to. Whichever way works. Con: It's in the Med Center and these surrounding city streets are Iraqistani quality with unevenness, huge potholes, and other garbage-tier qualities. The receiving department is the worst. You have to ring the door bell a thousand times for them to open and once they open all you see is the ladies on their phones and texting. Great prices! Cheaper than the Target across the street - and, in my opinion, their produce is much better than Target's! This Fiesta Mart has an incredible selection of ethnic foods - everything from produce to dairy products to processed goods! I needed a can of unripe jackfruit for a recipe - and didn't have to venture outside the 610 loop - this store had it! I've seen cream cheese here in a cute glass jar with Arabic script on the lid and "Made in Denmark" printed to the side of the nutrition label. This is a glorious place to shop for your gastronomical desires. Actually, it's one of those kind of dimly/depressingly lit standard Mexican grocery marts. Though I'm sentimental about those; pricing is generally competitive for produce and the selection of other foods is reasonably diverse. My friend allergic to wheat and corn can find a good variety of alternative flours she can use to bake brownies that won't threaten her life. Finding Ritter Sport here has been a happy surprise worthy of celebration (i.e. buying the entire inventory and breaking the bank), especially since Fiesta carries more obscure flavors like Alpine Milk Chocolate. I tried finding vampire flippers here to no avail, but I wasn't really expecting them here. It was more or less an act of desperation after Target ran out a few days before Halloween. Expected. Since I am lazy and don't want to read every sign hanging on every aisle, I sometimes ask staffers where certain items are located to no avail, mostly due to language barriers. This is an amazing supermarket. It specialized in Hispanic groceries but has foods from all over the world. The prices are fantastic and the selection of products extraordinary. I wish we had places like this in Maine. Ethnic grocery stores can't be beat and make "regular" grocery stores look like the buffet at "old country" boring and mundane. Peppers from every part of Mexico, pickled ham knuckles, Mexican pastries, international cheeses, breads, etc. they have prepared food for dinner and several indoor kiosks with take out. read more

Shopping at Fiesta is always a blast- you never know what local or international treats you will find. They have everything from piñatas to fresh seafood- all reasonably priced. If you've never been, it's like an indoor Hispanic-Asian-African fusion grocery store, with everything you need to not only cook international foods but also to plate and present them. If you are a fan of open-fire cooking for large crowds they also have the equipment for you. Need everything form A to Z for cooking tamales? This is your spot to shop!! Fiesta isn't my go-to store, but it serves several purposes and they have a decent selection of the items I come to buy. When I want to cook Nigerian food and am too lazy to head to the African store on the southwest side, I come here. They even have an awesome cheat for making moi moi--they sell black eyed peas that are already peeled! If you've ever hand peeled black eyed peas to make moi moi or akara, you know why I'm so excited about this. They also carry a powdered version of those same peeled black eyed peas, but that just sounds bad to me. I need to soak them and puree them myself. While in Peru earlier this year, I fell in love with their national soda, Inca Kola. And guess where I can find it locally??? While you're here, you can also buy concert tickets, pay bills, send money via Western Union, buy some jewelry, or even some Texans gear. If you're looking for it, it can't hurt to look for it at this Fiesta! I bet that sounds a lot less sexy now. Fiesta is helping that endeavor immeasurably though. I've loved Fiesta ever since I moved here. Amidst all the ruckus about Trader Joe's, it's time for me to bring Fiesta back to the Yelp front page and give it the recognition it deserves. For those of you who are moving to Houston from a city with a Trader Joe's, you're exceptionally lucky because you also have Fiesta in town now as well. Fiesta has a larger range of the interesting foreign specialty groceries and reasonably-priced beer and wine that Trader Joe's is well-known for stocking. Since it doesn't stock mostly store-brand products, you can find a lot of obscure and wonderful snacks and candy that you have may have missed from a trip abroad or if you're like myself, candy blogs. You'd scoff less if you knew how many types of Dots I've tried because of them. My "Less real candy, more dirt candy" credo is also easier to live by with Fiesta's produce aisle. Good lord, I've never seen any other chain with such a consistent selection of fresh, cheap produce from all over the world. This is like they brought the farmer's market to you! In fact, the produce is so much more reasonably priced than even that value-and-"values" den Wal-Mart that my parents stockpile produce at Fiesta when they visit Houston and drive home to north Texas with a trunk full of Fiesta produce. I'm pretty sure they're at least as excited about Fiesta as they are about seeing me. It's cute to see how their faces light up when they describe it. And there lies the rub. Fiesta + Trader Joe's is going to be my one-two knockout punch for being a bombshell both in and out of the kitchen. For cheap, high-quality one-stop yuppie shopping, Fiesta is the best chain I've found in the US. Admittedly, Trader Joe's wins for those with less time to cook because that frozen aisle is incomparable for saving your money and your waistline. When you're wishing to actually get cookin', come to Fiesta, where you can get all of what you need-and that Shiner Ruby Red and those Rowntree's Fruit Pastilles you've been dying to try. This store is where you need to go if you want authentic, cheap international grocery items. I spoke to the manager when I first visited and he said that the Fiesta company will research the demographics of the population living in the area of the proposed store to determine what items to stock. Because this is in the Medical Center area, I am sure that is why it is so diverse. They have a lot of Mexican items and baked goods but I also saw Chinese, Vietnamese, Indian and Nigerian items (dried fish heads? Anyone? anyone? Bueller??) too. The produce section is awesome and varied. They had 2 different sizes of Mango! 5 different Banana varietals! They are serious about the produce. The wine and beer section is not as extensive as the Kroger up the street, but it's pretty good. What knocks 2 stars off of this review is that the deli and fish section smells, well... funky/fishy. Word to the wise, Fresh meat and Fresh fish should not smell like anything at all (that's how you know it's fresh!). My nose is sensitive and that smell permeates the whole store. If you are needing something for an "ethnic" meal, whatever that means to you, they probably have what you need/ the brand that you remember from your homeland at a fair market price. Ooh! Joan B is not kidding. I comparison shop a lot, and Fiesta rivals chinatown prices for produce, in a cleaner space. 2) Clean. Bright. Easy to navigate. 3) Fresh, pleasant looking produce. Not always the case in chinatown. 4) International! SUPER international! In food and its patrons, haha! Indian, mexican, asian, greek - fresh tortillas, asian veggies, TONS of fruits, durian! super cheap and sweet mangos... you name it! This is a one stop shop. Maybe it's just me, but HEB is too commercial for me. It's nice, but a bit .. plasticky, if that makes sense. It probably doesn't. Fiesta keeps it REAL! I look at these other reviews and think I must have been seriously spoiled by other grocery stores I've made my "go-to." Or I just happened to be lucky that those grocery stores were great and I just happened to be close to where I lived. This store has become the exception to my grocery experiences. Produce, great. International food selection, solid. But, Meat, bad. Prices, I've seen better. Selection, not the best. This store is 3 minutes from my apartment, but I'm going to happily travel an extra 15 to get to the HEB off Buffalo Speedway. That should pretty much sum up my feelings about Fiesta. read more

Overall horrible. They sell reject fruits. Mostly damaged, cut, bruised, too small, discolored, almost rotten, oddly shaped produce. Vegetables are mostly OK. Run down store. Even the checkout conveyor belts are falling apart (checkout #4). They tout Fiesta Mart as affordable. Yet, the quality is so low, the prices seem overblown for the horrible produce they sell. Papayas, avocados, bananas, plantains, mangos, lemons are consistently good. Oranges and all other citrus are consistently very small, soft and mushy (almost gone bad). Yellow and red onions are most of the time rotten and infested with fruit flies. The personnel are rude and unhelpful. read more

Okay, I usually come here for quick stops during the week or if Kroger is too crowded. They do have a lot of specialty international foods and spices hard to find other places. It is also an early voting location that is pretty convenient. I hate the chaos in the parking lot here...no one follows the rules of traffic and in the store the aisles are really narrow and make for cramped shopping. read more

This place is great! A friend had actually told me that I should visit a Fiesta Mart while in Houston. Considering I'm a grocery store junkie, I took his advice seriously. Plus, it turns out that the friend I was visiting in Houston shops here all the time. I loved walking through the import aisles - I found British white chocolate for a co-worker who loves white chocolate. Some of the prices were a bit high, but others were very low. If I lived in Houston, this would definitely be one of my regular grocery stores. read more

Eat here at your own risk. Also the beef taco is nasty! Seriously you boil a roast and just slap that nasty stuff fat water and all in a corn tortilla??! Don't know why it took me so long to find this place. Bigger, cleaner and more Asian vegetables than the branch on Almeda, and as usual for Fiesta good prices. Good meat counter and good seafood including live fish from time to time (catfish or tilapia) but availability varies. There are also in store Mexican and Chinese cafetria style shops. Have not tried them yet, but looks like a good place to pick up something quick for lunch. read more

This Fiesta along with all Fiestas are a one-stop-shop to get great international food. If your feeling Vietnamese on Monday BAM they got the ingredients for Pho. Hey what about Indian on Wednesday, BOOM they have ingredients to make a mean Masala. This is also a fantastic place to go if you want to sample a lot of the international foods and get a little inspiration. I went on a Saturday...bad idea, but I think with any grocery store its the same. I guess everybody is preparing for Sunday dinner. It was CRAZY, the lines were backed up all the way to the grocery aisles, and they only had 5 lanes open. I guess they were short staffed that day or that might be the way they operate (kind of like Walmart). All in all I got some really great fruit here at a fair price but I will never do my regular grocery shopping here that's for sure. Its more expensive than Super Target and Kroger but that may be because I'm not allowed to use the coupons that I printed out online from chron.com. I will just pay a visit to Fiesta when I need some great produce or my homemade international fix, until then Super Target here I come. read more

You want cheap groceries? Fiesta is usually my old standby for when I need to go for a grocery run near my house. Why Fiesta over Kroger? While I shop at both Kroger and Fiesta, Fiesta has a much larger selection of ethnic foods, particularly Asian/Indian/Latino foods. The asian selection pales in comparison to the asian supermarkets in Bellaire or Long Point, but it serves its purpose for the Astrodome area. read more

Just like every other supermarket in Houston Fiesta is pretty big. I love their fruit section. Always a good variety and very fresh. I would say it is cheaper than Kroger and Randalls, but there are some wines I prefer to buy at the latter. One thing about fiesta is that they carry a lot of latin and other international goods, that sets them apart from most supermarkets in Houston. read more

I stopped by to purchase colossal shrimp only to see a sign that states colossal, but the shrimp were actually jumbo. As a seafood fanatic, I knew better. Since when colossal shrimp are $11 a pound?
