The coaches ran games like dodgeball and baseball but they also offered sand toys and arts/crafts for kids that didn't want to run in the sun. A friend recommended this camp for my son and we decided to try it out this summer. It was epic! My son had so much fun! The atmosphere at the camp is very positive. All coaches knew his name by end of day 1. He enjoyed playing games, Thursday tie-die and Friday talent show. He made some new friends and had a really good experience. I like that they post pictures and videos on Instagram throughout the day and they sent me couple of pictures of my son! The staff was responsive on text and Instagram and the counselors really seem to care about the kids having fun at the camp. He told me he wants to go back next year! read more

This is literally the only camp my then 6 year old kid asked to go to again last year, so we did 2 weeks last year and 2 consecutive weeks this year. I thought for sure he'd be over the beach the day after he was done but wanted to go again right away. I was so excited to see how comfortable he was in the ocean and so aware of how to play in the waves. Safety is most important and he is showing knowledge of respecting the ocean. I sent my twin girls here and they had a blast. We originally signed them up for one week at the Redondo/Torrance location and they ended up going to two more consecutive weeks after their initial first week. The camp counselors are amazing. i felt completely at ease dropping them off everyday. They were at first hesitant about the water but by the first day they were picked up wet and sandy and happy. Our 7 year old/twin 5 year olds had the absolute best time, split between the Manhattan Beach and El Segundo locations. They came home every day exhausted (in the best way) but up and excited to go the next morning. I sometimes worry camps and the like will have a bunch of apathetic teens working as counselors, but the staff here is fantastic - really makes you feel like your kids are in great hands, from a safety perspective (especially during these Covid times) and also generally as far as keeping things fun and active. Last, Trevor the Founder over email was great - super helpful with all our questions + some rescheduling we had to do. Champ Camp Beach Camp is truly amazing. We sent our 4.5 year old son here and he really looked forward to going every day. The best part is that every morning when I dropped him off the entire group of employees would yell his name excitedly and he would love it. I found Champ Camp online as we are only visiting Manhattan Beach for the summer, but we could not have found a better spot for our son! Although he was one of the youngest (3 years old) he felt right at home thanks to the warmth of the counselors. The whole team is awesome!! Classic South Bay day camp. Friendly (and vaxxed!) staff, affordable, safe environment and excellent customer service. Our six year old loved it and we will be back next summer! After El Segundo cancelled it's session due to the water treatment spill (ugh) - the owner Trevor reached out personally, helped us and in 24 hours put our kid into a Manhattan Beach camp session instead. (My only itsy bitsy suggestions would be, if possible... 1) to have the camp run until 3:30 or 4pm vs 3pm. But I understand that could be a staffing issue and 2) maybe have a full monthly price option vs only a weekly option.) Looking forward to next year! Thanks Champ Camp! read more

This is an amazing camp with incredible staff. My son is not the type to take to new things easily, but he absolutely loved Champ Camp. He had a blast for three weeks out of the summer, did not get tired of it, and always wanted to go back every week. I have never seen him so motivated to participate in any activity. The instructors Josh, Ellie, and Trevor were outstanding. They were kind, supportive of the kids, fun, and professional. They made sure that my son wore his sunscreen and drank enough water, and made sure that all of the kids were happy and safe, and returned texts on the few occasions that I needed to communicate with them.
