Beer

This little wine shop in downtown Roscommon is a gem. John, the owner is very pleasant and helpful. If there's something that you want but he does not have, he will order it gladly for you. There were many wines to choose from in all different price points. From a Dom Perignom champagne in the $200 range to wines in the $10 range. There was a large selection of beers. There was also an area where you could get maple syrup, honey and caramel corn and the proceeds went to charity. A small selection of cheeses are in the back. This is a darling little wine shop where I'm sure you'll find some thing for everyone. Totally

I wish I could've given this market 10 stars!! It was my savior while in Roscommon. Any and every alcoholic beverage you can think of, they have it. If not, they have heard of it and are unable to stock it for some reason out of their reach. I was super impressed with the selection of Michigan wines and beers. We got some rare Michigan Ciders and some hard to find Michigan wines from the Traverse City area. I will make a special trip just to come here again, even if I'm not staying in Roscommon. The workers were very friendly and helpful. They have all of the bells and whistles needed to accompany the beverages you are purchasing! They even have a room off to the side with vinegars, oils, crackers, olives, wine glasses, etc. Stop in even if you don't partake!

My husband and I are craft beer bloggers and we moved to Roscommon from Grand Rapids. After leaving "beer city" I was concerned with our access to craft beer up north. The moment I walked into this store I realized Roscommon was the right northern city for us. This store is jam packed with craft beer!!! Wine takes up a very small section in comparison and the other half of the building is gourmet snacks, honey, Michigan maple syrup, coffee etc John the store owner is so nice, and after two years here I truly consider him a friend. I've gone to this store and spent as much time talking to John as I have drooling down each aisle. He tries to keep what's popular in stock and stays current on new releases, but in the old school way. He runs a humble operation and isn't really on the internet ever, so word of mouth and craft beer magazines are gold to him. If your searching for a specific beer or wine that he doesn't have he will try hard to order it in for you. Every person that shops here regularly seems to have a connection with John! This business is him and he is worth every penny.

I am from California and rarely see such an amazing selection of local craft beer and CA wine. Thank you for making Roscommon a destination.

A truly excellent selection of beer and wine. The proprietor helpful, knowledgable, and friendly. It's a must-stop on the way up I-75.

The selection is amazing and John is willing to order anything he can get his hands on, if he doesn't have it.

The selection isn't huge as they have a smaller footprint but we found pretty much everything we needed in this small town market. Candy, Sprite, and s'mores fixin's for my little cousin, blueberries and oatmeal for my grandma, beer for my husband and uncle, frozen soft pretzels and mustard for my aunt, brats making sausage and peppers for the group for my mom, and Moomers ice cream and cans of Bubly for me. Prices were decent, especially for a smaller market, and they had a surprising amount of locally made goods. Produce selection was a little small (we had to go into Sutton's Bay to get oranges, for example) but all pantry items we needed were easy to find. The shop, because it's small, makes checking out a little challenging when there are more than a few folks in there. At one point my mom and I were looking at the ice cream selection and a line of about 4 people filed behind us. We didn't realize the coolers were adjacent to the second cash register! Navigating out was a challenge but everyone was very kind about it. Admittedly, though I read the amazing reviews for their Indian eats, we did not get any. But I'm definitely game to try it out next time.

I was looking for a steak to throw on the grill and wanted to give this business a try as there are only a handful of markets on this side of the state that specialize in meats. They had all the meats you would expect too see where I settled on a Porterhouse steak based on 1). how the steak looked and 2) price which was very reasonable especially in light of todays inflated meat prices at $12.99 a lb . Upon getting the steak home I was quite pleased with the end product. The meat had an appropriate amount of fat for a Porterhouse, was very tender and just as importantly was very flavorful where the meat was definately a cut above the other grocery stores in the area and on a par with Neiman's which has tad higher prices in my opinion. Based on my initial experience I will definately consider this market in the future where I will be leaning towards a nice Ribeye the next time round. People are friendly and the location just a block off of US23 is very convenient and hard to \beat considering its close proximity to other key business in the area to include Walmarts, coffee shops and assorted restaurants. Nice!!
