Awesome restaurant .. They have way more good days than bad days, I feel like it just depends on the cook. I had a recent "bad day" experience. The flavor was really off from what it normally is. I did make the restaurant aware of how I felt about the food that day. They were really nice about the situation, they did not offer a refund. Which I was not expecting, but it did seem like they were concerned with what I had to say. Which really made me feel good. The hour and half drive that I take to get here, is definitely worth it. read more

Out of towner stopped by excited to try something a little different. When we got there the girl at the front was not the friendliest. I'll give her a little bit of a pass since we were asking questions about what certain things were. We weren't familiar with some of the names of the different Caribbean ingredients. I say only a little pass. Customer service is a big part of the experience. They had a regular menu and specials on a chalkboard hanging up. We found that there were several things we wanted that they didn't have. Why not erase things from the chalkboard if you don't really have it? This was a little shack with outdoor picnic tables to eat at. There was one other person waiting in their car when we arrived. After we ordered we were told it would be 25 minutes but it was much longer. My sister actually went up to the counter and the woman asked what we ordered and said "oh yeah, I was just bagging it." My sis said she swears it seemed like the food has been sitting there and the girl just forgot about it. Either way we'll get to the actual food. My sister got the snapper with Cole slaw and fried yucca. Fish was over cooked and the sides were not very good. I got the oxtails with plantains and rice/beans. It was all just mediocre except for the plantains. All in all, we were not impressed and wouldn't come back, especially for what we paid. I am from Miami every time I drive up to Fort Myers I have to pass by this place. The food is good the staff is nice and professional and I like the fact that they have regular size and large size meal. I always order the large but I can't never finish it and also they have different side order like mac and cheese, Haitian potato salad and other sides not like Miami were your side order is only salad. If your in the area or just passing through stop by Fifys Restaurant they have great food you won't be disappointed. read more

I had passed Fify's the week before and decided to give it a try. Some of the best Caribbean food we've had in a while! Took the famiy there for lunch on a Monday and it was busy at lunchtime. We had fried goat with mac and cheese, black beans and rice, tostones and sweet plantains. My sister-in-law ordered the sampler platter.We also ordered extra pikles since the taste on the platters was just not enough. We dined at a picnic table outside so we could hear each other instead of the loud tvs inside. Francesca, the owner came out and had a pleasant conversation with us about the history of her restaurant.Plan to go back next week when I am in town again and try the frief pork/they marinate for 24 hours and cook it before frying to seal in the flavor.
